My ‘Healing’ Game Chapter 113

Having handled many cases, Han Fei had also amassed considerable experience. He promptly started searching for the name Qu Yun in news reports of past cases and soon found what he was looking for. Ten years ago, a wife-killing case occurred in Xinhu Far Suburb where the perpetrator, who often abused his wife, ultimately caused her death. The murderer had been executed, but it was noteworthy that they had a child. The father had killed the mother, and the father was also sentenced to death. The child, both a relative of the murderer and a family member of the victim, had considered suicide after the tragedy but was timely rescued by the police. To protect the child from further harm by local gossip, the police sent him to live with his uncle. The subsequent reports mainly focused on that innocent child, who hadn’t done anything wrong, yet everyone around him shunned him. His classmates didn’t want to sit with him, and his uncle, always reminded of his tragically deceased sister when seeing him, barely interacted with him, merely giving him some money each month to ensure he wouldn’t starve. "Qu Yun’s child is still alive, called Qu Wenhou," Han Fei decided to meet him after the shoot if possible, wanting to help the child convey his feelings. The afternoon was for scenes with adversaries, and the shooting pace had noticeably slowed down; the psychological pressure was immense on the actors, especially a young girl named Jinnian, who even forgot her lines due to Han Fei’s overly immersive acting. At six in the evening, having finished his scenes, Han Fei left in style, not even stopping for food as he hurried to the child’s uncle’s house. The address he had seen in the report was ten years old, and he wasn’t sure if he would find the place. After buying a box of yogurt and a fruit basket at a roadside supermarket, Han Fei entered a very dilapidated neighborhood, which was poorly maintained and had no security at the entrance. "Excuse me, does Qu Wenhou’s family live here?" He knocked for a long time before a man with a sharp, monkey-like face opened the door, "Who are you?" "Hello, I’m looking for Qu Wenhou." "Are you his friend? He’s at the store, go find him there," "That child was only seven ten years ago, he should still be in school now, shouldn’t he?" "He doesn’t want to go to school, who’s to blame?" The man said in a rude tone and impatiently gave out the store’s address. Taking the items from Han Fei, he didn’t even let him enter the house, seemingly treating anyone related to Qu Wenhou with disdain. Using his phone for navigation, Han Fei made his way to a convenience store not far from the neighborhood. The store was in a secluded location with no customers or staff inside. "Isn’t the child here?" Han Fei walked around the store and suddenly heard arguing from the back alley; he quietly made his way there. Five hooligans had cornered a boy dressed in a store uniform against the wall, one of them wore a school uniform from a nearby high school and had his left arm in a bandage. "Do you think that just by not going to school anymore, this will all be over?" "In school, you had teachers protecting you. Who’s going to protect you now? Keep telling the teachers we’re bullying you, why don’t you?" "He thinks that by changing schools, nobody will know about his past. Then he runs off to try and make friends, how laughable." Several delinquent students took turns speaking, and the frail boy surrounded by them finally exploded, "I have never provoked you! Why do you always target me?" "Who is targeting you? We’re just stating the facts. We just want to expose your true face to everyone. Whether others want to be your friend is their business." The student with a bandage pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, "Besides, you were the first to throw a punch. It seems you indeed carry your dad’s genes, a true son. Your mom getting killed probably wasn’t because she was unfaithful." "Say that again, you motherfucker!" The seemingly frail boy, like a beast, lunged directly at the bandaged student, and the four around him couldn’t hold him back. The two sides immediately scuffled together. Despite appearing very frail, the boy fought fiercely. Unfortunately, the other side had too many people, and he was pinned to the ground. With his face pressed against the ground, the boy’s beautiful eyes were filled with ferocious light. He struggled desperately, but no one came to save him. The bandaged student was right. In school, he had teachers to protect him. Once out of school, he was on his own. "You guys stop it now!" Han Fei grabbed two of the delinquents by the collar, throwing them aside, then he moved the boy, dressed in a store uniform and covered in dust, behind him. "Mister, this doesn’t concern you, does it? He was always the first to start hitting. My arm got broken by him. Do you know how much that hurts?" The five delinquents were not willing to let the boy behind Han Fei go. "It’s true, he was always the first to start, but the ones with foul mouths are you guys. You really do deserve a beating." Han Fei looked around and, seeing the surveillance outside the convenience store, decisively took the boy deeper into the alley. "We deserve it? You love meddling so much; do you know that meddling has its price?" The five, not very old delinquents, directly followed into the alley. "Little brats who haven’t even grown a full set of hair yet, talking to me about consequences?" Han Fei saw that the five delinquents had entered deeper into the alley, and a smile appeared on his face, "You like playing in society so much, I might as well let you experience a harsh beating a bit earlier. I’m doing this for your own good." Han Fei had the boy stand back. When the five delinquents rushed at him, he burst forth with all his strength! His strength might be inferior to that of professional fighters, but after training under Fierce Ghost and murderers, his reactions were incredibly quick. Fighting five on one was definitely at a disadvantage, so he had to concentrate his power to take one down first. Han Fei kicked directly at the chest of the first delinquent, then dodged an incoming fist, landing a heavy punch on the jaw of the second. The skills of the two sides were not on the same level; even if they hit Han Fei, it didn’t hurt much, but if they got hit by him, it was hard for them to stand up again. In less than half a minute, four delinquents were already down. Han Fei grabbed the student with the bandaged arm in front of him, "What price have I paid?" "Do you know why I didn’t just beat you up directly, but waited for you all to enter the alley?" Han Fei’s cold eyes stared at the student. "I don’t know." The student’s face was pale. The serious Han Fei had a very terrifying aura, and the student was genuinely frightened. "Looks like you’re not cut out for being a delinquent. Better go back and study properly." Han Fei threw the student aside, then turned to the frail-looking boy, "He really does have a foul mouth, you might as well take advantage of the absence of others and give him a good beating." "Really? Can I?" The boy in store uniform clenched his fists. "Of course, there are no cameras here."
