Master Of None Chapter 2595

The map of the area around the illegal merchant village was easily telling a story of rapid advancement. The level that the farms and the walls reached after being mapped out were above what Walker had managed to see. They were all built so that everything from potential weather to higher foot traffic could be maintained. The way that the walls had been built allowed for the water flowing off them to be able to be moved in to the fields. The spouts from the top of the walls ran down the sides of streets creating small streams. It would allow for better flow of water from the streets as well. It also allowed the streets to be made wider from the start, something ideal for what the developing town would need. This small but important step in building up the area where illegal merchants had begun to sue was amazing. It was setting a precedent for many smaller villages looking to improve themselves in to being larger towns able to accept larger merchant caravans or bands of travelers. Lately with the exploration encouraged through Genesis and even within the kingdoms, the ideas and creations of small and larger traveler groups became normal. There were also mercenary groups beginning to gain traction, however, they were being combatted by the adventurer groups. Where the adventurers had regulations and quests, the mercenaries did not so much have them and tended to focus specifically on the highest bidder in terms of what they would do. A lot more risky quests or requests were taken. Because of this, some people voiced their worries about mercenary groups being the same or close to bandits. Meaning that a potential guild for mercenaries might appear in the future. It was an interesting idea and a town being built might be a good place for such things to be regulated and tested out. Many people were already speaking about moving their families here since they were part of the first building group here. It helped that Walker had just established a mapping orb and that the guard captains were speaking out about how they would not have better warning of any approaching or passing monsters. While Walker contemplated these things, he noticed the small bubbles of water floating around midnight. The small starfish like golem, Anon's shard, was making small bubbles of water while Midnight and he spoke. It was easy to tell that the memories that Anon, the glacial gazer, bestowed upon the shard golem were not extremely advanced. It appeared to be the basics of water manipulation were just part of the water mana knowledge it possessed and was showing off to Midnight. Otherwise, the goal to communicate and to learn seemed to be the core focus of every other skill. Although, this was enough to understand when Walker thought about what he had learned about the glacial gazer race. They were long lived and craved knowledge. They would be curious enough to venture in to places that they would surely perish in. A thirst for knowledge like that would be simple enough to forget bestowing more knowledge on to this shard golem and allow it only to absorb as much as it could without hesitation. Catching a few words here and there, the shard golem was sharing how water mana was both pure and impure. "The less dense it was the less pure it was and the harder it was to make it in to ice. How water could flow even in a denser form but the will behind it need to be much greater. The will to become part of that water and make it move even if it is solid ice is beyond just manipulation. It is a form of being in your inner self as well." The small explanations were something that many could say, however the way the mana lived around the shard golem made it take deeper and newer meaning. The bubbles of water changed and frozen in to different shapes. Became unique phases of denser water mana and slowly showed the degree of control needed to make a bubble in to ice. Yet, it also showed that just condensing and making the mana purer in smaller bubbles could be more potent. Small droplets of frozen water radiated a fog that made ice crystals form around them. A purer and more potent form of water mana manipulation that came with understanding water mana to a greater depth. These small frozen condensed water mana droplets also shattered more easily. Showing that besides will there had to be constant manipulation or else they would be lost. It was a balancing act. Control, will, ambient manas, understanding…. Walker felt he could go one and on with these thoughts while watching the range of control he was witnessing right this moment. Even small additions to what Walker knew right now was something to be proud of. This though? It was a larger explanation of phases of purity and density that could educate him about how to better use water mana as a whole. When comparing this to all manas though? Well, Walker could manage to begin experimenting with making denser and purer balls of all manas he could manipulate. While space mana wasn't something he could do that with he could easily begin doing so with the basic elemental manas. He would be able to see if he was failing to manipulate or add his will to manas. More importantly, he would be able to see how the manas in his body reacted. Could he strengthen his body just by adding purer or denser manas in to his being? When he saw Midnight breathe in a larger amount of water mana, Walker saw that she had grasped a little more understanding of water mana. To the point that she was able to condense her breath within her body to do more than a water of and ice dragon breath. Instead when Midnight breathed out at a nearby rock, a stream of dense water left her maw. It was somewhat chaotic, but it was pressurized to the point that a larger dent was cut in tot he rock itself. If she managed to focus on it even more there was a very high chance she would be able to use it as a blade. Her purified or condensed water dragon breath could cut through that rock like a knife through butter. While that would take training, the change in mentality toward Midnight's internal water mana manipulations as very clear. She glanced at Walker, the surprise in her eyes told him she had not expected that to go as well as it had. The shard golem moved around her a bit showing interest. It was very glad to see Midnight attack like that and a little extra frosty fog moved around it due to its excitement. As far as Walker could tell, when Amon received the shard golem back in to its body there would be a lot of joy mixed it to what it had seen. Just this little bit of teaching and knowledge sharing had spawned enough of a new event to get a big reaction . "Midnight, I am going to move us quickly to Genesis, the other small mapping orbs were delivered ahead of us." Walker saw and checked the communication crystal messages he had received. Apparently Mordant and Rise had challenged their elder dragons to bring the small mapping orbs around. It seemed that their rivalry was paying off in some ways already. It was also clear that this was not a temporary moment for them. Just the fact that Rise had advanced her knowledge of light mana ahead of the other Royal dragons' understandings of their own mana was enough to spur a movement. Soon, every dragon would be pushing themselves for advancement even more than what they were doing now. It wouldn't be a fight, but the arrogant rivalry would spark a much faster growth than what everyone was seeing even now. "I have a royal dragon I want you to meet shard of anon. His name is Current and he is a water dominator dragon and a royal dragon who is in charge of all the water dragons within the Genesis alliance. Our alliance of world races and even some within the elemental planes. I am sure you can show him a lot and he can show you a lot." This simple idea to encourage more growth would also give the golem shard a water based environment to show Anon one day what the water territory was like. How other manas might mix with the water and change the flow of everything. While it might be slower this way, it was a good way to introduce the glacial gazer to Genesis comfortably. A small show of respect that could and lost certainly would eventually lead to more progress and bonds. Please say no to piracy! Don't take part in crime! Don't patronize thieves!
