For years, Veronica had invited him to join her at the Murray family home for Mary's birthday. This year marked the first time she hadn't extended the invitation, yet Cullen seemed completely oblivious to this change.
After ending the call, Cullen returned the phone to Sabrina and delivered his instructions with characteristic authority. "Your mother will collect you tomorrow evening for Granny's celebration. I expect you to behave properly on Saturday and stay close to her."
Sabrina's lips formed a small pout. "But I wanted to..."
Cullen's silent stare cut through her protest like ice. His expression remained completely impassive, yet the weight of his disapproval filled the space between them.
Understanding that negotiation wasn't an option, Sabrina surrendered with obvious reluctance. "Fine, I'll go."
Cullen's approval came with a slight nod. "That's my girl."
Sabrina's pout deepened, but she pressed forward with her own demand. "I still want to visit Niall on Sunday, and you're coming with me this time."
A ghost of a smile touched Cullen's lips. "Agreed."
Friday evening found Veronica making her way to the Dennis estate after another long day at the office.
Cullen's presence in the main living area caught her attention immediately. His early return home was highly unusual.
