Chapter 228 A Day of Breaking Free
Nick Cage seemed to have fallen asleep again.
Veronica Parker didn't dare to provoke Nick Cage for fear that he would not be able to leave after provoking him. The loss outweighed the gain.
She just sat there waiting for Nick Cage to wake up but she must have been so tired the night before that accidentally put herself to sleep.
When she woke up there was no sign of Nick Cage on the bed. She did not know what the time was when she woke up.
Veronica Parker got out of bed.
Seeing that Nick Cage wasn't in the room, she decided to go downstairs.
She saw that her bag was still lying on the sofa in the hall. She took out her cell phone and looked at it. It was already 10:30.
She can't believe she slept for another three hours!
Behind her came the sound of footsteps, calm and steady, and every sound seemed to step on her fragile heart.
She didn't need to look to know who's there.
Veronica Parker looked back and the black figure made her pupils contract.
"Can I go now?" Veronica Parker asked.
Nick Cage glanced at her and went to the kitchen.
Veronica Parker followed, she saw that there was lunch served on the table.
She stood there, just looking at Nick Cage with no intention of sitting down.
It was only after Nick Cage's intimidating stare that she sat down reluctantly.
"Did you mean what you said last night?" Veronica Parker asked while eating.
"Your performance is not that bad."
Veronica Parker was speechless. All she really wants that time was to buckle his face with a bowl.
Veronica Parker went to the TV station in Nick Cage's car. When they got out of the car, the extravagant Rolls-Royce left.
It was not easy but she finally got out of Winter Villa.
For her, there was nothing more terrible than that place.
She fastened her steps once she was at the TV station when suddenly she heard an angry voice.
"Veronica Parker! Don't you dare come to the TV station again!"
Veronica Parker looked back and saw Rachel Hamilton coming towards her. When she was standing in front of her, Rachel Hamilton looks like she was about to lose her face.
"Why do you care so much about it?" Veronica Parker said then turned around and quickly went up the steps.
As soon as she went up the steps, she was stopped by Rachel Hamilton "Did I already let you go?"
"Why are you telling me to do things? I don't seem to have anything to do with you, don't I?"
"That doesn't matter. You seduced my Nick. Didn't you know that I'm his fiancee, you're his mistress!" Rachel Hamilton curses her and people passing by looked at them curiously.
Veronica Parker looked at her and said calmly, "In fact, there is one thing I don't understand. Why don't women blamed themselves when they cheat on other women? I know you are his fiancee I would not dare to get him from you, alright? Just like last night, I popped up on purpose to let you find out that he took me in but there's nothing I can do about it. Who's to blame then? "
"Veronica Parker, I'm not done with you!" Rachel Hamilton was so angry that she reached out and pushed Veronica Parker.
That push caused her to back out a few but she was able to stop herself from falling.
Rachel Hamilton didn't expect that Veronica Parker would easily recover. Veronica Parker took the chance to push Rachel Hamilton.
"Ah!" Rachel Hamilton fell on the steps with a thug and rolled down the steps.
She rolled to the bottom of the steps before she came to a stop, Rachel Hamilton was moaning in pain, "Veronica Parker! How dare push me like this? You're wicked."
Veronica Parker found what Rachel Hamilton said to be very funny, 'Isn't she the one who does it first? She's crazy. She had the audacity!'
Veronica Parker looked at her coldly, Rachel Hamilton was in a very bad mood.
As she walked on, she stepped on the back of Rachel Hamilton's hand that caused Rachel Hamilton to scream, "How dare ---"
"For God's sake! Why can't you all just leave me alone? You label yourselves as very important people but why can't you just ignore me and move on with your lives? Nick Cage threatened me to be with him and I cannot go against him. Even I go against him I don't know if I can take the repercussions." Veronica Parker was so angry that she could not move her foot on the back of Rachel Hamilton's hand.
"Veronica Parker, get off me! I won't let you get away with this!" Rachel Hamilton tried to withdraw her hand but Veronica Parker stepped harder on her hand until she looked miserable and embarrassed.
"Why would a superstar like you have to deal with me? You can just go to Nick Cage directly. Maybe if you can make him dislike me then I will even be grateful to you," Veronica Parker said before she let go of her hand.
