"Everybody, calm down." I said, stepping between Rin and the blonde girl. Then I turned to the blonde. "If you really want to see another day, I suggest you stop whatever it is you’re trying to do."
She huffed. "A warrior like me doesn’t back down when faced with evil like you."
I sighed and nodded toward the bloody, severed head lying on the floor. "Do you want to end up like that?"
She groaned, tightening her grip on the sword in her hand.
Ignoring her, I took a step back, grabbed Rin’s hand, and led her to Tama and Miriam.
"Goodbye, blonde girl. Honestly, I didn’t want our farewell to be like this, but I guess it can’t be helped." I waved at her.
She fumed. "I’ll find you devils! And I’ll kill every single one of you!"
I shrugged. "Suit yourself."
Then I teleported us to Gasita Village, appearing inside the chief’s house.
The village still looked like a ghost town—only worse. Sick people lay scattered across the chief’s palace, and the air itself felt like a graveyard.
Miriam’s eyes widened in shock as she took in the state of the village. I guess she didn’t leave it in this mess.
That’s when Mabel saw us. She came running, arms wide, a bright smile on her face before she leaped into her mother’s arms, sobbing with joy. I watched as the two reunited, tears in their eyes, before Mabel ran up and hugged my legs too.
"Thank you so much, mister." She squeezed me tighter.
I patted her head. "In case you forgot, I wasn’t doing this for free, little girl. You promised to pay me, didn’t you?"
She smiled. "Ah, yes, I did." Then she dashed into another room and returned with a small pouch of money, handing it to me. "This is all I have, mister."
Inside were a few gold coins and some bronze ones. I took a single bronze coin, slipped it into my pocket, then handed the rest back to her.
"You kept your word. You’d make a good leader—someone who understands the value of paying for services. You’re already better than your late father."
Her eyes widened. "L-late?"
"Ah, don’t worry about that." I quickly deflected the matter. I didn’t want to have to explain that her father was killed by Rin for being an asshole. "So, what happened here? I see a lot of sick people."
Mabel began telling me how everyone had fallen ill, suffering from severe diarrhea.
I moved to check on the sick. Many were vomiting, their eyes sunken. Then it clicked to me. These people had been drinking dirty water. Even though I had purified it a few days ago, the damage had already been done to their bodies.
I turned to Mabel. "I might know how to make a remedy to cure everyone."
"Really?" Miriam asked beside me.
"Yes, really. But it won’t be free." I smirked, winking.
"We’ll pay however we can, sir," Miriam responded, her beautiful eyes locked onto me. She was still wearing the coat I had given her last night.
Just the thought that she had nothing under that coat—no panties, no trousers, nothing—made my Milf Senses Tingle.
"I’m sure you’ll be able to pay in many ways." I smirked at her before turning back to Mabel. "You have sugar and salt, right?"
She nodded and ran off to get them.
From their symptoms, it was obvious—they had cholera. A small but deadly disease if left untreated. The best thing I could do in this medieval fantasy world was teach them how to make Oral Rehydration Solution.
When Mabel returned, I showed her the process.
"Mix one liter of boiling water with seven teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt. Then make sure everyone drinks it frequently. With time, they should recover."
"Really, sir? That’s all it takes?" Miriam asked.
"Pretty much. If you have rice, give the patients boiled rice water—it helps replenish their energy. And most importantly, keep everything clean. Eat and cook with clean utensils. And give them clean clothes. Im pretty sure you’ll figure out the rest on your own." I stretched myself, feeling exhausted. "I’m heading out."
I was tired and a bit nostalgic. Needed to return to Eldoria—fast.
As I stood up, I noticed Tama a few meters away, nervously fiddling with her fingers.
"Something wrong?" I asked.
She tensed. "Well... ugh... I don’t know. Um, won’t she—" she glanced at Rin with fearful eyes.
I sighed. "She won’t harm you."
"Really? I mean, she’s a demon?"
"Yeah, and if you keep running your mouth like that, I won’t guarantee your safety."
Tama froze. "I’m gonna die." She muttered under her breath.
I chuckled. "Relax. Rin might not like you, but... she likes you."
"That doesn’t make sense." She frowned as she stole a glance at Rin who only tilted her head, glancing back.
"You’ll understand someday. Well, shall we get going?"
Tama nodded.
I said my goodbyes before teleporting back to Eldoria, landing straight in my room with Rin and Tama.
The house was eerily quiet.
"Girls, stay in my room. Don’t make any noise, okay? I’ll be back." I ordered.
"Wait... Master! You’re leaving me alone? With her?" Tama’s eyes widened, her tail standing straight up.
"Yeah. It’s time for you two to get along."
I heard her grumble something under her breath as I walked out and shut the door behind me.
I checked all the rooms in the house and found no one around. Just as I stepped outside, I saw my sister coming from the other side of the road.
The moment she spotted me, she ran to me and jumped into my arms with a hug.
"Brother dearest!" she said obnoxiously.
"Hey." I responded, ruffling her hair. "Where are you coming from? And where’s Mom?"
"Mom is at Mrs. Rambrandt’s place!"
I frowned. "Really? Doing what?"
"It’s about your friend! The girl you brought over last time. She’s acting strange! Mrs. Rambrandt came looking for you yesterday!"
My stomach dropped. "Wait... you mean, Anna?"
"Yeah! Something’s wrong with her!"
Without another word, I bolted toward Anna’s place.
