Artemis growled loudly, hearing this. “How dare she!!”
“I… I know you both love me, but she said that you both would throw me away like my previous parents after having a... A new baby of your own.” Artin said, and by that time, he started sobbing while Caroline wiped his tears. Artemis looked all red. It looked like he would kill Erica at any moment.
“And do you believe her?” Caroline asked him softly.
Artin shook his head. His past had caused trauma in his life, because of which he couldn’t forget the incident that happened when he was just two years old, but at the same time, he hadn’t forgotten everything that his parents had done in all these years.
“That’s like my boy,” Caroline said and kissed his forehead.
“You guys continue. Let me take care of that bit….”
“Artemis.” Caroline glared at him for abusing him in front of Artin.
“I mean that female dog.” Artemis corrected himself.
“Female dog is called BITCH, Papa,” Artin said innocently, to which Artemis gave a scared look, scared of his mate.
‘I’m so dead. Leave from here quickly, or this witch will eat you alive.’
“I.. I know, son.” Artemis mumbled.
“I heard it; what did you just think? Sit here. Artin’s conversation is not ended yet.” Caroline said before speaking through the mind link. ‘And then I will eat you.’
‘Why does ‘EAT YOU’ sounds thrilling rather than ‘SCARY’?’ He questioned, on which Caroline rolled her eyes.
“Did.. did you both know that I’m Alpha Santino’s son?” Artin questioned.
“Yes, sweetheart. We did.” Caroline replied. “When we met, at that time, we didn’t know about it, but then my wolf picked your scent, which was similar to Santino’s scent. But it has nothing to do with your adoption. Just like we have told you before, we are repeating it again. We adopted you because we wanted to. Because you won our hearts with your little possessive habit.”
Saying this, Caroline kissed him again.
“Do you know why did he leave me? And who is my mother? And why did she do the same with me?”

“She is the Female Gamma of Uncle Calvin’s pack.” Caroline replied and watched Artin’s expression, which recalled how the female Gamma of his uncle’s pack was showering love on him a few days back, but he pushed her away, thinking of her as a stranger because he had visited his uncle’s pack for the first time and so he was unfamiliar with everyone who was a new face to him.”
“Is… is she bad?” Artin questioned.
“No, sweetheart. Neither your real father nor your real mother is bad. Just like I told you, you will understand everything in a better way when you will grow older a little.”
“How much older?”
“Fourteen or fifteen? Old enough to understand the relationship between elder couples.” Caroline responded.
“Oh, okay!!” Artin didn’t force Caroline to tell everything to him immediately because as much as he was possessive of his mother, he loved her and trusted her in the same way.
“And you aren’t a leech of our lives. You are our pup. If anyone says anything like that to you again, then tell me, and I will deal with him or her personally.”

“Why are you asking this, Artin?” Caroline asked in confusion.

“Of course, he or she will,” Caroline replied.
