I reached the university, Penny met me at the college's entrance.
" Why do I keep seeing you without Alicia these days?" I asked.
" It is not like we are a couple or anything, but... we... can be if you want," he said pointing at both of us.
" Flirtatious men should all get buried somewhere far away from innocent girls such as me." I sighed.
" You know that Molly has been staring daggers at you, it has been a while now. Rumors have circulated the whole college stating that Shawn asked to break up with her but she is still not over him yet."
" Why do people like to gossip?"
" Because it is fun." Penny retorted shrugging his shoulders.
I suddenly recalled what happened yesterday and the fact that I wanted to speak with Alicia about the reason why she was wearing sunglasses. Before I entered the class, I quickly turned around rushing to look for her all around the college.
I brushed Shawn's shoulder while running in the corridor, he asked me where I am going but I did not reply since I was in a hurry. I kept looking for her; I almost looked into every floor now but still couldn't spot her anywhere. I had a bad feeling that I couldn't dismiss, she wasn't also picking up her phone which caused me to worry even more.
I recalled that Penny mentioned before that her boyfriend is a senior who is in his last year and that he is on the football team. I decided to search for her in the gym. My doubts were confirmed when I heard Alicia's scream coming from behind the gym's door. There were two boys standing outside as if they were guarding the door for no one to come in.
I tried to force my way in calling out her name but they pushed me back and I tripped falling on my butt.
" Do not interrupt their business, cutie." one of the two boys uttered.
" How about you apologize before I turn your face into a cleaning mop." A sound arose from behind me as its source grabbed my arm helping me up.
The boys flinched as they grabbed their backpacks quickly and were about to take their leave but Shawn blocked their way.
" Did you not fuckin hear me? Fuckin apologize, I said." Shawn warned.
I ignored their apology kicking the door with all my strength. Fuck, I swiftly stepped in locking the door behind me. She should not be seen this way at all, she was totally naked lying on the floor as blood was dripping from her fragile body. The man that I raised my eyes to look at was cleaning his hand with a towel.
" What have you done?" I asked trying to get her up but she was not moving.

" Stop you fuckin pig," I shouted pushing my dad away as he was trying to touch me with his filthy hands.
He was drinking more than usual since mom passed away, I can't understand whether it was because he was sad or because he was just a stupid asshole. It was for both reasons because he suddenly called mom's name as tears started staining his shirt.
" Laura, how could you die on me? After all the things you have done? Leaving me this filthy daughter of yours." he cried.
Coming to think about it, he never treated me as his. He rarely called me by name either. Dad was not just treating me badly, he always hated me from deep inside.
He kept trying to molest me so I hit him on the head with the bottle that rolled on the floor. He shouted in pain, he got up aiming to pull me by my hair but luckily, my brother came in right at that moment and pulled him away pushing him to the other corner of the room fiercely.
Dad fell on the floor hitting his head to the wall, blood started covering his hair. I let out a small yelp from my mouth as I looked everywhere for his phone to call an ambulance. My 18 years old brother grabbed my hand slapping me on the face.
" Wake up, Lily. Why would you want to save him?" he asked as he glared at me.
" He might die..." I cried.
" Let him," he replied coldly as he pulled out a jar that contained my mom's cremated remains and gave it to me.
" I figured out that you should be the one to keep it,"
" This is the last time I come to see you, Lily. I will travel abroad," he stated.
I cried a river as soon as those words came out of his mouth.
" Why?" I asked in a broken voice.
" Don't leave me please, Freddy... Please." I begged.
"I am sorry, I promise you I will come back when it is time. We will never be able to get out of this shithole if I stayed here. I will come for you later, don't die until then... sis." He mumbled as he took his leave.
I was abandoned by both my mother and brother, my dad despises me. I began to think that I am someone who can't be loved by anyone. No one wanted to take responsibility for me; I never waited for my brother to come back. Not even a single day have I anticipated him showing up. I can say that this day was the day I threw away all my emotions and decided to look out for myself since no one else would.

" Are you fuckin deaf? I said ' mind your own business, bitch.' Do you hear me?" Alicia's boyfriend spat out at the same time that Shawn was calling my name from outside as he kept kicking the door.
" Open the freaking door, Lily. Open it now." He yelled as loud as he could. I lost my reasoning, I was mad as hell recalling my past... My eyes got darker as I slowly got up ignoring Shawn's desperate calls.
" Fuck, is that Shawn Gerald?" the pitiful boy asked as I approached him with one single thought in mind.
This asshole needs to disappear...
All those abusers need to disappear…
