What is the book doing in my room? I keep asking myself as I stare at the book tumorous about touching the book. I am not joking, this book should be in the library and not in my room.
I look around probably someone might have sneak in and drop it there but that can be possible except my mom allow a stranger into the house. Without thinking twice and exit my room and went straight to Mom.
I knock on my parent door room just because it a sign of respect you show to an elder. You don't just barge into the room without knocking that impolite but I stop when I hear her discussing with Dad, I wasn't intentionally eavesdropping but with the mention of my name I suddenly got interested in the conversation.
"We should just tell her"I can hear my dad say.
"That will only land her in more trouble and don't you notice the mark on her"Mom whisper.
"What the hell were you thinking when you figure it out"Dad asks.
"Don't blame me for this, you insist on us moving down here together and now everything is happening too fast"Mom defend herself.
"Who is this guy?"he asks.
"I don't know either"She reply.
"So what do you want us to do?"Dad asks.
"I don't know, probably just be cool or else it will be bad if she start to break more spell"Mom reply. Spell? what are they both talking about and are they hiding something from me or is there anything I should know but they decide to keep it a secret.
I await for them to finish their conversation probably I might get an answer to my question but not a single word did I hear from them so I decide to knock.
"Mom can I come in?"I asks,.
"Alex?"She called in surprise.
"Yes mom"I reply sounding so audible that she can satisfy her curiosity.
"Can I come in?"I asks when I did not hear a word from her again.
"Yeah...sure"She stuttered but I just ignore that and open the door only to meet Dad pretending to sleep and Mom sit at the edge.
"Dad is asleep?"I asks taking a peep.
"Yeah, you know how work can be"She reply, I can't believe Mom is lying to me and why is Dad actually pretending to sleep.
"How long have you been there?"She asks so unsettled.
"Just now, anything?"I asks.
"Nothing dear"She fake a laugh, I arched my brows at her because nothing is actually funny at the moment.
"So how may I help you?"She finally stop laughing when I did not join.
"Oh!..."I got interrupted even before I could say a word and my fist clenched.
"Are you finding it difficult to sleep or weird dreams? I can sleep with you if you want"She rush her words but I still grab it surprising to me too.
"Mom?!....No"I blurt and she calm down to hear me out.
"So what is it?"She asks.
"Did anyone come today or did you see anyone in morning probably someone drop a book for you?"I asks.
"No"She reply, then what is the book doing in my room or did I bring it in myself out of curiosity.
"Anything the problem Alex?"She asks.
"Nothing ma"I reply.
"Where did you get that mark on your neck!"She asks and my eye widened when I realize I am not in my usual turtle neck top I wear to cover it. How long is it going to take to clear off for crying out loud, Tom is going to be responsible for this.
"Goodnight mom, I am so sorry for disturbing your sleep"I quickly dash out of her room with a fast pace before she stop me and asks more about the mark I wish could clear off immediately.
I was panting heavily when I got into the room closing the door and making sure I turn to the key and confirm if it locked before I slump down on the floor there.
"That was close"I sigh heavily.
"What's that?"a familiar voice asks, I look around wondering where it coming from until I saw Tom sitting on my bed with the same book in his hand. Was he the one that drop it there.
"Wth"I jump up instantly scared at first but I was kinda relieved when it turns out to be Tom. I was actually expecting him so it pointless acting all surprise.
"Why do you look so terrifying?"he asks.
"I will take that as a compliment but will you stand up from my bed"I roll my eye as I was to shut the window he had use to access my room.
"Someone looks so excited to see me"he teased.
"I don't and for your information I will advise you leave"I snorts.
"You want me to leave but you close the window which means you want me to stay"he simper.
Yeah, he is right I want him to spend the night here not actually what you are thinking in your head but atleast staying with me will take my fear away. I feel so unsure since we got here and I got myself involve with him, I feel he has the answer to all the question running through my head I just don't know where to stand from.
"Wow, I can stay if you want and overnight"he blurt, my eye widened in amazement and awe that I wonder how he was able to read my mind.
"Get the hell out of my head"I yell angrily when it finally dawn to me he can actually read minds and toy with heads.
"I am sorry but you made me do that with the way you stare at me when I talked about staying"he shrug.
"Whatever"I roll my eye.
"Actually I already mention it to you that if you are curious about anything else just asks me so why did you still get a book like this?"he put the book in display.
"Actually I don't know how the book got here"I reply.
"What do you mean by that, you are always curious about everything and I know you borrow it from that librarian woman she never release this particular book anyhow"he added.
"Are you even listening to me?, I am serious about this for crying out loud. The truth is I went to the library to get a book and truly she recommend this for me but suddenly she showed up only to blab about a stupid prophecy and how I am involved. I was mad at her and left angrily giving the book back to her and now it in my room"I explain.
"You mean the book was still in the library when you left?"He asks.
"I just explain myself"I roll my eye.
"She mentioned about the prophecy to you?"he asks.
"Like seriously, Tom?"I frown.
"Alex you need to be safe, we don't know who this enemies are they might decide to come in human form and get close to you just to destroy you when the time comes"
"If you are trying to scare me right now then...it really working"I quickly ran toward him and hug him.
"What are you doing?"he asks while I snuggle round him tightly.
"I am scared Tom, please don't go"I find myself pleading for him to stay.
"I will okay"he wrap his hand round me hugging me back, soothing my hair and I begin to be at a relief until the window squeak and I pull away and hide behind his back.
