"You look familiar. " Dominic said and I glanced over at Russeli who was now staring at me intensely.
"Oh really," I laughed it off. "I have been on tv shows and magazines a lot, maybe you knew me from those."
"No." Dominic insisted and looked at Russell and then at me. "You look like a friend from four years ago, her name is Malinda Kristen."
I swallowed hard and looked at Russelli with wide eyes, he stared at me for quite a long time and turned to his friend.
"Dominic, how can Natasha Wilbur take after your friend, you must have seen a lot of ladies in your past." He smiles.
I didn't know if I should feel sad or happy, but a void was left in my heart, was he ever going to recognise me.
"I must be mistaken then." Dominic surrendered and dropped the argument, I looked at him and forced a smile.
"I heard you came back from Canada where you participated in many dance competitions." I changed the topic immediately as we all sat down.
"Yes." He beams and I take it that he loves when they talk about his dance. "I forgot to mention that you are pretty."
"Thanks for the compliment." I looked at Russell and noticed he was still staring at me, but he looked away immediately.
"I heard you are doing a duet with Russeli." Dominic's voice made me turn my attention back to him. "I would love it if you took good care of him."
I raised my brows, already aware of where this conversation was heading, I glanced at Russeli who was also looking at his friends with wide curious eyes.
"He lost a lady he loved four years ago. He had tried to flee with her because his father disapproved of his love for her, but they had an accident and almost died." Dominic continues his speech.
I could feel Russeli watching me like a hawk, my eyes were wide and I didn't want to show any reaction to what his friend was saying. I made sure to put on an expressionless face.
"As you can see, he survived it, as for the lady he loves she also survived but is nowhere to be found, not even a record of her death." Dominic continued and I glanced at Russelli, now realizing that he had also gone to the hospital in search of Malinda.
I should open my lips and tell him that I was here, that I am the one, but I know I have to act this way, I still have a lot to do and now I wanted to stop Dominic from telling me all these things.
"She had just disappeared and that is how he lost her. After that he lost his emotions and has been like a plain sheet, so please, Natasha Wilbur helps Russeli find his emotions again." Dominic's words made my eyes wet, I was losing it at this moment and soon enough they would see my tears.
I immediately got up from my chair and turned my back to hide my tears. "I have something urgent to attend to, Sinead will show you your way out."
"Natasha..." I heard Russeli called out but I hurried upstairs to my room and shut the door behind me. I squatted down and felt something warm roll down my cheek.
I should tell Russeli sooner than later, I couldn't bear it any longer, if I continue this way I might only crumble, I know they had seen my tears, I know I was the only one making this go too long, though I want to act cold, I felt I have been discovered, there should be no need to keep it in any longer.
Russell POV
I left Natasha's house with Russeli, all through the drive we were silent as I remember the tears that lingered in Natasha's eyes when Dominic was speaking, I felt uneasy, I felt sad, if she was Malinda Kristen and she remembers the past, then it will hurt her more, I wonder how she had survived after the accident, what she had gone through when I lost my memories of her.
When we got to Dominic's I turned to him in anger. "Why do you have to say those things?" I barked, I had known she was the one, but repeating those things to her would only hurt her, she was the one I needed to take care of, not the other way round.
"Don't you see she is your lost Malinda, what else do you want to confirm when she is right there in your front?" He retorted and I pressed my lips together, someone like Dominic wouldn't understand.
I run my hand through my hair and look at him agitated. "I know she is Malinda Kristen, but how can I approach her after she must have suffered so much because of me?" I was even scared now since it was my father who had hurt her.
Will she even want to look at me like she did in the past, who would want to go through that hurt again? I sat on the sofa and rubbed my hands through my forehead as a lot of angry thoughts filled inside of me. I was angry at myself for losing my memories of her. If I hadn't then I would have searched for her when I woke up from the hospital that day.
"You also suffered, if you haven't lost your memories you would have gone to find her, because the Russeli I know would never shut Malinda out," Russeli said in a loud voice, answering the questions on my mind.
"Now that you remember everything, you have to hold onto her since she is now close to you before you lose her forever." He told me softly this time and I closed my eyes, he was right, but deep down I know it was not easy as he said.
"How can I hurt her a second time?" My eyes became blurred with tears as I looked up at Dominic, I don't think I deserve Malinda, not anymore.
Dominic placed his hands on my shoulder and his eyes were tender as he gazed at me. "You are Russeli, and you love her, that is all that matters, so do all you can to bring her back to you." Dominic flashed me an assuring smile and I swallowed hard.
Honestly, Dominic was the only friend I have and too truthful, now he looked like my big brother telling me to go get what was mine.
I placed my hand on his shoulder and nodded. "You are right Dominic, I have to bring her back to my side." A broad smile flashed through his face and he nodded to me.
This time, I have set my mind to it, I will take back who I love and never let anyone hurt her ever again.
