Three years later…
It was my wife’s birthday today. After our last public engagement this week, I planned to take her to our private property in the Caribbean.
The sun shone overhead. Her skin glistened as she basked the beach in warmth.
I still couldn’t get enough of her after all these years of happy marriage. I still got the same reaction as if the first time I saw her every time I came home from work.

“We’re still considering another baby, right?” Since our baby prince just turned two years old last month, I thought of a baby princess.
“I know now why you take me on vacation. You want something from me.”
I turned to look at her. Her eyes filled with humor. “A man could dream that you might say yes.”
She just stared at me—really stared at me for a whole damn minute without a word.
“I love you, darling. I didn’t take you here to knock you up. It’s your birthday, and we were buried with work since January. I thought you need a break. That’s all. No hidden agenda. I promise.”
“I know. And if I remember it correctly. We’ve talked about another baby once. Three months ago, I think.”
“If you’re not ready. It’s all right. We’re still young. And we have our young prince already.” I leaned over to kiss her on the lips. “Maybe we can make love here tonight.”
“Not a bad idea, but remember when we went out on a yacht? Who knows there might be a drone we can’t see.”

I taught him many times to call me daddy. Sometimes I got jealous, especially when I and Kennedy our together. He was stuck up with mama.
I got all the attention when I was a kid, still, I felt envious, but then, this was our child—our world.
He went to his mother to wrap his arms around Kennedy’s neck before he ran back to his nanny.

He waved his tiny hand as he walked away. I glanced back to my wife with a huge smile on her face. Our child made her happiest.
I still remembered when she told me she was pregnant. We didn’t talk about growing a family at that time. She cried so hard, scared that her pregnancy would change our lives and my feelings for her. She didn’t have any idea that I’d been planning to impregnate her all those months. Even before we got married.
“Penny for the thoughts?”
“I remember when you told me you were pregnant.”
She snorted. “You sabotage my pills, asshole.”
“I know it was an ass move, but I’d apologized to you and took you to visit your parents. I also invited your favorite singer on your birthday.”
“I was so scared.” She rounded her eyes at me.
“I’m so sorry. What I did to you was wrong. Actually, if I’m being honest, I’m not sorry for knocking you up. I am only sorry for not telling you.”
“It’s all right. You gave me the priceless gift, babe.” She wrapped her arms around my waist. “I love you so much for that.”

“So, here’s what I think. Since we already have Prince Caeden, named after the King’s second name. I was thinking of Princess Aaliyah, your mother’s second name. Do you think she will give us her blessings? Princess Aaliyah Aleksiea.”
“Aleksiea, came from my third name?”
“Yeah. What do you think, You Highness?”
“Wait.” My heart just stopped. I turned to face her. We stared at each other for a few seconds. A slow smile started to build on her lips. Holy shit! “Darling?”
“Babe?” She then flashed a print of the ultrasound to my face.
“Fuck me.” I laughed. “How far are we? Wait a sec. Allow me to process and rejoice.” I laughed out loud and pulled her to me. She straddled into me, her legs snaked around my waist. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly.
“I love you, babe. This is the best birthday gift you’ve ever given me.”
“That’s another best gift you gave me, My Duchess. I love you.” I pulled away and looked at her before I kissed her so hard. She responded right away, kissing me with the same intensity.
When we broke apart, we were still smiling. “Princess Aaliyah Aleksiea is perfect.”
