Ruby took a deep, shaky breath as she looked around the dimly lit room.
The walls were quiet, empty.
There was no one here.
Yet, the heat pooling in her stomach was becoming unbearable.
Her throat felt dry, her breath uneven.
Her body wasn’t listening to her commands anymore. The drug was doing its work, igniting something deep inside her, making her skin feel too tight, too sensitive.
She turned toward the bed.
It was a beautiful piece, with a vintage frame, the posts carved with delicate designs, draped in luxurious red silk sheets.
She didn’t want to be intimate with some stranger.
But she needed to do something.
Her legs felt weak, shaky. Her mind was fogged with need.
She swallowed hard, forcing herself onto the bed.
She quickly pulled off her robe, tossing it aside.
Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her lips parting slightly, breath coming in soft pants.

She touched herself, trying to ease the ache, trying to soothe the unbearable heat.

His soft blue hair, his delicate features, the way his plump lips looked so inviting.

She imagined biting his lips, teasing him, hearing his soft gasps. Her mind wandered lower, imagining how his body would shiver under her touch. How she would pin him down.
How she would kiss the curve of his neck, leaving marks only she could claim.
Her breathing grew heavier.

Kaelan stood inside the bathroom, gripping the towel in his hands as he peeked through the slightly open door, his eyes widening in absolute disbelief.

An unknown witch was sprawled out on his bed.
She was touching herself.

He wasn’t new to the idea of obsessive fans, there were plenty who tried to track him down, send him letters, or sneak into places they weren’t supposed to be.
Breaking into his damn room and doing... that?
He clenched his jaw, his fists tightening.
His first thought was to storm over there and throw her out but then, his eyes drifted back to her.
The dim lighting of the room hadn’t let him see her properly before, but now that he was standing this close, he could.
And what he saw made his breath hitch.
Her curves were flawless, her skin flushed, glistening slightly in the soft glow of the light. Her hands moved sensually, her fingers trailing down her own body with an intimacy.

He felt a sudden rush of anger and another feeling he didn’t want to admit. It was too much for him. Without stopping to think, he walked forward quickly.
His patience was gone.
"What the heck are you doing in my room?!" Kaelan’s voice rang through the space, filled with disbelief and anger.
His piercing gaze locked onto the witch on his bed, waiting for a damn explanation.
Ruby’s eyes snapped open, her vision clearing from the haze of heat and desire.
A ghost was standing right beside the bed.
Her eyes widened in pure shock as she realized—she was completely naked.
"Who are you?!" she demanded, panic surging through her as her hands frantically searched for her robe.
Seeing her struggle, the he threw a towel at her. Ruby, stunned, caught it and stood up from the bed.
Kaelan cursed and turned away.
"Cover yourself, shameless witch!"
Ruby, still shocked, caught the towel and instantly wrapped it around her, her fingers gripping the soft fabric tightly. The pleasant scent of fresh soap and citrus hit her nose, but she had no time to process it.
How did she end up here?
She had run. She had escaped. She had entered a random room.
And now she was standing here, half-naked, in front of some unknown ghost.
This was so embarrassing.
She turned, about to move—only to realize the towel barely covered anything.
Her bare back and long legs were still exposed.
Kaelan assumed she had already wrapped a towel around herself, so he turned...
The moment he realized his mistake, he cursed loudly and quickly looked away, rubbing his temples in frustration.
"Shameless witch! Just because you have a good figure doesn’t mean you can walk around flaunting it!"
Ruby’s face burned red.
"Sorry!" she blurted out, quickly pulling the towel tighter around her body.
Her eyes darted around the dimly lit room, and she finally spotted her robe discarded on the floor.
She rushed toward it, her heart pounding with embarrassment.
Once she had finally wore herself properly, Kaelan, still muttering curses under his breath, turned on the light.
The sudden brightness flooded the room, and Ruby finally got a good look at him.
She felt her breath hitch.
His sharp blue eyes, the golden hair falling slightly into his face, his sculpted features—he looked almost too perfect.
Kaelan, however, was just as shocked.
Because now that the room was lit, he could see her clearly.
And the first thing his eyes locked onto—
The same eyes he had seen beneath the scarf in the land car racing competition.
Ruby, feeling utterly humiliated, didn’t wait for him to say anything.
Without looking back, she turned toward the door and yanked it open.
"I’m sorry!" she said quickly before rushing out.
Kaelan snapped out of his shock.
But she was already gone.
"You, wait—!" Kaelan’s voice rang out as he chased after her.
Ruby’s heart dropped.
Again?! Someone is chasing her again?!
Cursing her fate, she immediately ran faster, weaving through the crowded bar.
The chaos of the night was still in full swing, the air filled with music, laughter, and the smell of alcohol.
She bumped into someone, a witch with long white hair but she didn’t have time to stop or apologize.
She just kept running.
Kaelan was right behind her, determined to catch up until he wasn’t.
The moment he stepped into the main bar area, a group of witches and ghosts recognized him.
"Kaelan!" someone shrieked.
"Kaelan! It’s really him!"
In seconds, a crowd surrounded him.
Kaelan gritted his teeth in frustration as more voices called his name, hands reaching out to touch him.
Ruby, hearing the commotion, glanced back and saw he was trapped in the middle of the crowd.
She took the opportunity and slipped out of the bar.
The cool night air hit her, and she exhaled a long breath of relief.
Goodness! How did the night turn out ?!
And to make it worse–she lost money!
How the hell was she supposed to get home now?!
Great. Just great. Looks like she’d have to sleep on the street.
She sighed heavily, rubbing her temples as she walked straight ahead, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle into her bones.
Her head pounded, the effects of the drug still faintly lingering, but she ignored it.
She had been walking for an hour, passing through the market area, but she was too exhausted to continue.
She needed to find a wagon driver to take her home.
She would pay them once she reached her house.
Just as she turned toward the main street, she heard muffled voices.
"Why is he sleeping here?"
"His knees are bleeding..."
"Tsk, poor thing. But I can’t take him to a healer—I don’t have money."
Ruby’s brows furrowed.
She had no interest in getting involved, but something about the tone of their voices made her pause.
She tried to walk away.
But her curiosity got the better of her.
She sighed, turned back, and pushed through the small crowd of witches who were whispering.
As she stepped forward, their voices continued.
Ruby finally got a clear look at the person lying on the ground.
And her blood ran cold.
Her voice came out in a sharp gasp, panic gripping her as she rushed forward.
Julian lay crumpled on the ground, his pale face streaked with dried tears.
His knees were scraped and bleeding.
His head looked injured, faint traces of blood staining his soft blue hair.
His chest barely rose with each breath.
Ruby felt something inside her snap.
What the hell was he doing here?!
