As my sword moved, I looked at my armor, and thick energy clashed against it.
As it did, my core reacted. It wants the energy.
I want it; the thick green and violet energy has the elements I desire.
It entered my armor and got sent into thousands of formations. It might have what I want, but it also has many things that I don’t want.
Besides, it’s not some gentle plant energy, but an aggressive one.
As formations are trying to break and refine it. It is trying to break up the formations if my armor hadn’t dealt with the pretty powerful energies.
This energy would have broken the runes to smithereens.
I avoided the vines, which isn’t easy. I needed my clones’ help to do that; there are seven of them, and they are coming at me from all directions.
Aside from that, they are faster and stronger than I, despite my using every ounce of my energy.
I defended against the vine that I couldn’t dodge, and once more felt that powerful shock.
It is even more powerful than before, but my clones had made quick changes, seeing the force they felt earlier, and it didn’t affect me as before.
Though it still pushed me back and made the blood leak out of my mouth.
I burned it. I don’t want it to get even a hint of it. I don’t know what it would do if it got the taste of my blood.
I dodged and defended the attack, but it was hard; many times, the thorns were just centimetres away from it.
It is too powerful, and if it were an intelligent being. I would have been buried under the ten feet already, but even with this intelligence, it is making things extremely hard for me.
It is why I am using everything I have to fight against it. I am not holding back on anything.
I had even kept my blood ready. If I need it, I will burn it; I am thinking about burning it right now, given the strength of this plant.
It becomes aggressive in its movements. Making its vine go even faster and stronger than before, but I am learning its pattern, helping me dodge better.
I need to improve every second. Predict its movements better, and make changes in my inheritance, to survive against it.
Because all it needs is one well-placed attack to finish me off, once that big thorn entered inside me; it would need mere seconds to suck me dry.
It is why I have been warned by so many people against coming here.
Every danger is more powerful than I. It is more powerful than the most powerful of the village’s primes. There are a select few in the whole realm that could deal with most threats of this place.
I am saying most because even they cannot deal with it all. They had predicted a danger that they were no match for.
It is why nobody has ever reached the centre of this place despite it being very small.
To most, it would need mere seconds to reach the centre, but till now, nobody has.
Suddenly, they rustled and their speed increased, and it tore through me, giving me a cut across my waist.
It wanted to burrow into me, but I moved. I also wrapped strings around the small holes in the thorns to stop it from drawing blood.
It might seem extreme, but I could not let it take my blood.
I defended the attack, but failed to dodge another and cut through my face, giving me a deep cut across my left cheek.
Like the last time, I stopped it from taking blood.
Its attacks have become stronger, so despite predicting the pattern, I couldn’t dodge them. I do not have the required speed to do that.
I might have been able to do that with two or three, even with five, but seven had made things difficult.
More and more cuts begin to appear on my body. I tried to dodge them, but the vines are too fast. The only thing I could do about them is stop them from burrowing into me and taking my blood.
Over a minute passed, and then it changed the strategy.
It stopped releasing the energy, which I used to seal in the string. I never let it touch my body; when it released, it would go to the strings.
It is not the energy it had released, but pale green liquid.
I shuddered the moment it came out, and my strings have absorbed it like it did with the energy.
As the powerful poison energies burst out of the liquid. So powerful that my strings weren’t capable, they would have finished me off.
I haven’t yet survived. It could still do that to me; all I have to do is fail once.
Another minute passed, and my body was rigid with the injuries. Nearly every second, the armor would get torn, before fixing itself.
Still, despite that, not a single speck of violet energy had entered inside me.
There is another layer of protection. A thin film of energy, it stops the energy of this place from entering me, even when the thorns tore through me.
It is far from powerful as my armor and could only hold back violet energy for a second and a half.
So, I have to make sure my armor gets mended in that time.
