The weekend came around once more.
Olivia Zane did not ask to visit her parents’ home, and Titus Zane was also under a ban.
Every time Nathan Moore was resting at home, it was the greatest torment for Titus Zane.
Not for any other reason, but simply not wanting to face him.
Still weak, and with the wind howling outside, Titus Zane locked himself in his room, sketching on the canvas.
Back when he lived abroad, his everyday job was to keep on painting, so sketching on his canvas all morning did not bore him.
After lunch, he returned to his room to continue painting. When inspiration struck, Titus Zane could even spend days and nights in the studio, sometimes, Logan Ray would feed him his meals one bite at a time.
Now, it wasn’t inspiration, but some matters stemmed from the heart that led him to sit in front of the canvas and vent his mood through his brush.
Before he knew it, dusk had set in, but Titus Zane was still sitting in front of the canvas, drawing.
Auntie Liu gently knocked and appeared at the door, "Miss Zane, the master has instructed you to change into your gown as there’s a banquet to attend shortly."
"I’m not going." Titus Zane was still drawing on his canvas.
"Miss Zane, please don’t make things difficult for me..." Auntie Liu said, standing helplessly outside.
In this house, if Chun Ya was Olivia Zane’s exclusive nanny, then Auntie Liu was the quintessential housekeeper.
She not only had to prepare three meals a day but also convey the master’s messages and run errands.
Unlike Chun Ya, who was responsible only for taking care of the mistress’s daily needs.
"Tell Nathan Moore that I’m not well and it’s not suitable for me to go out."
Titus Zane said coldly, and as his words fell, a shadow cast over the light in the hallway.
Nathan Moore had been standing next to Auntie Liu at some point, his tall and slender figure overshadowing the chandelier, his handsome face utterly frigid.
"You won’t die. Go change!"
Titus Zane turned his head, his right hand holding a paintbrush, staring unblinkingly at the man in front of the door with an unyielding expression.
Without moving, it seemed like a silent defiance.
"Sister, why are you still painting? Hurry up, if we’re late, Felix Shaw will be upset," said Olivia Zane, somehow having made it up to the fourth floor; Chun Ya was pushing her wheelchair, arriving at Titus Zane’s bedroom door.
Nathan Moore’s gaze shifted, something fleeting in the abyss of his black eyes, and then he withdrew his gaze, coldly staring at the stubborn woman in front of the canvas.
Titus Zane turned his body back, dipped his brush into the oil paint, and continued his unfinished masterpiece.
"Whether Felix Shaw is happy or not is his business, I’m not familiar with him."
Felix Shaw was Nathan Moore’s good buddy, and today was his engagement.
Nathan Moore had received the news early on, and so had Olivia Zane, who had already changed into a rose-pink dress.
Titus Zane was the only one who had just gotten the news and was not feeling well. Now with this rush, anyone would get irritated.
"Titus Zane, don’t make me say it a third time. Now, immediately, right this moment, go change into your gown. I’m in need of a dance partner for the banquet!"
Nathan Moore’s icy voice carried an undeniable dominance; Titus Zane turned again, his cool eyes devoid of excess emotion.
"Don’t you have Olivia?"
"Sister, you forgot, with my current condition, how can I accompany Nathan in dancing." Olivia Zane looked down at the legs covered by the blanket, and upon speaking, could not hide the desolation deep in her heart.
Seeing her, all the words Titus Zane intended to say got stuck in his throat. He set down his paintbrush, stood up, and walked toward the bathroom.
