Intruder!
“Gosh you’re so much handsome than the last time we met. what’s the secret?” she asked, a smile crossing her lips. she trailed her fingers from his cheeks down his chest. Brian held her hands before she could go down any further.
I had mixed feelings about everything happening right now. I never thought I’d see this scenario in my entire life, again!
Brian glanced at my direction but I threw my face the other way.
What does she want?
why did she come now when I’m trying to pick up the broken pieces of my marriage?
what if Brian has some sort of feelings for her?
would it change anything that Janelle is here?
I really don’t want to believe that. I doubt it!
I nervously squeezed my fingers together as I stood there listening to everything.
“Janelle you have to leave” he said walking her to the door but pulled away.
“Why? I just got here. didn’t you miss me?” she asked “If there’s anyone in this house which should leave then it’s her” She pointed fingers at me.
“Don’t tell me you fell for my man just these few weeks here?” she threw a question at me but I didn’t respond.
I’m trying to keep my cool and I hate it when someone steps on me. Brian should make a move or I will.
“Don’t you dare talk to my wife that way” Brian flared up.
he was defending me.
“Wife? seriously?” she let out a laugh “I know you’re only saying all these cause you missed me. I’m sure she’s not good in bed. she can’t even satisfy you like I would. Brian baby please don’t do this. you don’t know what I had to go through before coming here” she said making herself look pitiful.
“And you’ll have to go through that again back home. just leave” he said
“Don’t tell me you’re having feelings for her. we made a pact. you told me to come visit you when I had the chance and this is what I get after coming here?” she half yelled
“I’m so sorry—”
“don’t you dare” she cut him short “what do you want to say? sorry? for what? for using me? and I should just walk away with it because it’s going to fix everything? you used me Brian. you promised to be with me and I believed you” she said like someone who’s about to cry.
“I never promised you anything Janelle. I’ve always told you that nothing can happen between us and that I never felt anything for you. you were just a fling to pass the time and you know it” he spat.
“So I’m the fling and she’s what?” she pointed at me again “A rebound?”
“She’s my wife”
“just on paper Brian. why don’t you just tell her already that you can never love her and that you just used her to satisfy that thing between your legs” she said and my eyes flew open
“I admit that I never loved her the first time we got married but right now, I don’t think I can be with any other woman that’s not her”
she smirked
“Really?”
“Just leave Janelle. I don’t want to hurt you”
“Just shut the f--k up. shut up OK? you’ve already hurt me and you’re still hurting me and now you’re saying you don’t want to hurt me after everything we’ve been through together. I gave you my body, my soul, everything and you have the guts to talk about hurt and feelings?” she yelled “what have I not done for you Brian. I gave you a shoulder to cry on when you felt worried and depressed. why didn’t you tell me then? you promised to get rid of her and that you married her only to teach her a lesson. you said this honeymoon was just a show and I believed you so what the hell are you talking about?”
“I was wrong Janelle—”
“no baby you’re not and that’s because you’re mine and I will never stop until I make you mine forever. enjoy your union cause it won’t last anyway” she said and walked to where I stood
“Tata sweetheart” she said, blowing me a kiss before walking out.
I closed the door and made for the bedroom.
“Ciara?”
I stopped on my tracks
“you don’t have to say anything. I completely understand Brian. that you can never be mine and—”
he placed a finger on my lips. the tears already found its way from my eyes.
“I am yours Ciara. and that’s cause I’m your husband. you don’t have to listen to anything she says. we’re in this together alright?” he said staring into my eyes for an answer.
I simply nod and he pulled me in for an embrace.
I don’t think I can survive if I loose you Brian. our relationship was on a Rocky start but I want nothing more than just being with you and only you.
I just hope Janelle backs off sooner.

I went out of the house to get some grocery at the store. to be honest, I just wanted to leave the house. I was already feeling suffocated.
Brian left before I did, although he promised to come back as soon as he was done with what he went for.
