Elder Valkan said there were phenomena. The circle would light up with the color of his soul; it would start sucking energy voraciously. If the grade of the soul was high, even people within that range of area would be alerted. But that was only for souls above Green grade.
Ethan also asked what the range of area was from which a soul would absorb energy.
For Green grade, it was a 300-meter radius. For Blue grade, it was 1 kilometer. For Purple, it became 5 kilometers. And for Violet, Valkan didn’t know the exact range, but it should be around 50–80 kilometers in radius.
Besides, the person going through the awakening process would also be able to see his soul and the color it was radiating.
Ethan was looking at the majestic, tiny black sword,at the size of his palm,floating in his heart, in another space like the core.

The most senior one came immediately and said, "Don’t be afraid, Ryan. We are just some of your grandpas from this sect. No need to be so panicked. We came to check who was awakening, that’s all. Right?" the old man asked the other old men.

The old man smiled again and said, "I am Zerelith Malquer, the 2nd Ancestor of this sect. If you don’t mind, can you tell us which soul you have awakened?"
Ethan said, "It’s a sword."
Zerelith smiled radiantly, "Good, very good."
There were many types of souls. Even if the grade was higher,the types also mattered. For fighting, weapon souls were the best.
