Titus Zane turned his gaze, meeting Jon’s encouraging eyes with a knowing smile.
As for her past, she had long let go of it.
Back when Nathan Moore forced her to attend the soirée, how many people flattered her openly but criticized her behind her back? Hadn’t she gotten through all that?
Moreover, after so many years, those unhappy memories were something she had chosen to forget.
Nathan Moore turned his dark eyes toward her, slowly exhaling the smoke from his mouth, his handsome face bearing an inscrutable expression.
"Do you really want the three of us to continue living together?"
Jon had already made his relationship clear as Titus Zane’s boyfriend, but it seemed that the wife and husband did not mind discussing their past so openly and bluntly in front of Titus Zane’s boyfriend.
When Olivia Zane mentioned living together again, she emphasized "again", while Nathan Moore used the word "continue". Both words suggest that Titus Zane had lived together with this couple before, serving one husband with her sister.
It wasn’t exactly a matter of pride, but the couple seemed to enjoy discussing it openly, apparently in a harmonious manner.
Olivia Zane was taken aback for a moment by Nathan Moore’s unfamiliar emotions.
Then she said with a laugh, "What’s wrong with that? The three of us can be just like three years ago, with Sis helping you warm..."
"Shut up!" Olivia Zane was cut off mid-sentence by Julian Zane’s stern shout, and she instinctively turned her gaze his way. Just as she was about to retort, her mother Ariana Evans gently tugged at the corner of her dress. Olivia Zane turned back again as her mother shook her head gently.
Julian Zane sprang up from the sofa, "What time is it now, why isn’t dinner starting yet!"
Having said that, he strode toward the dining room.
Watching his retreating back, Nathan Moore took an indifferent drag of his cigarette, and when he turned back to Jon, the disdain in his eyes was evident. But upon seeing the two of them holding hands, the light in his eyes suddenly contracted, and his pupils also tightened before quickly dilating, his dangerous emotions laid bare.
"Let’s go, let’s eat. We’ll head back after dinner."
Ignoring Nathan Moore’s menacing gaze, Titus Zane patted the back of Jon’s hand, took it, and walked towards the dining room.
"Let’s go, it’s time to eat." Ariana Evans stood up and said to Olivia Zane. Seeing Nathan Moore still smoking and not moving, she reminded, "Nathan, carry Lily over for dinner."
"Mom, you go ahead, I’ll wait for Nathan to finish his cigarette," said Olivia Zane. As soon as she finished her words, Nathan Moore had already thrown his cigarette into the ashtray, picked up Olivia Zane, and strode towards the dining hall.
Ariana Evans watched Nathan Moore carrying her daughter away, standing motionless for a long time.
She had been dissatisfied with this son-in-law from the first glance; he was arrogant and never saw them as parents-in-law, having never called them Mom and Dad in all the years of marriage!
The maid continued to bring dishes to the table one after another, and the sight of the array of delicacies almost made Jon’s eyes fall into the plates.
His lips curled upwards, his brows and eyes smiling, and he occasionally licked his lips and swallowed his saliva. It seemed the conversation between Nathan Moore and Olivia Zane hadn’t affected him much.
Seeing everyone seated, and rubbing his hands on his knees, he looked towards Julian Zane and his wife, "Can I start eating now?"
Julian Zane gave him a light glance without speaking, and Ariana Evans said with a smile.
With permission, Jon immediately grabbed a pair of chopsticks and went for a dish with an appetizing color.
Jon was well-versed in Chinese culture and language, but as for using chopsticks...
After several attempts, he couldn’t pick anything up.
Frustrated, Titus Zane picked up her chopsticks to help him, placing food in his plate, then called into the kitchen, "Auntie, can we get a spoon"
