It was an awkward morning. When she woke up, the gray ceiling of the room was the first thing she saw. There was a wide study table on the side, a gray cupboard, and someone standing at the foot of the bed who was folding his arm across his chest and looking at her with a serious gaze. It was Gideon. Jewel was stunned.
She quickly grab the blanket to cover naked body but someone pulled at the blanket completely exposing herself to him. Jewel widened her eyes and pulled the blanket back and Gideon let her. He frowned while looking at the faint red marks on her wrist.
Jewel hid her arm at her back and smiled wryly at him. "It's just an ordinary mark. I always got this every morning. Don't worry. Uhm, why are you here in my room?"
She averted her gaze. She was not used to talking to someone without washing her face. What if there's something on her face?
Gideon put his hands in his pockets. "We have something to talk about."
She glanced at Gideon. His hair was slightly wet and he was wearing a shirt and pants. Looks like her husband just finished taking a bath.
Jewel smiled. "Okay. Let me freshen up." She then scratched softly her chin, averting his gaze. "Could you please go outside my room? I'll just take a shower."
Of course, she couldn't get out of the bed because she's naked. On the other hand, Gideon was confused why Jewel was sleeping naked in his bed. But he had never slept with her so he didn't know if sleeping naked was his wife's habit. Even so, he felt hot watching his wife on his bed with only a blanket covering her body.
Jewel looked around. "By the way, this room is lit. You didn't tell me that you've changed the design of my room. But not bad."
"This is my room," Gideon said.
"Huh?"
"You insisted to sleep in my room. So we change rooms last night."
Jewel blinked her eyes as her cheeks started to burn bright red. So, she's naked in Gideon's bed? She averted her gaze. "Well, your room is not bad. And I'm sure you slept soundly in my room last night, right? Because I slept well in your bed." She smiled awkwardly.
Gideon didn't answer her and just turned around. "Go take a bath," he said before walking out of the room.
Though confused by his attitude, Jewel nodded and complied with what he said. She entered the bathroom with a frown. What's the problem with him early in the morning?
Jewel shook her head and started to take a bath, recalling the reason why she slept so well last night. She smelt the natural scent, perfume, and laundry soap on Gideon's bed sheet, making her relax.
She quickly finished the bath and reached for the robe hanging on the side of the door, wearing it. Jewel walked out of the bathroom while humming a song.
"Oh shocks, Gideon!" she exclaimed when she saw him sitting at the foot of the bed. "I thought you'll wait outside?"
He raised his head and frowned as his gaze hovered over her. Jewel crossed her arms against her chest and raised a brow at him. Gideon cleared his throat. "I gtot you a dress," he said pointing on the white dress lying on the bed. "Let's just talk downstairs," he added and walked out of the room.
"Wait!" she exclaimed, roaming her eyes around the room. Gideon halted but did not look back at her much to her relied. "Your room doesn't have hidden cameras, right?"
"Silly. Just wear your dress and come outside."
Jewel grabbed the dress, smiling from ear to ear. Even though she didn't see his face, she knew Gideon was smiling as he said that. And she's happy that she made Gideon smile.
She happily wore the dress Gideon has prepared. Whether he has a hidden camera or not, she doesn't care. After all, only her husband can see the footage if there is any.
Jewel ran out of the room and down the stairs. The smile on her lips was wide.
But the smile gradually faded from her lips when she noticed something strange at the entrance of the house. Her breathe hitched and she quickly climbed down the stairs and approached the large boxes at the door.
Her eyes widened, covering her mouth. All her erotica books were inside the box!
"I thought you're done reading those stuffs, Jewel. What have I told you? Stop reading those kind of books. Yet, here they are at your front, ready for disposal."
"W-What? Disposal?" She quickly turned to the source of the voice. It was Gideon who was standing a few steps away. She swallowed the lump in her throat. "H-How did you find them?"
"You guess, wife. Under the bed is not really a good place to hide those lustful things."
"What will you do to my b-books?" Her hand trembled nervously. She never thought that Gideon will someday find her books. He didn't prepare for that.
"Burn them."
Her hands trembled even more so she hid them behind her. "N-No. Don't do that."
"And why would I follow you, Jewel, when you can't even follow your husband's words?"
Tears brimmed her eyes.
She has grown fond reading those kind of books. In fact, reading erotica has became a part of her life. And she feels her day isn’t complete if she can’t read even a single x-rated book. Heck, she'll die if Gideon burns them!
"No," she shook her head, looking at Gideon with pleading eyes. "You can't burn them. I won't let you do that!"
Gideon frowned even more as he stood there. Jewel gritted her teeth and her gaze sharpen towards her husband. Erotica's her life! Those lustful books makes her happy. Why do people like Gideon wouldn't understand that?
"Jewel," Gideon warned.
She growled, hissed. She looked dangerous with her gaze. "Don't touch my books. Never ever touch my books. Understand?"
Gideon stared at her deeply. "What's with that look, Jewel?"
That’s where Jewel's patience snapped. She stood up straight and then frowned at Gideon. "Don't touch them!" she yelled then picked up the large box.
Her feet made its way to the staircase, marching to the top of the stairs while carrying the large and heavy book. Even though it was a bit difficult, she was still able to carry it. She glard and hissed at Gideon when she passed by him.
She should know that her husband will find her books. But she was too blinded by the thrill last night that she forgot that her newly bought x-rated books were hidden inside her room.
