After the fierce battle, before he could even exchange pleasantries with the three girls, Alain was taken by the Short-Haired Mita to a small room.
The room's layout was simple: wooden floors, pink wallpaper, dim lighting, and a small bed. Other than that, there were only some books and miscellaneous items in a corner.
If a normal Mita's room could be called a studio apartment, then this room, presumably belonging to the Short-Haired Mita, could only be described as an "employee dormitory." It was just that simple, Alain thought.
"Take off your clothes."
She had her back to Alain, squatting down and rummaging through a cardboard box of miscellaneous items in the corner. As the pretty girl squatted, the elastic waistband of her skirt revealed a deep crevice; Alain recognized it instantly as the top of her butt crack.
Come to think of it, I'm currently in a room alone with a cute girl. This girl is also Prankster Mita's older sister, the Short-Haired Mita who was a little short-tempered with me at first. I never would have imagined a scene when I first met her.
Alain was amused by his own thoughts. He had watched too much anime. How could such a fanservice-heavy event possibly happen to him? Impossible, impossible!
Wait, what did the Short-Haired Mita just say?
Alain pondered, his memory returning to a few seconds ago, to the only thing she had said to him after they entered the room.
["Take off your clothes."]
He swallowed a bitter gulp of saliva and licked his dry lips. As the realization dawned on him, his heart began to stir. He decided to respect his own feelings and, one by one, began to remove his clothes. I guess I can't be reserved now... If the short-haired girl is being so forceful, what room do I have to resist? My lifelong innocence...
"Found it," she said, pulling out a small white box. It had been gathering dust for a long time, clearly not used often. Her hands rested on the first aid kit.
And Alain had just finished taking off his armor.
The Short-Haired Mita stood up and turned around.
"I..." she started, knitting her brow. She followed Alain's gaze down to his nearly naked body, and in the next second, a heatwave rushed to her face. "...was this your 'take off your clothes'?" The girl turned her head away.
It was the first time she had ever seen such a spectacle. Her peripheral vision, however, would occasionally dart over for a glimpse, as if intensely curious, before she would shake her head, her short hair swaying with the movement.
"No, didn't you tell me to take my clothes off?" Alain tried to defend himself, but then he heard the Short-Haired Mita's mortified voice.
"I! MEANT! YOUR! SHIRT! YOUR CLOTHES!" She let out a heavy sigh, her lecturing tone completely undermined by the angry red blush creeping up from the roots of her ears.
"So, what is it you need me for?"
"..." Seeing Alain help her out of the awkward situation, the Short-Haired Mita breathed a sigh of relief.
"Two things. First," she said, her eyes on Alain's upper body, "are you injured anywhere?"
He wasn't being polite. The battle just now had been a bit thrilling, but he hadn't even used his Safety Protection charges. He had been through many high-intensity battles by now; you could say he was an experienced combatant.
"You're not being polite?" The Short-Haired Mita showed him the first aid kit in her hands, then glanced at Alain's muscular upper body.
His skin was on the fairer side. He had a delicate face, but he was not lacking in muscles, which were well-defined. Realizing her thoughts had strayed to a strange place, she shook her head and began to observe his body for any possible injuries.
When she passed over a potential wound, she couldn't help but stare for a second or two, making him feel self-conscious all over.
"Don't worry, I'm not being polite with you. If it hurt, I would have cried out on my way out the door," Alain said. As he said, there wasn't even a red mark on his skin, let alone any blood.
The Short-Haired Mita couldn't help but feel a little curious. "Why are you so strong?"
Seeing her clear eyes, Alain didn't answer. Seeing him remain silent, perhaps realizing the problem with her own question, she also became a little awkward.
"I'm not that strong. After that battle, I can already feel my muscles are a little sore," Alain's words did a good job of easing the atmosphere. It was the truth. He had forgotten to take out the gamepad just now, so the fatigue after the battle was unavoidable.
Seeing that the first aid kit was temporarily useless, the girl placed it under the bed. Looking at his weary eyes and his body sinking into the mattress, she offered, "Do you want me to give you a massage?"

Waves of comfort, like an electric current, flowed from her massaging hands into the ocean of his consciousness. The stiffness in his muscles vanished. The Short-Haired Mita didn't notice Alain's contemplation; she only felt that his body was very stiff.
She slightly reduced the force of the massage, turning it from a "massage" into something more like a caress.
"And now, for the second question," she said nonchalantly, her hands still working. "Can you tell me? What is it that you're carrying, that serves as your motivation to keep moving forward?"
The air in the room fell into a brief silence.
She looked at him, and he looked at the first aid kit she was holding.
She took a deep breath.
"You're a very strong man," she said, looking at him with a complex expression. "Strong enough that a dozen Failed Works were helpless against you, becoming nothing but parts on the floor. But..."
