Chapter 79
My fingers barely touched the door when Enzo caught up, forcefully slamming my head against it, causing me excruciating pain and dizziness. I winced, trying to keep my body upright, but the impact of him was too strong.
"Enzo... you..." In pain and dazed, I could only whimper softly.
Enzo stared coldly at me, his large, rough hand pressing my head, refusing to let go. "You want to run away from me so badly? If I knew you were like this, I would have killed that scoundrel who tempted you and his entire family, so they couldn't lead you further into those temptations."
My head was spinning so much that I couldn't see clearly, but I heard his words clearly.
"You're insane, a murderer! LET ME GO!" I yelled, hoping someone outside would hear and come to rescue me, but I was too deluded to believe in such hope when I saw Enzo holding a syringe.
At that moment, I realized there was no escape. I looked at him in horror, then at the syringe in his hand, and my anger and helplessness were easily extinguished.
Trembling, I asked, "Enzo... What are you planning to do? Stop joking... It's not funny... Please, let me go... Don't bring that thing near me..." Seeing the syringe approaching only intensified my despair and powerlessness. I had no strength to overpower Enzo; he could hold me firmly with just one hand.
Shortly after, I felt a numbing pain creeping from my neck. In a matter of seconds, my entire body became weak and powerless. The sensation of the liquid entering my body left me completely silent. Enzo whispered in my ear.
"Everything will be fine, everything is fine now, darling." He tossed the syringe aside and released his grip on me. I fell to the ground, my vision growing dimmer and darker.
Before losing consciousness, I heard Enzo say, "We will be together forever, no one can separate us."

Darkness enveloped everything, and I couldn't see anything. There was no faint light to be found. Strange sounds, sometimes like conversations, sometimes like horrifying screams, echoed around me. But despite my attempts to ask, no one replied, and I chased after the source of those sounds.
After a while, I saw the silhouette of a girl. I cautiously approached her and asked, "Who are you? Do you know where we are? Are you okay, girl?"
She didn't respond, didn't even turn to look at me, just stood there in silence with her back towards me. It wasn't until I was just three steps away from her that she finally turned around, and I recoiled in horror.
"R-Rika? Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be dead?" I panicked, wondering if I was dead too and that's why I could see Rika.
Rika gave a demonic smile, and then one of her eyes fell out, followed by her body being torn apart as if by some demonic force right before my eyes.
"Payback... Payback... Payback... Why are you still alive? You have to die, you have to die like me... It hurts so much... I want your skin... It's all your fault... It's all your fault... It's all because of you... I had to die because of you... AAAAAAA..." Rika screamed in madness, wanting to kill me, cursing me, and placing all the blame on me.
I continued to shake my head, crying in fear, "I... I didn't do anything wrong... I didn't do anything to you... why are you blaming me... don't come any closer... get away from me..."
"That's right, it's all your fault, Flora... if it weren't for you, my family and I wouldn't be in this situation... Flora, it's all your fault, and you must pay for it!" Ron stepped out of the shadows from the beginning, his gaze icy as he repeatedly told me that I had to pay for my actions. I had never seen Ron look at me with such indifference before.
"Ron... I'm... I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." I knelt down, my gaze fixed on some undefined point as I repeated the words, not even knowing what I was saying.
"Mom!" A loud cry jolted me awake, and at that moment, I realized it was all just a terrible nightmare. Rika, she was dead and couldn't come back, let alone harm me... it was all just a nightmare... but why was I dreaming about Rika...
I still wasn't completely calm after that terrifying nightmare. It was the first time I had dreamt of a dead person coming after me, especially one who had been Enzo's lover. My body was covered in sweat, and my hands were still trembling.
"Mom, are you okay?" Rollo looked at my actions with confusion. His words helped me calm down a little. As I realized it was just Rollo and me in the room, I rushed to pick him up and move towards the door.
But the door was locked. I turned to Rollo anxiously and asked, "Quickly, tell me, where's Enzo? Who brought you in here?"
In my memory, I only remembered Enzo injecting some strange liquid into me, and then I didn't remember anything else. When I woke up, I was lying on the bed with Rollo beside me. At least in this desperate situation, Rollo had saved my soul.
"Dad said you were tired, so he let you rest here. He went out to take care of some things," Rollo replied casually. I urgently held onto the boy's hand and asked, "Did Enzo say where he went? What is he doing? Did he tell you anything?"
Enzo was not a normal person now. He not only abused his power to oppress those who displeased him but also committed murder. He had admitted all of these things to me. Enzo had manipulated everything, even the police. I used to think the police needed more time to find the culprit, but it wasn't that they needed more time; they couldn't continue the investigation.
Now I was afraid that Enzo would go after Ron and cause him harm. If anything happened to Ron, I would regret it for the rest of my life.
"Dad didn't tell me those things," Rollo said, and his words left me disappointed and frustrated. Even though I knew what Enzo was doing, I felt powerless to do anything about it.
I started searching for anything that could open this door. But no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find anything. Apart from the bed, chairs, and some decorations, the room has nothing special left. Those decorations were completely useless, and in frustration, I threw them all towards the door.
"AAAAA... Damn it!" I yelled in anger.
At this point, I truly couldn't care about anything anymore. This time, I wasn't detained by my ex-husband but by a murderer. He could eliminate us at any moment, even if he didn't harm the kids. I was starting to panic.
"Mom, please don't throw things," Rollo tried to stop me. But I couldn't think straight anymore. "Are you okay? He's keeping us here, and if we can't escape, he might..." I knew it was foolish to discuss death with a child, but I couldn't stay calm anymore. I just wanted to get out of here quickly.
"But no matter what you do, you can't open the door," Rollo said, and I knelt in front of the door, looking at it with a sense of despair creeping over me. "Rollo... I want to get out of here... what do we do?"
