“Yang Ji, Yang Xu!” The first to come screaming in excitement was Shan Qing Luo. Though rushing, she still exudes unparalleled charm. If men were here, they would naturally be mesmerised by the sight. But for Yang Ji and Yang Xu, they wanted to hide at this moment.
Shan Qing Luo came down and swooped the two into her bosom, tightly nuzzling her cheeks against their heads as though that was the most common of greetings.
As for the twins, they had to fight for breath under those two bosom…
This always happened when their Mother Shan got a little too excited after not meeting them for a while. Out of all their Mothers, she was the most expressive and the most touchy. Though the twins had gotten used to such occurrences, Yang Ji, having grown up, wished she would stop since it was slightly embarrassing to still be nestled in his manner.
In fact, Shan Qing Luo did not let them go until all their other Mothers had gathered.
“Qing Luo, I think that’s enough. Are you planning to suffocate them to death?” A melodious joking voice came. It was from none other than Zhu Qing.
“En, we haven’t even seen them yet and here you are, already taking up all their attention.” Ji Yao, added.
“Alright. Alright. I just couldn’t help myself when my Children are finally back.” Shan Qing Luo gave a small sigh and released her hug. When she put them down and her eyes met with their adorable eyes, she immediately wanted to give another hug. However, reminding herself to be restrained, she just settled with a peck on their forehead before backing off.
It took a moment before the twins could gather their bearings. However, once they did, they quickly greeted each Mother in order, “Yang Ji and Yang Xu greets Mother Ning Chang, Mother Qing Luo, Mother Yue, Mother Qing, Mother Yao, Mother Ru Meng, Mother Hua Chang and Mother Ling Wan.”
This greeting was basically a well established line at this point, with the twins saying both of their names instead of individually.
The Mothers all gave a nod and Yu Ru Meng turned to Xia Ning Chang, indicating with her eyes, ‘since we are about to have some serious discussions between us, it would be best to move the children away for now’.
Xia Ning Chang gave a nod and was about to bring up that she would take the children away when another loud shout came, quite familiar to earlier.
“Yang Ji! Yang Xu! My Grandbabies are back! Come! Let your Grandma see both of you!” This time, it was Dong Su Zhu who came rushing in. Since she was in the furthest region from this place, she took the longest to get here–also with her cultivation being the lowest. However, her enthusiasm to see her Grandchildren was unmatched. At this point, even mountains could not stop her.
Dong Su Zhu immediately came in and the first thing she did was check their clothes and hair, then their skin to see if they had sustained any injustice! There, she immediately noticed a problem, on Yang Ji’s sleeve, there was blood!
She immediately questioned, “Who hurt you? Come, tell your Grandma. I’ll help you two teach them a lesson.”
Being the ‘obedient’ children that they were, the twins instantly greeted their Grandmother first before anything else. “Yang Ji and Yang Xu greet Grandma.”
“Good good good. Now, tell me who is the baddie who hurt you so that I can go teach them a lesson.” Dong Su Zhu urged once more, with eyes ready to seek justice. In her eyes, these two good children could never do no wrong. After all, they were always so obedient in front of her. Sure, Yang Ji might be a little mischievous from time to time, but he would always listen to her and Yang Xu was exemplary at always meeting her expectations. Even the other Grandchildren might not necessarily be as well-behaved as these two.
However, before the twins answered, Su Yan gently cut in. “Mother, Yang Ji and Yang Xu have just gotten back and are quite tired. I will share what happened with all of you. For now, we should just let them rest.”
Xia Ning Chang took this opportunity to add. “En, I’ll take them away first. Eldest Sister, you can tell me about everything later.”
“Alright. I understand, but you need to tell me every single detail, got it?” Dong Su Zhu easily relented since it was Su Yan who spoke.
Su Yan gave a nod, and Xia Ning Chang took the opportunity to grab the two children by the hand. She led them away to a corner, where they would not disturb the meeting.
However, before the twins left, Yang Xu gave an ‘inconspicuous’ thumbs up to Yu Ru Meng, and then a fist.
At that point, Yu Ru Meng gave a small nod, with luscious lips that formed a smile, but her eyes definitely held fury.

At this point, the Wives Council had basically been assembled, except for Xia Ning Chang. However, that was not an issue as Xia Ning Chang did not hold as much interest in these gatherings. She would often just keep quiet and listen to what was being talked about if she was present. Also, when she met up with one of the other Sisters, she could always ask them about what was being discussed. In a way, that could function as a conversation starter for her.
So, out of all the Mothers, she was normally the one to take care of the children while the others were busy.
While Su Yan was sharing what had happened during the twin’s trial, many Mothers could be seen wincing. They knew that the trial would be dangerous but not to this extent.
Dong Shu Zhu could be seen with a pale face, as she regretted not forcibly cancelling the whole trial, using all her might.
Even the more cold Ji Yao could not help but have some of her aura leak, causing the surrounding temperature to pullment, which was contrasting to Zhu Qing, who would increase the surrounding temperature with her leaking aura.
Typically, anyone would feel their skin burn or freeze if they were around these two women when they leaked out their aura like that. However, since everyone present had high cultivation, this was not that big of an issue.
At this moment, some were glad that none of the other children were here.
Qu Hua Chang and Tao Ling Wan were both biting their lips.
As for the two most cunning of the bunch, Shan Qing Luo and Yu Ru Meng, the former was frowning while the latter was smiling. However, both of their eyes had unmistakable fury in them. They were certainly not going to let this matter rest.
“We need to quickly decide on how we will deal with this!” Zhu Qing straightforwardly said, slamming the table, which was rare for someone like her. However, no one corrected her. Instead, the all gave a nod in response.
“There is no need to rush. Our precious Daughter has brought us time.” Yu Ru Meng smiled, but her eyes were certainly not smiling.
“Oh? Was that what those hand signals meant?” Shan Qing Luo asked.
Naturally, all the women, with their high cultivation, had noticed those hand gestures. It was just that they did not question it, since it was obviously meant for Yu Ru Meng.
Yu Ru Meng smiled, choosing not to elaborate on it too much. After all, this was her little ‘secret code’ with Yang Xu. Though those observant enough would be able to deduce what Yang Xu was telling her, she would still like to not leak it out.
“Just know that our Daughter wishes for her Father to be punished, and that he would not be coming back for at least a day.” Yu Ru Meng said with narrowed eyes.
