This was what infuriated Song Tengfei the most. He gloomily went upstairs, fetched the property deed, and said as he came downstairs, "Since she’s my daughter, I will personally accompany her to register her household."
The property deed was something Song Tengfei would never casually entrust to others; he only felt at ease holding it himself. This was the real reason he was willing to accompany Si Mingjing to register her household.
Si Mingjing, inwardly undisturbed, followed Song Tengfei to the police station to register her household. Afterwards, they went to the civil affairs center to have her ID card photo taken.
After all the procedures were completed, Song Tengfei said impatiently, "Since it was Old Master Su who brought you back, you should temporarily stay at the Su Family’s place. On Earth, once children are over eighteen, parents no longer have a legal obligation to support them. I have other matters to attend to, so I’m leaving now."

Si Mingjing explained a bit more clearly, "I get along very well with the Ye Family’s child, and he invited me to stay at their house."
Song Tengfei’s voice still carried a faint tremor of disbelief. "Which Ye Family are you talking about?"
Si Mingjing spoke in a gentle voice, feigning unfamiliarity with Earth’s influential families. "I don’t know which Ye Family," she said, "but that child’s father is called Mo Yinhe."
Song Tengfei took a deep breath. This was too unexpected! "Those online rumors... about Mo Yinhe wanting to marry you... are they true?" he asked.
Si Mingjing didn’t miss the glint of opportunism in Song Tengfei’s eyes. It was as if he imagined becoming Mo Yinhe’s father-in-law if she were to marry him.
A derisive curve played on Si Mingjing’s lips. I didn’t expect Song Tengfei to take the bait so easily. He shouldn’t get his hopes up, though.
Si Mingjing immediately retorted, "Of course, it’s false. It’s just childish mischief. That child saw my marriage announcement online and signed up, but since he’s underage and doesn’t meet the requirements, he registered using his dad’s name. However, the old lady likes me a lot and said she wants to introduce me to potential partners. The Old Madam also said... Oh, never mind, it’s nothing."
Si Mingjing bit her lip, her tone hesitant as if holding something back.
"What did the Old Madam say?" Song Tengfei pressed, having taken the bait.
Si Mingjing bit her lip lightly, her voice tinged with an air of difficulty. "The Old Madam said it would be better if I wasn’t a daughter of the Song Family."
Song Tengfei tensed. "What does that mean?"
Si Mingjing hesitated for a long moment before saying, "It seems the Old Madam of the Ye Family was very angry. She said their family had never been threatened in the Imperial Capital before, and that only the insignificant Song Family was foolish enough to not know its place. She also said she could make the Song Group go bankrupt in three seconds."
Song Tengfei’s face turned ashen with fear.
Si Mingjing said, affecting an expression of lingering fear, "But you can rest assured, Dad. I pleaded with the Old Madam of the Ye Family, and she said she’s willing to give me a chance to redeem myself."
"Redeem yourself? What does that mean?"
