Kimberly stared at her lover as he was fast asleep. He looked so peaceful and handsome. Her eyes lingered on his slightly parted lips, she felt the urge to kiss him, but refrained herself because she didn’t want to wake him up as he must probably be tired after the long journey.
She carefully removed his hand from her waist and quietly got out of bed, making sure not to cause any noise.
She got into the closet and picked out another underwear, since Ian ripped the one she was previously wearing. Smiling at the memory, she took one of Ian’s t-shirt and wore it, then wrapped her hair up in messy bun before quietly walking out of the room.
Kimberly walked into the kitchen and sat on an island stool, thinking of what to make for lunch. She knew she needed to think fast because Ian wasn’t a heavy sleeper, so he’d soon be up.
After some minutes of thinking and going through a cookery book, she decided to make shrimp and vegetable skillet.
Before she begins to make the meal, she needed to quench her thirst, so she helped herself to a glass of juice.
As Kimberly cooked, she realized she couldn’t find the jar of spice. She searched for it in the kitchen units and drawers, but still couldn’t find it. She let out a frustrated groan as she looked up in the shelf and saw it there.
“Just great!” she muttered to herself.
She had thought searching for the spice was bad enough, but finding it in the shelf was even worse because that’s where she hated most in the kitchen. She let out a huff and stretched out her arm to reach for the jar, but failed miserably. She muttered some curse words before giving it another try.
Standing up on her toes, she tried to reach for the jar a second time, her fingers barely touching it. Then she felt a hard chest pressed against her back, Ian’s fingers slightly brushed her before gracefully bringing down the spice jar.
His closeness was already intoxicating Kimberly, who could barely move from her present spot because she was slowly losing her composure.
That always happens whenever Ian was near her. He always leaves her breathless.
Her knees went weak as his lips came in contact with her neck.
“You could’ve just called me if you needed a hand.” Ian huskily whispered in her ears, making her shut her eyes to take in his mesmerizing voice.
She turned around and caught his lips with hers in a passionate kiss. He let out a low groan as she gripped his hair. Ian picked Kimberly up by the back of her thighs and pinned her against the wall as their lips fought for dominance.
Their hungry heated kiss soon turned into a slow one, before they both pulled away to catch their breaths.
“I need to make lunch.” She whispered after they had steadied their breathing.
“I don’t need lunch when I have you.” He whispered back, as his hands caressed her thighs, giving her bum a light squeeze causing her to blush tomato red.
“I know that, but.. you still need to eat something.” She replied as she played with his hair.
“If you insist.” He said, giving her one last kiss before letting her down on her feet.
Kimberly couldn’t help but stare at his abs, as he was shirtless.
“You know, we can still make lunch later.” Ian said with a smirk.
Kimberly couldn’t help but feel embarrassed because he caught her staring. He was teasing her, she could tell, so she decided to ignore him and grabbed the spice jar from the countertop and resumed her cooking.
She was glad she hadn’t placed anything on the stove before Ian showed up, if she had done that, they certainly would’ve had a burnt meal for lunch.
Kimberly stole a glance at Ian and saw he had made himself comfortable on one of the stools, with a glass of apple juice before him, while he typed away on his phone before suddenly it began to ring.
“Hello… Mom, I’m fine. Yes, I’m back. I…”
Kimberly smiled to herself as she made lunch. She knew Ian’s mom must be bombarding him with accusations as to why he hadn’t called earlier.
“I’m sorry okay? I just woke up from a nap… I couldn’t call you cos I was stressed out… she’s here with me.. fine, speak to her.” Ian said standing from the stool and handed the phone to Kimberly.
“Hello Melissa, how are you?”
“I’m good, I guess since you decided to abandon me.” Ian’s mom replied at the other end.
Kimberly instantly felt bad hearing that. She didn’t intentionally abandon Melissa like she claims.
“Melissa, I’m so sorry.” She apologized.
“ I’ve been so occupied with work that I barely have time for myself.” She explained.
“Really?.. but you could find time to pick up your fiancé.” Melissa replied in a knowing tone.
Kimberly could barely concentrate on the call as Ian was placing open mouthed kisses on her neck, at the same time fondled her breasts. She bit her lower lip to suppress a moan, as she was already getting excited.
“Hello? Kim, are you still there?” Melissa asked when she didn’t get a reply from Kimberly.
Kimberly could hear the worry in Melissa’s voice. She felt so horrible for not concentrating on the phone call. She gulped as she thought of words to come up with.
“I- I… um, I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention cos I’m trying to prepare lunch… don’t want to get Ian’s food burnt, you know.” She nervously managed to say, earning a chuckle from Ian, who was still teasing her.
“Oh, I better leave you to it then.”
“We’ll talk later. I promise.” Kimberly assured Melissa.
“Okay honey, that would be lovely. Could you please give the phone back to Ian, so I can inform him about the welcome party we planned out for him.”
“Sure.” Kimberly quickly replied, handing the phone back to Ian who let out an annoyed groan as he reluctantly removed his hand from her breast.
Kimberly let out a sigh of relief and continued with making lunch as Ian walked back to his previous spot.
