Mated To A God Chapter 12

"You're stupid, you know that." I say and he grunts when I tighten the bandage on his torso. "If I wasn't there, you would have died after been mauled by your sister." "I can't still believe that she is-" He cuts himself off with a sigh, his head hanging low in what I guess as defeat. "Will your perspective of her change because she is now turning into a werewolf?" I ask, patiently waiting for his answer as I tend to his wounds. It seems that all I had to do was clean and dispose of the rug that Andrew bleed upon. I did that after I made his little sister fall asleep. It took a couple of hours to clean it but when I found out that the smell would still be there, I decided to remove it from the room. She is a human turning into a werewolf, meaning that her senses will soon change to that of a werewolf and she will be able to catch the slight smell of blood in her room. That's not what I want her to smell right now, it could lead to many problems. I spent the other half of the night tending to Andrew's wounds. The claw marks on his stomach is not too deep and lucky for him, it is small enough that it wouldn't leave a scar. "No matter what she is turning to right now, she is still my sister." He tells me, knocking me out of my mild reverie. I sense my wolf coming out of the surface to stare at him and I try to ignore her even when she speaks. 'Oh, but you wouldn't be saying this if she was turning to a vampire.' "That's good." I nod at Andrew's words. "Right now she needs all the support she can get. Now tell me, have you ever gotten into her room at night before?" His eyebrows furrow when I ask this and I step back for a moment to stare at my rough bandaging. I have never really done this before... "Well... I have never went into the room like that at night. I always thought she would need rest so when I check up on her, I tried to not step fully inside, I just peep through the door." "That's good, or you would have been dead long ago. Again and like I keep saying, you are so lucky that you met me before she really begins to turn." I caught a smile on his face. It is small but very visible. "Thank you. If you don't mind, I would like you to stay here for some while to help me with Shelia." "I can't." I think of Nathan and the possiblity of him been back already. "Remember that I left a friend behind and she is likely freaking out by now." "Come to think of it, why are you in this little city? Aren't you supposed to be in your big castle or something." His frown deepens as he asks and I counter it with a grin. "You ask too much question. Let's just say that I came here to kill you for being so stupid." "And I don't believe a word you just said." He stares blankly at me. "You likely don't believe that you acted stupidly because you are stupid. Do you get it now?" I pat his cheek and he stubbornly pushes my hand away. He seems grumpy all of a sudden. I look up at the open window, feeling sunlight on my skin. "Well, the sun is up now and so are you brothers." "How do you-" He pauses on his question when I tap my ears and his mouth forms into an 'o'. I help him stand up and we walk out of the room. I follow him as he lead me somewhere else and by the looks of it, I am guessing this is the dining room? When I step in after Andrew, two eyes snap to me and it widens immediately. "Lady, you're still here!" I recognize the boy speaking as Todd and the other one staring blankly at me as David. "Yes but only for a while." I answer swiftly. "She is helping me take care of Shelia." Andrew butts in from where he stands. "She knows a lot about Shelia's illness." Good. He won't tell the children what's going on. Though, sooner or later he will have to. Todd frowns, his face showing his confusion as he pokes a finger out and points at the bandage on Andrew's torso. "Big brother, why do you have a bandage wrapped on you." And here I was, knowing that he forgot something. He forgot to put on a shirt. I really want to slap him for forgetting that right now. As he tries to come up with something and his eyes beg me to help out, I hear little footsteps coming our way and it maintains a steady course. It doesn't take long for a little girl to come out of the corner, her green eyes glancing around. I notice that she catches the boys attention too. Shelia. She looks bigger than what I expected. Last night, I didn't take the time to properly look at her but she appears to be about 15, a young age to be having a wolf. Well, this is going to be a headache. "Erm, who are you?" She stands in front of me, awkwardly playing with her fingers and I smile. She doesn't remember. From the corner of my eye, Andrew lets out a shaky breath. He is glad that she doesn't remember last night. I am too. "A friend of Andrew's. I am here to help with your condition." My smile doesn't slip from my face. "And you're Shelia. It's pleasure to finally meet you." Slowly, she slips on a small smile and directs it to me. Before she can say another word, her brothers throw her to the ground as they try to embrace her. Andrew stands in the same position with a distance smile as he watches his younger siblings embrace with laughter on their faces. Soon enough, Shelia sees the bandage on him and asks what it is. His answer is curt and leaves no room for questions but the smile on his face is assuring. "I'm fine. It's just a minor injury." Shelia's eyes doesn't stop glancing my way. She seems interested in her brother and I's relationship. I believe that she thinks we are together? That would be awkward. Really awkward. My mind wanders to where Nathan would be right now. Maybe he is back. My wolf so badly wants to see him and I guess that I do too. "Are you sure that you and my brother aren't dating?" Shelia asks. The inquisitiveness in her eyes reminds me of my cousin. Shelia had required my audience a few minute ago. She dragged me out of the dining room immediately I finished my food. Her attitude is strangely familiar. So now we sit in front of the small lake that's close to their house. She seems happy as she stares at her feet dangling in the water. In the back of my mind, I know that her brothers are close by. They wouldn't leave her with a stranger and I mainly know that because of Andrew's eyes drilling holes on the back of my head. "There is nothing going on between your brother and I." "Oh," Her face crumbles into a smile. "Then it's up to me to bring you two together." She laughs and I continue to stare at her but with a different set of eyes now. And in the next second, I decide that I will play along. "You wouldn't dare!"
