Chapter 172 The Bracelet
"Mom just washed it, don't get it dirty." Veronica reminded that looking at their round cute behavior, the girl's heart exploded.
Lily came out of the sheet and hugged Veronica's leg. "Cathy, I caught Cathy!"
Veronica laughed. "Look, who did you just catch again?"
Lily looked up and her beautiful eyes were bright. "Oh! It's my mom!"
"Well, go there and play!"
After having lunch, Veronica spent more time with her children. They played till they got tired and took them to take a nap.
And then she got a call from Chloe Bowen.
Veronica didn't know what it was, so she answered, "What can I do for you?"
"Come out today and have tea with your mother this afternoon!"
"I want to be with the children."
"Is there no one to take care of them? Where's Isabella? "
"I seldom take a day off. Let me rest here and I want to spend more time with my children."
"It's all right, honey. I promise you it won't take long. You wait for the children to take a nap, and then come out so that you can go back early."
Veronica surely understands Chloe's desire to have tea with her, so she finally agreed.
But she didn't expect that when she got to the place, there were not only Chloe Bowen at the table, but also another young man who's also drinking tea.
Chloe's face lit up as she saw Veronica walking on her way to the table. "Let me introduce him to you. This is the son of your Uncle Cage partner company. I happened to see him, so I asked him to sit down and have a chat." Chloe Bowen said.
"Hello. My name is Buck Isaiah" When Buck Isaiah saw Veronica Parker, his eyes are shining in admiration. "We've met before."
Veronica can't remember when or where she saw such a person.
"At your Uncle Cage's birthday party, don't you remember?" Chloe Bowen said as if she heard what's in Veronica's mind.
But still, Veronica certainly doesn't remember, but she does know about the birthday party.
Veronica Parker held out her hand but didn't give the smiley face to greet him plainly. "Hello."
"Come and sit down, don't just stand up." Chloe Bowen pulled Veronica to her side to sit down. "What would you like to drink?"
"Just water, please." Veronica Parker said. "I can't stay too long. I have something else to do later."
"I know. But let me order you a milkshake." Chloe Bowen took the liberty of ordering her a decent drink, which was strawberry-flavored. Then Chloe smiled at her and said, "Girls should drink Strawberry Milkshakes, right?"
Buck Isaiah smiled and nodded. "Yes, it is. The first time I had a birthday party, I was impressed by Miss Parker. It was the very first time I saw a natural girl without makeup. "
"Yes, my Veronica never wears makeup. She has always been a beauty since childhood." Chloe Bowen also praised her daughter.
Veronica was uncomfortable to sit next to him.
After sitting for more than half an hour, she knew she had to end this meeting.
The conversation revolves around her. It's never natural you just happened to meet someone willing to sit down with you and talk over the same matter.
It feels like a blind date.
Just as Veronica couldn't help asking to leave, her cell phone rang.
After seeing the caller ID, her hand shook and she almost knocked over the milkshake on the table.
"What's the matter?" Confused Chloe asked.
"It's no one. I'll go outside to answer the phone. Excuse me." Veronica got up and walked out of the coffee shop and went outside to calm her mind. Why does Nick Cage calling her at this time? The mobile phone is still ringing. Dare not to snub him, Veronica. She reminded herself. Hands still trembling, Veronica answered the call. "Mr. Cage ..."
"Where is it?"
Veronica's eyes automatically fell on her empty wrist, because she was afraid that Nick Cage would know her whereabouts, so she would take off the bracelet and try to make her voice normal, "It's at home." That's all she can say because the bracelet is at home.
"Are you ready to lie and be exposed?"
