MECHA DEVOURER CLASS SKILLS

[Level: 1]The user can create basic inanimate mecha-like constructs by reconfiguring existing sources of matter and energy.
Note: Higher skill levels allow for faster creation, larger and more powerful mech-structures, and greater construct complexity.

This was the only skill available to him in the entire tab, but Everlearn’s eyes were brimming with light upon the sight of it.
’Mechano Creatio...’ he muttered to himself, looking at the bracketed name.
It was his first time hearing of such a skill, but as he read the description, the pieces began to come together in his mind, and his heartbeat unconsciously skyrocketed.
’It allows me to reconfigure matter and energy into inanimate mecha-like constructs,’ he mused.
And in the next instant, he moved.
His hands reached to the side, and he grabbed onto a branch sticking out.
With a forceful bend, he was able to break the branch off the tree, and Everlearn held the one-meter-long stick in his hands.

Everlearn called, and with both hands holding onto the stick, he watched with wide eyes as a flicker of blue flames appeared around his palms.
They snaked into the branch, and he watched as undecipherable runic lines glowed softly across the weapon.

A bright glow blinded him for a few seconds, almost sending him falling off the tree, but he resisted, shutting his eyes tightly.
After he felt the stinging brightness fade away, he opened an eye, his gaze drifting off to the object in his palm.
Immediately, both eyes snapped open in shock.
Right in Everlearn’s outstretched hand was no longer a branch, but a blue metallic staff!
One meter long, smooth as glass, yet heavy as steel.
"How? This... this is Arcana!"
The Nakros race wielded an energy said to grant them the ability to perform magical feats.
These feats were known as Arcana, and they were the only thing he knew could explain the changes before him.
But all of a sudden, a sudden weakness overwhelmed him, and he collapsed onto his back, tired for some reason.

The sound of a beastly howl rang out, making Everlearn’s hair stand on end.
He looked toward the source of the sound, but his sight couldn’t reach that far.
"They’ve started to awaken..." it occurred to him, and immediately Everlearn hurriedly climbed down the tree.
If he wanted to survive the night, he needed a weapon.
The staff was good, but it needed strength to bash something.
Everlearn lacked the strength to beat a beast twice as strong as him to death.
He needed something better.
Landing on both feet, he wobbled a bit but regained his balance, his hands quickly rubbing through the sandy ground around the tree.
It didn’t take a minute before he found what he was looking for:
A stone, sharp and pointed.
With that obtained, he moved his hands further, finding a cut vine.
With those two things in hand, he hurriedly climbed back up.
Gripping the stone, he closed his eyes and ordered:
"Activate Mechano Creatio."
Immediately, blue runes covered the stone in his hands.
This time it took longer, but when the flicker died down, he found exactly what he needed.
A sharp, pointed metallic end in the shape of a triangle.
Trailing his fingers over its edge, he yanked his hand back when a cut appeared on his skin.
"It’s very sharp. This is perfect."
The last thing remaining was the vine, but this time, he did things differently.
Placing the staff on the branch, he set the sharp blade on the edge, leaving an inch of space, where he placed the vine.
His hands gripped all three objects, and he ordered:
"Activate Mechano Creatio."
Sweat dripped down Everlearn’s forehead, his teeth clenched from exhaustion and pain.
It was like energy was rapidly being sucked out of him, but he held on until the flicker appeared.
When it did, he could no longer hold on and collapsed onto his back, only for his eyes to widen when an object slammed into his chest.
He grabbed it before it could fall, and the sight made a smile appear on the corner of his lips.
With a staff, a vine, and a sharp end, Everlearn had crafted something that could help him:

The system acknowledged, and Everlearn felt his heart warm, but only for a moment.
His eyes regained their focus as he looked around at the weapon.
The spear was good, sharp, and long enough to keep a beast’s claws and fangs far away from a fighter.
But Everlearn wasn’t a fighter, nor had he ever used a spear before.
’Going out to face a beast head-on is suicide, so...’ Everlearn thought, his eyes shifting around until it occurred to him.
’I’ll remain on this tree.’
’If anything comes for me, it will have to climb up, exposing its head to me.’
’It will be easier to sneak in a quick stab in a vulnerable body part, gaining myself an advantage."
He climbed up higher and higher, hiding himself among a bunch of leaves, while the spear was held tightly in both hands, its tip facing down the root of the tree as he lay in wait.
The night was here, and the powerful predators were moving out to find prey.
As for whether he would eventually become predator or prey, killed on his first night—
