"Sorry" Veronica urged Tracy to enlighten her

Nick Cage's character is really terrible. It even seemed like he is a devil reincarnate.
Veronica thought of how always having a woman around is considered normal for Mr. Cage knowing the fact that he already has a fiancé named Rachel Hamilton. It should be considered more normal if he already got married. "What kind of woman does Mr. Cage wants by the way?" Veronica dared to ask.
"Didn't you really understand what I meant?" Tracy asked.
Veronica Parker looked stunned and then said, "That's impossible."
"If you considered it impossible, then why do you want me to hide it?" Tracy countered.
Veronica frowned slightly. That is indeed the reason why Tracy did not spill the truth to Nick. If she would continue to deny it, Tracy might become suspicious of her and would eventually reveal the truth to Nick. "Yes, I like him, and I don't want him to know." Veronica had no choice but to admit it.
"You better make sure he will never know then"

After their conversation, Veronica thought if she would have to hide the truth forever. The term "forever" is such a vague concept for her. She can't even guarantee how long 'forever' will be.
She felt like she always has to keep her guards up when she's around Nick. Otherwise, Nick might discover her hidden feelings for him. She has to be careful.
She called Isabella again when she regained her ability to think straight. She told Isabela her predicament and that she was not able to leave that day.

She squinted and smiled. "You are finally back, Mr. Cage." Nick faintly withdrew his eyes and threw his coat to Bob.
Before Bob reached out, Veronica already grabbed his clothes with a straight face. "I got it! No big deal!"
She took his cloth and hung them to the designated area. Nick Cage went to the bathroom to wash his hands. Veronica followed, leaned against the door, and held the door frame. Her attitude was different from that of the morning. Nick paid no heed to her. He concentrated on washing his slender big hands instead.
Even if he's merely washing his hands, it made people feel that he is so proud inviolable, and with indescribable charm.
As soon as he finished, Veronica handed him the towel to wipe his hands.
