Shen Jingqi was cleaning the cat's litter while texting with Yang Haotian.
"I'm downstairs, but which floor is your apartment?"
"I'm not home, I'm at the senior's place. Just come over directly."
"At the senior's place? Why are you over there?"

After sending the message, Shen Jingqi let out a big sigh, put down his phone, and continued cleaning the cat's litter.
Ever since Li Baiyu was discharged from the hospital, Shen Jingqi had been staying by her side.
He slept in the cat room every night.
After cleaning the litter, Shen Jingqi prepared cat food and water for it. When he finished, he looked at the time; it was nearly noon.
He went to the living room, sat on the sofa, picked up the remote from the coffee table, and turned on the TV.
A drama he liked was playing on TV, but he wasn't in the mood to watch it, his mind occupied with thoughts of when Yang Haotian would arrive.
Just then, the doorbell rang suddenly. Shen Jingqi stood up from the sofa, walked quickly to the door, and looked through the peephole. He saw Yang Haotian standing there with a gift bag in his hand.
"Haotian, you're here." Shen Jingqi opened the door and said with a smile.
"Yeah, what made you show up at the senior's place? It was hard to find you." Yang Haotian said as he walked in.
"Didn't I tell you? It's a long story. Have a seat first." Shen Jingqi brought Yang Haotian to the cat room to sit down.
Yang Haotian put the gift bag on the table and glanced around.
"Wow, the senior's place is quite fancy. Are you staying here these days?"
"Yeah, the senior won't let me leave." Shen Jingqi said, feeling a bit helpless.
"She won't let you leave, so you don't? You're really obedient, huh?" Yang Haotian teased.
"I'd like to leave, but the senior, she..." Shen Jingqi hesitated to continue.
"What? Did the senior threaten you?" Yang Haotian looked at him seriously.
"No, it's just..." Shen Jingqi found it hard to explain to Yang Haotian.
"Just what? Hurry up and tell me, you're killing me with suspense." Yang Haotian urged.
"The senior's health hasn't been great lately, and I'm worried something might happen if she's home alone, so I stayed to keep her company." Shen Jingqi said.

Yang Haotian let go of Shen Jingqi's arm.
"What? The senior hired you as her assistant?" Yang Haotian heard it all and his jaw dropped in surprise.
"Yeah." Shen Jingqi nodded.
"So you've been with her all these days?" Yang Haotian asked.
"Mm-hmm, she won't let me leave, and there's nothing I can do." Shen Jingqi shrugged.
"Are you planning to keep it up ?" Yang Haotian asked again.
"I don't know, just taking it one step at a time." Shen Jingqi sighed.
"Hey, Jingqi, you wouldn't happen to fancy the senior, would you?" Yang Haotian suddenly leaned in, patting Shen Jingqi on the shoulder.
"What nonsense are you spouting? There's no way I like her." Shen Jingqi hurriedly denied.
"Then why are you being so nice to her? Staying with her?" Yang Haotian pursued.
"I... I just can't bring myself to leave her alone; she's pitiful." Shen Jingqi said, flustered.
"Yeah right, don't be stubborn, I bet you've fallen for her." Yang Haotian gave him a look of understanding.
"I really haven't fallen for her, stop saying that." Shen Jingqi said, a bit anxious.
"Okay, okay, fine, you haven't fallen for her then. But honestly, the senior's so rich, it's normal to fall for her." Yang Haotian chuckled.
"I already said I haven't fallen for her, why are you still saying that?" Shen Jingqi was getting a bit upset.
"Alright, alright, I won't say it anymore, okay? Don't be mad." Yang Haotian apologized quickly upon seeing Shen Jingqi truly upset.
Shen Jingqi, seeing Yang Haotian apologize, couldn't stay angry and just kept quiet.
Just then, the sound of footsteps approached, and soon, Li Baiyu appeared at the door.
"Jingqi, who's talking?" Li Baiyu asked, looking at the two in the cat room.
"Oh, senior, this is my friend Yang Haotian, he came to hang out." Shen Jingqi stood up and introduced.
"Hello, Yang Haotian." Li Baiyu smiled and greeted Yang Haotian.
"Hello, senior." Yang Haotian smiled back.
"You guys chat, I'm going to rest now." Li Baiyu said and then turned to go back to her room.
"Take care, senior." Shen Jingqi said.
Once Li Baiyu's door was closed, Yang Haotian sat back on the sofa.
"Jingqi, is the senior really under a lot of pressure?" Yang Haotian asked in a lower voice.
"Yeah, really." Shen Jingqi nodded.
"Then you better keep her company and don't let her do anything silly." Yang Haotian advised.
"I know, I will." Shen Jingqi said.
"Hey, don't you think it's odd with the senior being so pretty and wealthy, what troubles could she possibly have?" Yang Haotian sighed.
"Everyone has their troubles; the senior is no exception." Shen Jingqi said.
"True enough. Hey, Jingqi, do you think the senior might have some unspeakable issues?" Yang Haotian suddenly said.
"What nonsense are you talking? The senior wouldn't do such things." Shen Jingqi was a bit displeased.
"Alright, alright, I won't say any more nonsense, okay? Don't be mad." Yang Haotian quickly apologized when he noticed Shen Jingqi was upset again.
Shen Jingqi ignored him and went to the kitchen to pour him a glass of water.
"Here, have some water." Shen Jingqi handed the glass to Yang Haotian.
"Thanks." Yang Haotian took the glass and took a sip.
They remained silent for a moment, before Yang Haotian spoke again.
"Jingqi, do you think the senior might really consider you her boyfriend?"
"What nonsense are you talking about? The senior could never consider me her boyfriend." Shen Jingqi immediately denied.
"Why not? You've been with her all these days, she must be developing a sense of reliance on you." Yang Haotian analyzed.
"That's just reliance, it's not really liking." Shen Jingqi said.
"Reliance over time can turn into real affection. You two are spending so much time together, maybe she really started to like you." Yang Haotian continued his analysis.
"Stop saying that, there's no way the senior would like me." Shen Jingqi said, feeling flustered.
"Why not? I think it's quite possible." Yang Haotian said earnestly.
