Master Of Astral Summoner Chapter 32

Shaan sighed as he finally made it to the train car in front of him. Damn, just a little more. If Robin Hood had been a little late in pulling Shaan up, he would have fallen into that black pool, and he was pretty sure there must be something horrible down there ready to eat his body. "Perfect calculation, Robin Hood." Shaan rolled his eyes [Hey, at least I tried to save you. If I had kept counting to three, I’m pretty sure the golf club would have broken, and you would have fallen straight down.] ’Yes, Robin Hood’s words are true.’ "Never mind, instead of discussing that. Now we need to get off this train as quickly as possible." Shaan walked closer to the window, seeing where they were. "It looks like there are still two more carriages to pass through, so we can get off this train." [Yes, and I can also sense another daemon energy a few meters ahead.] Robin Hood rubbed his chin. [I’m sure if we can get off this train, we’ll most definitely meet up with the other daemonists] "Alright, then. It’s time for us to move." As he walked along the train carriage, he noticed many bones scattered on the floor. Judging from their size, the bones were twice the size of an average human and not creatures Shaan knew. "B-But what kind of creature could take down something that big?" [Hey, Shaan. Look at that.] Robin Hood pointed ahead with his finger. [Look, and tell me what you think?] Shaan’s face immediately paled when he saw that the front of the carriage was covered with a huge number of spiderwebs. Not just that—surrounding him were clusters of oval-shaped, white cocoons. And there weren’t just one or two; there were dozens, maybe even hundreds, hanging all along the length of the carriage. "W-what’s the heck is that?" [I don’t know, I’ll try to check it out.] Robin Hood slowly approached one of the cocoons and tore it off. [Shaan, you have to see this.] Shaan’s eyes widened in shock when he saw that inside the strange cocoon were several eggs the size of Shaan’s palm. Strangely enough, the color of the eggs themselves was white with black spots, and honestly, he had never seen an egg model like that before. Damn, it seemed that this place had turned into a nest of spiders. "Hmm... if you look at the size of the egg, the mother spider must be enormous." [Yes, you’re right] Robin Hood nodded his head quickly. [But, why don’t I see any spiders around here at all?] A few minutes later, Robin Hood suddenly noticed a strange movement in front of the front carriage. He immediately informed Shaan about this, but Shaan didn’t believe Robin Hood’s words and dismissed it as a hoax. [Shaan, I’m serious. I saw something there.] "Ah, you must be imagining things. I don’t see anything other than yellow lights in this place at all. How could there be anything?" Shaan froze immediately when he saw something passing quickly in the front carriage. However, he could not be sure what it was because the lighting in this place only depended on the old yellow lights inside the train carriage. He then slowly walked towards the door of the carriage, not far from their position. "oh, holy crap... That... That..." [Insanity level increased by 20%] [Insanmeter indicator: green] An eight-legged creature was seen in the carriage. It was facing away from Shaan, so he couldn’t see its front clearly at all. Even so, he could see that the size of the spider’s body was much larger than the normal size of a spider. Its pitch-black body color with a pattern of white spots also made the creature look quite terrifying. [Shaan, this spider is blocking our only way out of this train.] "Yes, I know. We have to find a way to get off this train?" Shaan walked into the first carriage. "I’m going to see what that thing is doing." Shaan slowly approached the creature and saw that the monstrous creature was chewing its prey. Fresh blood was dripping from its sharp fangs as it tore through the body of its prey with ease. Shaan, who witnessed this, could only swallow his saliva. He simply couldn’t imagine what would happen if he were caught by the monstrous creature. Surely it would immediately tear his body apart like a piece of paper. Hearing the sound of shattering glass, the creature immediately turned around, revealing four pairs of glowing red eyes staring directly at Shaan with a terrifying gaze. Without wasting a second, the giant spider lunged toward him at high speed, launching a vicious attack. The monstrous spider’s attack tore through the surface of the carriage wall with ease. Shaan sighed deeply, realizing that he had fortunately managed to avoid the attack. ’Damn, this creature... It’s incredibly strong.’ Shaan drew his dual swords. ’I need to figure out a way to defeat this thing.’ Shaan drew his dual swords and prepared to counterattack. But strangely, the spider did not attack Shaan. It just stood there and did nothing. Oddly enough, Shaan was only a few steps away—well within striking range—and yet the creature didn’t move. ’Weird. Could it be... this spider is blind?’ Shaan slowly picked up a shard of glass near his feet, readying himself to throw it. ’Let’s put that theory to the test.’ [Hey, Shaan, what are you doing?] whispered Robin Hood. [Why are you picking up those glass shards?] "Just trust me," Shaan replied calmly. "I know what I’m doing." Shaan threw the broken glass forward, and the huge spider walked quickly towards the broken glass. The terrifying creature lashed out with its long legs, attacking the source of the sound—even though there was nothing there. [Heck, what’s that spider doing?] "Looks like I was right," Shaan said with a satisfied smile. "This spider can’t see us—it must rely on its sharp hearing to detect movement. No wonder it didn’t attack me earlier." Realizing this, Shaan suddenly remembered one of the terrifying creatures he had once read about in ’The Wildest Survival Methods in the Dark Realm’. According to the book, there was indeed a type of spider with an enormous, powerful body, but with poor eyesight. Instead, it relied on its exceptionally keen hearing to locate its prey. [Shaan, we must take this creature down now while we have the chance.] Robin Hood drew his bow, preparing to launch an attack. [Come on, Shaan, what are you doing?] "No, Robin Hood. It’ll be useless. I’m sure the creature can predict your attack easily, and we need tactics at the very least," Shaan smirked. "Don’t worry, I have tactics to defeat it."
