"The power of the seven virtues?" asked a brown-haired woman. "What are those powers?"
"That’s right. The seven powers of virtue are also called the enigma. It consists of: Patience, Charity, Wisdom, honesty, self-control, and honor," he said as he pointed his index finger at each of the pictures on each door. "These seven powers are symbolized by different symbols: Patience symbol of hourglass, Charity symbol of heart, Wisdom symbol of book, Honesty symbol of balance scale, self-control symbol of water drop, and Honor symbol of crown. Each of these seven enigmas has its astral creature called a Daemon. These Daemons will help the Daemonist to defeat the creatures of darkness that emerge from within the midnight-gate."
"But, how do we summon Daemons to help us fight against the creatures of darkness?" asked a silver-haired man in the crowd.
"Bond. You should have a strong bond with your daemon. To strengthen your bond with your daemon, you must frequently interact and communicate with it. There are several ways you can do this, which are: Fight together with your Daemon inside the Midnight gate, Mind link, or get special items that can increase your Daemon bond. These items can usually only be found inside certain Midnight gates."
"Mind Link?" The silver-haired man furrowed his brow. "What is that? I’ve never heard of it at all."
"Mind Link is a verbal communication ability that a Daemonist can have with their daemon through telepathy, no matter where they are. By using mind link, the Daemonist will better understand the condition of his daemon to strengthen the bond without having to physically meet."
’Interesting, so even though I’m already outside of the Midnight portal, I still can communicate with my Daemon. Quite an interesting method.’
"However, building a strong Mind link requires a high level of concentration and a strong physique from the Daemonist," Mr. Luis explained. "Is there any other questions?"
"What about the insanity level? When I first opened my status windows, the insanity level only reached 99%. What will happen if the insanity level reaches 100%?" asked Shaan curiously.
Hearing Shaan’s question, Mr. Luis was silent for a moment. "Good, very good question. I don’t think anyone would pay attention to that at all," he smiled. "If your insanity level reaches 100%, then your Daemon will lose control and may kill you."
’Oh my, so... so Daemons can kill us? This is crazy. I don’t know about that at all.’
"Therefore, your insanity level must not reach 100% because if it reaches 100%, it will be very difficult to stop your Daemon," Mr. Luis said. "Alright, if there are no questions, we will start the first session: Bonding. You must have gotten each of the symbols on each of your palms, right? Now, all of you move towards the door according to the symbol you have."
Without delay, everyone in the room began to move following Mr. Luis’ directions until everyone was in the right position. Mr. Luis, along with the other six members, then directed one by one the people to enter and pass through the door in front of them.
’I wonder what’s behind this door.’
When it came to Shaan’s turn, he slowly opened the door, and his face immediately tightened when he saw what was in front of him. Honestly, for the first time, he saw a large tube that was approximately twice the size of his body placed in the center of the room. Surrounding it was a long string of cables connected to a monitor screen in the room.
’What is this tube exactly?’
"Sir, please step inside the astral capsule and don’t forget to close the door," said one of the officers in the room. "So that we can start the Daemon summoning ritual as soon as possible."
When Shaan was inside the astral capsule, he noticed just beneath his feet, there were some kind of mysterious carvings that were white. Strangely, the engravings seemed to form a pattern of symbols which Shaan had never seen before.
"Alright, I’ll start the summoning ritual. Don’t panic and stay calm while the astral capsule machine works."
Shaan just nodded his head at the officer’s instructions. Only a few minutes later, the officer began to turn on the astral capsule, and instantly the mysterious symbol under Shaan’s feet emitted light until it filled the entire astral capsule.
’Oh my, what... what’s happening?’
The symbol in Shaan’s palm suddenly glowed, and he could feel a mysterious energy flowing through his body. Hot. Cold. His whole body instantly felt an unusual change in sensation, and instantly his vision went dark.
’Where...Where is this?’
Shaan came to his senses when he realized he was in a room that he had never seen before. The room was dominated by the color white and seemed so vast that there was no end in sight. Strange, what exactly was this room?
As Shaan was in confusion, he saw the figure of an astral creature in front of him. Its body size was twice as large as Shaan’s, and it appeared to be wearing a long robe. Its entire body was covered with a thick layer of armor equipped with wings on both sides. Not only that, one of its hands could be seen clutching a large arrow, making the astral creature look like a hero.
[I am Robin Hood, an astral being from one of the seven powers of virtue, Honesty. I have come to answer the call for a bond with my master.]
’Oh my, I can feel that there is a very strong foreign energy in his body. Could this be the power of an astral being?’
[I ask you, are you my master?]
"Yes, I am your master. My name is Shaan Devansh, and I want to build a bond with you."
[Fate has brought us together, and I will be willing to help you, Mr. Shaan.]
Suddenly, a mysterious light emanated from the symbol in Shaan’s hand. The light was so bright that Shaan could not see anything at all, and immediately his body was already in the astral capsule.
"Mr. Shaan, are you all right?" asked the officer with a curious look on his face. "Have you managed to meet with your Daemon?"
Shaan nodded his head. "Yes, I’ve met Robin Hood and I’ve built a bond with him."
