In the eternal city of Nightingale, a small-winged pigeon made its way through the dark sky and soon arrived at the windowsill of a lonely-looking woman.
Bella excitedly took the envelope from the pigeon's leg and opened it without the slightest hesitation, but then something dropped into her lap.
It was a small, rusty necklace.
Bella took the necklace and found the engravings of the name 'Kiernan' on it.
She didn't think that she would ever see this necklace again.
"Why did he send me this…?"
Bella thought out loud and then opened the letter. She immediately noticed the slightly crude-looking handwriting.
'It looks like he wasn't taught to write correctly. I bet he spent all his time training martial arts. That's not good~ I could teach him proper penmanship, maybe next time we meet.'
She thought to herself and then started reading the message found inside the letter.
"I heard everything from Nevaeh, and I don't blame you for leaving us anymore.
"However, is it that difficult to talk to my dad? He's been in pain over you for so long. Send him a letter, at least, to ease his mind.
"I know you don't care about him, but he is my father and the father of your son. It hadn't been easy for him to raise me alone.
"He deserves closure.
"Anyway, I asked Nevaeh if there is a reason why we can't use phones to communicate. The pigeon nodded yes, so I guess there is. I won't ask what it is. We can stay as letter buddies, it's fine by me.
"If you want to call me, though, I left my phone number at the back of this letter. I don't know what else to write, so I'll just stop here.
Bella finished reading the letter and had some mixed emotions. It was clear that her son was quite angry at her, which broke her heart into a thousand pieces.
'I don't want him to be angry at me…'
She knew that it seemed heartless, but she didn't have any feelings towards Karma. It was true that he was the father of her son, but she couldn't even remember how he looked.
He told his name, but she didn't remember even that. It was as if he was a stranger to her.
'I don't have any recollection of that night. I kind of tried to erase that experience from my memory. It just happened to be him that I slept with.
'Even though Kiernan was a baby born from an accident, I still treasure and love him, but I can't say the same about his father.
'But it is clear that Kiernan loves him dearly, and I appreciate him for raising our child so well. He had grown into a strong and handsome young man.
'Kiernan is right. I think I should write him a letter.'
Bella then turned the letter around and saw the phone number at the back.
She wanted to call him. She really wanted to. However, her father, Karl-Michael, would find out.
'Father is definitely spying on my phone records. He'll know that I've been talking with my son and will definitely make sure that I won't be able to send any more letters.'
Even though she hated to wait for the pigeon to take so long to go to New Rakuya and back, it was the only way she could communicate with her son and keep their conversations secret.
'I guess I'll write two letters. I want to ask my son some questions~'
"I don't understand how Azer can blame you two for taking revenge for Bart! It was Montclair High who started it!"
Dominic said angrily.
He, Jonathan, Julian, and Kiernan were seated around a table in Jonathan's room. They wanted to know what happened with Montclair High.
"I should be the one to get the blame, not Kiernan."
Julian said with a deep sigh. He had a bandage on his cheek, covering the cut from Zachary's pocket knife.
Kiernan didn't speak about him getting blame, since he didn't care. He kept pressing an ice bag against his forehead to ease the pain from where Zachary had headbutted him.
"Anyways, it looks like Zachary is not a match for Kiernan. It looks like the victory is almost in the bag!"
Jonathan said with a smile.
"Don't celebrate too early. There is something wrong with that guy."
Kiernan said, and uncomfortably rubbed his chest. He bandaged the spot where Zachary poked a hole in his chest.
While Tight Binding closed the wound, it was still bleeding slightly, so he put some bandage on it.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Julia entered the room with a worried gaze in her eyes. She saw the two young men quite injured, making her worried gaze deepen.
"Julia, how can your father blame them for what happened? I don't understand."
"Calm down, Dominic. In the end, he is the principal of the school, and he must act the part. He can't possibly be happy about his students fighting people from other schools."
"I am sorry, but I don't really know either…"
Julia said with a sorry look and then sat down in one of the chairs that were left unattended.
