Chapter 6: Inheriting the Legacy, Power Soars
Chen Fan moved the Immortal Corpse to an open space and continued excavating the ruins.
There was almost nothing left of the final pile of rubble.
Yet, Chen Fan managed to dig up a few more discarded treasures. After being recycled by the system, he earned another five hundred points.
All in all, he now had a total of 1,550 points.
While clearing the last bit of debris, Chen Fan dug up something hard and icy to the touch.
He pulled out the object and saw that it was indeed a token.
It seemed to be forged from some kind of profound iron, with an exceptionally heavy feel.
On one side of the token, there was a single character engraved.
Fortunately, Chen Fan had learned this character back in school.
He knew that this character represented “Tian” (Heaven).
[“Congratulations, Host. This is an ancient token.”]
[“It also serves as a magical artifact. Once the host’s strength reaches a certain level, you may perform a blood recognition ritual.”]
[“During battle, it can be summoned to suppress powerful enemies.”]
[“Of course, the host may also choose to let the system recycle it for a large number of points.”]
The system gave a detailed explanation.
“Let’s not recycle it for now.”
“Who knows how many such opportunities there’ll be?”
“This is an ancient magical artifact, after all.”
“As for points, I can find other ways to earn them. Besides, I’m not in urgent need of any repairs right now.”

Letting out a breath, he picked up the Immortal Corpse and left his garbage dump.

If the corpse remained, it would likely be gone the next time he entered.
The garbage dump was truly a strange place.

So, the more times he scavenged, the more vast the dump became.
Reappearing in the living room, Chen Fan looked at the Immortal Corpse in his arms and, after thinking for a moment, placed it in a separate room.
“If only I could scavenge a storage artifact…”
“Then I could store everything inside.”
Chen Fan mused inwardly.
Storage of magical artifacts was every scavenger’s most desired treasure.
That was because many times, such artifacts still contained fully intact treasures.
At auctions, storage magical artifacts were always the most sought-after and hotly contested items.
Having settled the Immortal Corpse, Chen Fan took out the jade pendant, filled with anticipation.
“This inheritance—I could use my main body to cultivate it.”
“But I think I’ll have one of my acupoints receive the inheritance instead.”
Toward such supreme techniques, Chen Fan was filled with endless excitement.
He then sat cross-legged on the ground, closed his eyes, and began circulating the upgraded technique. He started to separate a portion of his consciousness-or—rather, his will.
Time passed, though he didn’t know how long.
Eventually, Chen Fan managed to separate a wisp of will.
That will appear like a transparent version of Chen Fan, which then entered the first acupoint he had opened.
Taking a deep breath, Chen Fan pricked his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the jade pendant.
The jade pendant cracked, and a beam of white light shot into Chen Fan’s glabella.
In the next instant, an incredibly vast amount of information surged into him, which he began to absorb and decipher.
After who knows how long, Chen Fan’s main body began circulating its primary technique. Simultaneously, the newly inherited Hàoyuè Tiāngōng began running on its own as well.
However, Hàoyuè Tiāngōng didn’t revolve around Chen Fan’s dantian, but around the first acupoint he had opened.
“How heaven-defying!”
“My main body’s technique can drive other techniques into operation…”
Such a wondrous and powerful technique left Chen Fan in awe.
In the next moment, the light from his Sea of Consciousness followed the circulation path and rushed directly into the first acupoint.
The light transformed into a boundless energy, nourishing and refining the acupoint, strengthening and expanding it.
Heaven and Earth energy was drawn in and absorbed by Chen Fan.
Some of that energy washed over his body and surged toward the next acupoint.
The rest was completely absorbed by the first acupoint.
Finally, Chen Fan’s nineteenth acupoint opened on its own, successfully breaking through to the nineteenth layer of the Mortal Realm.
In a single night, he had opened three acupoints in a row.
This speed was enough to astonish the ages.
At the same time, Chen Fan’s first acupoint stopped circulating, and immense power churned within it.
“Truly heaven-defying!”
“My physical body’s blood energy has increased by more than double!”
“Because according to the realms in Hàoyuè Tiāngōng, this acupoint has already completed the Moving Blood Stage, Body Refinement Stage, and Bone Refinement…”
Chen Fan opened his eyes, filled with emotion.
The blood energy throughout his body surged like a mighty river.
