After getting home, I did something I think I haven't done in quite a while, something that would have made me feel like shit previously, because I would have thought I was wasting time, time I could have spent training or grinding skills, I slept.
Something I loved so dearly before now felt like an insult to my powers, to what they could do, but honestly? I don't care, I deserve this rest, I deserve to sleep with all my family and daughter, Laura still didn't feel like sleeping on the bed, she was too used to the floor, to close my eyes for hours without thinking or training or creating spells, just sleep.
I didn't dream, though, there was no pyramid Obama or dancing robots, no running away from clowns or strange monsters, no being naked in class. I just lay there, in a sea of comforting darkness, my body swayed by imaginary waves as I relaxed.
Even in my sleep, I felt the presence of those I cared for and loved near me, the magical presence of Obsidian, the vitality of Ivy, the freedom of Zephyr, the power of Sol, the love of Mary, and the fear of abandonment from Laura, I felt those emotions, my body bathed in them as they got rapresent by different elements in certian ways, mana carried them into my body to noursih it, transfrming our bond into something far grater than just friendship, they were my family and I was their.
And so, 8 hours went by, and I had the best sleep of my whole life.
" You gained those from your powers?" Yao asked me.
" Yep," I said while showing him a strange green herb shaped like a hearth that emitted enough magic to be sensible even from someone who wasn't a mage.
" And you know what it does, I guess."
" I do, that's why I am here, my powers say it is safe to ingest and that it has no magical attachments, but just in case-"
" You want a super-powerful entity to interfere in case someone tries to cage you into something you don't want to."
" You added the superpowerful part because I still can't slap your bald head, am I right?"
I blocked an invisible slap coming from behind me, only to receive one I hadn't perceived from my back. It looks like Yao still has some hidden tricks after all.
" You can consume it, I don't feel any attachment to Bast, but even if you were to meet her, I don't think she would stop you, she isn't evil, even going as fast protecting her 'children' from diseases and evil spirits and fighting against her family to protect humanity."
" So big mommy goddess won't interfere, perfect." Before Yao could say anything else, I hate the herb.
The moment it touched my tongue, it dissolved into a tasteless liquid that seeped inside my body, and I felt the energy because that was no mana, spread throughout every single part of my and before I realised it, I wasn't in Kamar-Taj anymore.
Standing in front of me stood a Woman, with the capital W because of how hot she looks in all her 6 feet and 9 INCHES of height, the first person I had met in a while who stood just a little taller than me, though if I wished, I could become taller, but that would be too uncomfortable, her body was made of a strange black material with strange light appearing appearing every once in a while across her body, she had wild hair and filaments coming from her eyebros and hair, she is wearing only a bottom part, something like long skirt with cuts on the side, no shirt, and no shoes, and on her hip stood what I recognized as an Ashk a symbol of life in the egyptian pantheon, on her side is a panther black as the night and looking at me, she expresses a regality just by standing there and looking at me.
" Adrian, I can't say I expected your visit, but I also can't say your presence isn't welcome."
Though I heard her words, I just realised what the energy that had seeped into my body was: Divinity, a part of her divinity was in the herb, and that was what gave powers to the ones who ate it.
" I assume you're Bast."
" You are correct, and let me say, I am happy to see you in person." A smile appeared on her previously stone-like face, a small one, but still a smile; she is beautiful, one of the most beautiful beings I have ever seen, she is the description of perfection, I guess that's what you get when you are a goddess.
" Because of your actions and your attachment to nature, your willingness to protect others, and your ability to regrow forests across the world, helping animals, they are all somehow helping me. I am the goddess of protection, fertility, and domesticity. Every action, even that brings these to the world, makes me stronger and lets me help my children even more, so what you did made me able to save several of my children."
" You are welcome? I didn't do it for you, though."
" It matters not, I, as many other gods, represent such things, and was helped when you brought them on Earth, and having seen your character, I am aware you wouldn't accept a reward, so how about a connection?"
" Because I would like you help you, you are one of the few beings with power that doesn't let it cloud your decisions, you see beauty in life that few Gods see, a single human life is considered the same as an ant by most Gods, but some don't, though you are not a god yet, you are a Demigod, and your ascension to power will only bring you to one place, so let a God help a soon to be."

" Let's just hope they don't sacrifice children in my honour."
"Believe me, even if you were the god of children, some would still do that." She said in a tone of sadness, Must have gone through some cats' sacrifices.
" What would the exchange be?"
" You continue doing what you are doing, saving people, restoring nature, destroying the evil that fills this universe, and she will be there with you."
The 'she' Bast mentioned lounged at me, the black panther fell on me with all her weight, but my strength and endurance stopped me from falling. The cat tried to make me fall for a few more seconds, only to give up and then lie down around my feet.
" Yes, she is a shard of my divinity, think of her as a part of me, but still not me, treat her well, and she will do the same."
" I hope to meet you again, Adrian, the Demigod of Mana."
And just like that, I was back in Kamar-Taj, Yao once again in front of me, though his face was strange, the panther still lying around my feet, the ability to transport her inside my mana sea ingrained in my mind.
"Hey, guess who I just m-"
" They have attacked Krakoa."
