Ruan Qiuqiu grabbed the rope and remained hanging off of it for about a minute. After confirming that the rope that she and Little Yu had made was enough to bear her weight, she took the rope down.
Mo Yu recovered from the surprise of seeing her jumping off the tree. He looked at Ruan Qiuqiu in admiration. “Big sister Qiuqiu, will the rope work?”
If it didn’t work, what else could they do? There was no way she would follow Little Yu’s suggestion of flinging him over. It was also impossible for her to swing over there like Tarzan. While it was possible that she could swing herself over there, it would be difficult to get back here without a rope.
Although this method might not be successful and was dangerous, it was the most reliable one.
Mo Yu looked at the cliff across from them. The top part was almost perpendicular to the ground and the cliff was full of sharp, protruding rocks. Although he was scared, he still offered, “Let me go instead. I’m a boy. Grandpa and older brother said I should protect girls.”

Little Yu thought it over for a few seconds before nodding. “Big sister Qiuqiu, you can count on me. You’re so light. I can definitely catch you.”
Ruan Qiuqiu’s smile deepened. Although it was true that she was very light, she still felt happy hearing such a cute child saying that.
Ruan Qiuqiu ruffled Little Yu’s hair. Without delaying any further, she brought the rope and spear with her as she climbed up the tallest giant tree. Holding the tree trunk, she wrapped spiritual energy around the stone, aimed the stone at a large, sharp, protruding rock, and flung it over. She was strong enough to fling it far enough, but her angle was off and she missed her target.
Ruan Qiuqiu used more spiritual energy. On her seventh attempt, the angle of her throw was good. With the assistance of spiritual energy, she successfully secured the stone to the sharp rock with the rope, then she wrapped the rope three times around the rock and the stone-end of the rope.
After finally succeeding, Ruan Qiuqiu sighed in relief. She straightened the rope, climbed partway down the tree, and repeatedly tested that the rope could withstand a lot of tension. Then, she climbed back up and tied the other end of the rope to the tree.
Ruan Qiuqiu made sure that nothing would suddenly fall out from the backpack, then she took a deep breath, grabbed the rope, and left the tree.
The sudden increase in weight caused the rope to dip. Ruan Qiuqiu’s feet swayed in mid-air. How could it be possible for her to remain unafraid at such a height? Moreover, she didn’t have any safety equipment. With her scalp feeling numb, she forced herself to not look down. Tightly grasping the rope with both hands, she inched forward once the rope had stabilized.
Below her, Little Yu was looking up at her and stamping his feet in worry.
Fortunately, there was less than three meters between the giant tree and the cliff. Ruan Qiuqiu finally reached the other side; the daunting experience ended without serious mishap. Most of the protruding rocks on the cliff were sharp, and they damaged Ruan Qiuqiu’s animal skin clothing and left superficial wounds on her knees, palms, and arms.
Ruan Qiuqiu couldn’t attend to her painful injuries. She took the spear out of her backpack and staggered forward at a run to the giant tree in front of her after seeing a glimpse of a yellowish root. She crouched down and gently swept away the snow with her hand.
Once she had seen enough to confirm that it was little ginseng, Ruan Qiuqiu finally happily smiled.
Little Yu was right. There was ginseng here!
Ruan Qiuqiu’s eyes lit up. She carefully started to dig out the rest of the ginseng.
