The scene at the Door of Greed is far more lethal to Lu Xing than the Door of Evil Desire, as it presents the goal he has pursued all his life.
Here, he has become a successful adventurer.
He has witnessed the bizarre world scenes and has left his own stories in those places, but after every exciting moment, he never lingers, carrying the anticipation for more unknown scenes far ahead as he continues his journey.
During the storytelling process, the children surrounding Lu Xing look at him with admiration, seemingly planting the seed of becoming adventurers in their hearts.
In mere seconds, Lu Xing has experienced the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter here.
And he decides to set off again to the next unknown location.
On the day of departure, he encounters a group of adventurers who, like him, yearn for the unknown.
Lu Xing, who constantly explores alone, receives an enthusiastic invitation.
Carrying a backpack, dressed in adventurer clothes, with a gray hat on his head, a stunning figure riding on a dragon stretches out a right hand to him, showing a charming smile:
"My dear adventurer, in this mysterious and magnificent vast world, your solitude moves me. I sincerely invite you to join us, embark on this magical journey, together exploring the brilliant starry sky of the Butterly Prairie, the mysterious outline of Bright Moon Canyon, the silver beaches of the Bright Bay, and the endless knowledge of the All-Knowing Library... We will also ride dragons to conquer mountains, forests, and snowy fields, leaving our names there. An adventure that will make your heart race awaits us."
At this moment, Lu Xing extends his right hand, the corners of his mouth curl up, captivated by the woman’s description.
He instinctively lets out a laugh.
But just then, the illusion before him begins to distort.
The Golden Plain, adorable children, beautiful adventurer leader... The mirror reflecting his inner desires suddenly fills with cracks and then shatters.
What appears before him is a flood of greedy and foolish smiles from the Alien Race.
The self-initiated Purification Power shatters all the illusions in Lu Xing’s mind, along with his perception of all the beautiful things within him.
Everything feels as if it never happened, leaving not a trace in Lu Xing’s heart.
For Lu Xing, it feels like having a dream, seemingly entrapping him in endless delight, but upon waking, everything dissipates, and he can’t even recall what happened at the time.
This is the strength of the Purification Power.
To ensure the mental health of the player, every activation of the Purification Power removes all hazards, restoring the player’s mental state.
"Guidance, what just happened?" Lu Xing asks with some confusion.
He still remembers the scenes within the Door of Evil Desire clearly, but the breathtaking figure in the scenes no longer stirs any emotion in him.
However, in the Greed scene, he finds he’s lost all memories of the scenes.
Faced with the inquiry, the Guiding Avatar responds lazily:
[These scenes are obsessions for you; leaving them would only affect your mental state. Thus, they were erased to ensure mental health.]
"So what exactly did I encounter?"
[Traveling around and sightseeing—I find these things quite boring, difficult to comprehend why they would be your longing, and even harder to understand why complete purification is necessary to protect your mental health. However, if you want detailed information, you can watch the live broadcast replay. The scenes are all recorded there, but they won’t affect you.]
After hearing the explanation from Guidance, Lu Xing thought of a possibility.
He has many pursuits in life, but the dreamed path is only one, which is to become a great adventurer.
To witness the unknown, record the unknown, experience the customs and cultures of different regions, and comprehend the philosophies of life.
As for beauty, power, and other material needs, they are secondary.
This is clearly the reason he can’t extricate himself from this scene, with a more severe degree of contamination than the previous scene.
[If Jile Hall is considered a willpower challenge stage, you might be infatuated with the previous Evil Desire scene for a period, but eventually, you would momentarily extricate yourself. However, in this Greed scene, you would become completely entrapped, doomed to fall into depravity, unable to step forward.]
"I’m not that bad, am I?" Lu Xing awkwardly scratches his head.

Guidance doesn’t explain much more, raising a hand to summon a light screen.
The screen shows Lu Xing’s changes in expression after entering the Door of Greed.
Upon entering the scene, his expression is dazed, his eyes losing focus, staring blankly into the distance, entrapped in some far-off, elusive thoughts, eyelids half-drooped, the world beneath them becoming blurry and gentle, with a barely noticeable smile at the corners of his mouth, containing traces of intoxication and longing, as if embraced gently by a beautiful dream, unwilling to wake.
Gradually, this daze is replaced by an inexplicable sluggishness, his eyes begin to scatter, losing the liveliness and brilliance of the past, as if his soul is slowly being withdrawn by some intangible force, leaving only an empty shell, during which his eyelids slightly tremble, but the emotional stimulation fails to manifest on his face.
The smile at the corners of his mouth freezes at this moment, becoming neither joy nor sorrow, like a walking corpse.
Finally, that sluggish state is abruptly broken by a foolish laugh:
Seeing this, Lu Xing is embarrassed to the point of wanting to dig a castle with his toes.
