“Why did you leave me but not him?” Artin questioned when he was alone with Xavier’s mother.
“Sorry?” She looked at him in confusion. “When did I leave you, Artin?”
“You left me when I was born,” Artin said clearly. In the past two months, Xavier and Artin were being taught not to stress or irritate her in any way. Also, to be careful around her in terms of running or playing any indoor games. That was why Artin was talking with her calmly, unlike his behavior with Santino.
“Artin…”
“Why did you leave me? Didn’t you love me?”
“It’s not like that, Artin. You’re getting all wrong.” She tried to explain, but Artin was wiping his tears continuously.
“You… you don’t love me just like Xav, do you?” he questioned again.
“Artin, baby! I’m not your mother.” She clarified, reaching near him. She wiped Artin’s tears. “I know who your mother is, but I’m not the right person to talk about it. You should talk with Artemis and Caroline about it, okay?”
“But… but…” Artin didn’t know what to speak, so he just looked at his aunt in confusion. “You and Uncle San are a couple.”
His aunt looked at xdcr5the tension. How could she explain to a six-year-old boy that pups could bear even when grown-up people weren’t a couple?
“It’s complicated to explain. And to be honest, I don’t know what exactly I should tell you.” She mumbled. “But yes, I will surely suggest you talk about it with your Papa and Mamma. They will have all the answers to your questions.”
“Oh”
“And I love you just like I love Xav.” She said, kissing his cheek. She wanted to add that ‘he was also her son. After all, he was her mate’s pup.’ but she cut her tongue in the middle. She knew about the conversation between Santino and him that had happened before, and she also knew that Artin was pissed at Santino. But she didn’t know that the next nuclear bomb would have dropped on her.
“Don’t tell Mamma and Papa about it,” Artin said, showing his puppy eyes.
“Okay. I won’t.”
Little did they know, Caroline’s soul had already heard their conversation and returned back to her body.
“What’s the update?”
“Our pup wants to talk about it with everyone for now except us,” Caroline said, sitting on the bed. “But I’m positive that he will come to us to know about his mother.”

At Night!!
“Is Xavier’s bag ready?” Caroline asked his mother.
“Yes!!” She replied with a smile. “He is so excited to go with you and celebrate Christmas with his grandparents. I would have accompanied you all if I wouldn’t have been in the last month of the pregnancy.” She added with a sad face.
“Don’t worry; your family members will be here at the time of delivery.”
“I’m not sad about not meeting my parents, but I’m sad because I won’t be able to meet my love, Calvin. I so wanted to meet him and his daughter.”
“Did I hear ‘MY LOVE’?” Santino growled, entering the room.
“Nooooooo,” She pouted, shaking her head. Santino frowned and grabbed a file from the table. He left the room in anger. Once he left, both his mate and Caroline started laughing.
“You knew that he was nearby; that’s why you used ‘MY LOVE’ for Calvin, didn’t you?” Caroline asked.
“Yeah! I sometimes tease him in that way.” She agreed and brought some gifts from the wardrobe. “These are some gifts from my end for all my family members, Calvin, and his daughter.” She added, giving Caroline seven gift boxes.
Both kept talking for a while until Artin walked into the room.
“Where is Xav, Artin?” Artin’s aunt asked, finding him alone.
“He is with Grandpa, listening to stories from him,” Artin replied and looked at Caroline. “Mamma!! It’s urgent.”
“One minute,” Caroline said and looked at her sister-in-law, who smiled, understanding her situation. Caroline gave a couple of gifts to Artin to take into her room, telling him that she would join him after a minute.
“I’m sorry. I’m leaving our conversation in between.”
“It’s fine. Somewhere I know what he wants to talk about with you.”

On the other side!!
Artemis was already sitting on the bed and observing his pup walking back and front like an old man and waiting for Caroline.
“You can tell me what’s that urgent discussion.” He offered.
“No. Mamma said she would be joining us soon. Let’s wait for her.” Artin said and looked at the door. “And she is finally here.”
“So, what is that urgent matter, sweetheart?” Caroline asked, picking him in her arms and making him sit on her lap after settling in the bed.
“Mamma!! I’m not a baby.” Artin whined.
“You’reYou're my baby, so stop whining,” Caroline said sternly, giving no room for discussion. “Now tell us what is going in your tiny head?”
“Mamma, Papa!! I met a vamp today who said that she was your friend.” Artin said, looking at Caroline. “Her name was… umm.. Erica. She told me that Uncle San is my real father and neither he nor my real mother loved me, that’s why they… they left me when I was born.” Artin finally shared what had been going in his mind for a long.
Caroline tightened her grip around him and kissed his cheek to boost his confidence so that he could confidently tell everything.
