Colour me surprised when I discovered that the Redhead, whom I had covered in cheese and pepperoni, was none other than Black Widow, the unknown assassin of the Avengers. How I hadn't recognised her baffled me; glasses are more powerful than I thought.
" And who is the bald asshole?" I said while pointing at the black man who had tried to plant a localizer on me.
" Nick Fury, current head of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or SHIELD, to be shorter." He presented himself, his face and body movements showing no frindliness, he was serious fuck for sure, I hated the type, they are the hardest to trick into thinking you are an idiot.
" And you are Adrian Rivera, 18 years old, orphan, mutant, student at Xavier's Mansion."
I waited for a second to wait for some kind of reaction at the mention of me being a mutant, but seeing how no one reacted like an asshole and got disgusted, I looked back at Fury.
" Personal invasion aside, I am an ex-student."
Just as he was about to ask further questions, I mouthed a later with a smile, but my eyes were everything with happiness at the mention of Xavier, so he nodded, and didn't ask any further questions.
" You are a mutant?" It was the first words I heard coming out of Steve Rogers's mouth, it was a question I had heard asked a lot during my life, usually with a lot more hate, this time it was pure curiosity.
"Apparently, sure as hell don't feel like one though, I feel more like a mage."
" Magic doesn't exist." Peter retorted while rolling his eyes.
I looked at him, deadpanning at how stupid he was.
" Obsidian, could you come for a second?"
Hearing his name, he left Mary with Ivy, and directly popped on my head in its draconic glory.
Obsidian opened his mouth, and a fireball began forming, golden flames came out directly from his mouth, and as soon as he launched it, I opened a portal to the outside and closed it, not letting it cause any damage to anyone present.
" You can go back, thank you," I said while petting the head of Ob, making him purr like a cat.

" What were you saying?" I said while turning to Peter.
" Well, there are ways to explain those things, but I feel like I could come out on the losing end of the discussion, so I will stay silent."
" Magic 1 Science 0."
He rolled his eyes and asked another question, " What was that anyway? You just came in with a living vine and dragon, and I only now noticed."
" Friends, things that were attracted to my magic and started aiding me." I won't explain what Familiars are; let them think they are a weakness of mine.
" Do you by chance know James Howlett?" Steve asked when he felt that the discussion with Peter had finished.
" No? Could you describe him?"
" Rough like a piece of sandpaper, sideburns, claws coming out of his hands, very short."
" You know Logan?" How old was that fucker?
" I met him during World War II. He was a mutant who helped me in several missions. I am sure that if the world knew about what he did, the view of mutants would somewhat improve." He eyed Nick.
He was a war hero? But then why does he call himself differently? Memory loss from trauma, maybe? Well, it's not my problem.
" I am sure it wouldn't, people hate things regardless of what you tell them, the hate against mutants is so pointless that sometimes it feels forced, they describe them as some walking nukes able to destroy planets with a sneeze, do you know how rare that kind of power is? Less than 1% of the mutants are that powerful; most mutants have a weakness instead of powers. There is a guy whose mutation is just having a bird's body, weak bones, looking like he is about to die, and he can't even fly."
We continued chatting, letting time pass as we continued talking about life and things like that, Tony talked mostly with Reed, the only other mind the room able to keep up with him, Ben stayed with Bruce, Natasha with Susan, Cap with Nick to make sure he didn't plants microphones everywhere, and I stayed instead with Peter and Jhonny, sometimes talking with the oddbals that prefered remaining alone.
Every dozen minutes, Mary came to me to make me play with her or ask for some food. She also started warming up to Peter, his presence was jolly enough to make Mary not see him as a threat, she stayed away from Johnny, though; the face he made when she ran away from him was hilarious.
The night seemed to go perfectly, but then it all went downhill when the last members of the party arrived, people I knew quite well.
" Sorry for being late, Susan, we-" Ororo stopped herself after just arriving with a teleport as she looked at me.
She wasn't alone, though; Jean, Scott, Kitty, Kurt, and Rogue were with her, staring just as much as she did, all with different expressions.
The tension in the room could have been cut with a knife. I prepared myself, my veins glowing with different colours as my tattoos emitted a weak glow. Mary had already been brought away from Obsidian as Ivy coiled around my arm.
My mind expanded as I felt all the life in my surroundings. I felt the space around me shift, ready to work under my command, as Ivy pulsed with anger.
The first to break the silence was Rogue.
" Adrian-" She whispered, but got interrupted.
" YOU FUCKER." Scott shouted, his visor glowing red as he was about to attack.
I opened a portal under him and I welcomed him to the coldness of Antarctica, some kilometres away from here.
That surprised the group; they had never seen me able to do that, so they remained stunned at my gain of new powers.
" Anyone else wish to attack me? This is a neutral area, and WE don't want to disturb our friends, right?" I asked with a smile, a heartbeat slowly filling everyone's ears.
" Right." Ororo nodded, the others remained on guard though, the absence of one of their friend still lingering in their mind.
" Perfect," I said while opening another portal, making Scott return and land on his ass, shivering from the cold, snow covering part of his body.
"Y-Y-You fu-fuck-fucker." His visor once again started slowly glowing, but he stopped, most likely from Jean sending him a message through telepathy.
Ororo shut him down with a stare.
" Well then, that went better than I expected. Want some paunch?" I said with a smile, ignoring the stare of everyone else because of the exchange.