I took the cab and left. I arrived at the store and bought some things to make dinner. I just wanted to give Brian a surprise meal.
I was scared than ever.
I never thought I’d be in a situation where I’ll have to fight over my husband but here it was happening to me.
I picked up the bags and took a cab home.
the curtains were down.
that’s a first, is Brian back already. I pushed the door knob and it opened.
did someone break into our house? I was beyond scared. I thought of calling the police but decided against it.
I walked inside the house and it looks very okay. no damage or whatsoever.
then who’s inside?
I walk to the bedroom only to discover that it was neatly decorated. I smiled, I guess Brian did this.
Maybe he saw how stressed I was and decided to surprise me. The bed was arranged with Rose petals on it.
The curtains were closed and a bottle of champagne with two glasses on a table. Flowers everywhere and candlelights that made the room look more magnificent.
I took a flower and sniffed.
it smelled divine. So he can be romantic when he wants to.

I heard noises coming from the kitchen and went out see. I reached the dining area only to see the table beautifully set up. he must have put a lot of thoughts into this.
I stood there admiring everything when the kitchen door flew open.
“Thanks so much Br—” I paused immediately my eyes caught hers.
She wore a short sexy dress that exposed her curves and cleavage. I could even see the color of her undies from under cause it was a see through. her makeup on flick and her blonde hair fell down in curls. she must have visited a salon before coming here.
“Hi Ciara Salter. Brian’s new toy” she said and sat down in a seductive manner “we’ve never really gotten a chance to talk you see” she said rolling her hair round her fingers.
I felt the urge to choke her to death, right there and then.
“what are you doing here and who gave you the right to use my kitchen?” I asked. fists clenched
she looked around then back at me “isn’t it obvious. I’m here to see my Brian.”
“you are out of your mind” I yell
“yeah I know and that’s what makes Brian go crazy around me. you know what I want you to do for me?” she asked but I didn’t respond “I want you to do what you’re so good at. lock yourself in a room till I’m done” she clicked her tongue
“Leave my house Janelle. Brian doesn’t even want you here”
“Says who?” she let out a laugh “you? you’re the one not needed here. he loves me and I do. you’re just the witch trying to ruin everything but tonight, it’s all going to change. I’ll remind him who he wants more, and you’ll have no choice but to deal with it” she snapped
“I really like you Ciara.” she went on “I mean you tried so hard to push Brian away from you but what I don’t understand is why you haven’t left him now. you made it so clear that you hated him and had nothing to do with him anymore… ” she paused and looked at me “or, don’t tell me you love him and have feelings for him” she said mockingly.
“Yes. I do love him”
“tsk! tsk!! tsk!!!.. I pity you darling cause Brian doesn’t even have a heart”
“you claim to love him but what a shame that you know nothing about him. too bad, I thought you were somehow smart but I can’t exchange words with a whore” I said and it got her pissed
“Me? whore?” she pointed to herself “and that makes you what? his wife? he’s just married to you on paper. don’t think that you both have a relationship”
“At least you acknowledged the fact that we’re married, paper or not, he belongs to me and anywhere you take that paper, people would still admit that I am the wife and you are the mistress” I said and she flared up.
“You know what. I’m sure that you and Brian doesn’t do this” she said pointing at the table. I only smile
“I prepare food for him and after eating, we drink and… I’m sure you know the next part.”
“How nice of it that you are the one to throw yourself at him. You prepare food to surprise him?” I laugh “but he prepares food to surprise me. he dresses me up and takes me out… ” I paused when I saw how frustrated she was.
“How much do you want?” she asks folding her hands together
“excuse me?”
“how much do you want so I can pay you to leave my Brian”
“no money in this world can make me leave my husband. he’s worth more than anything you have to offer and if I really needed money, my husband is willing to give to me. more than I could ever want” I simply tell her.
“Fine then let’s share, you can have him on weekdays and me on weekends”
I laugh
“don’t you get it. Brian is mine. now and forever till the end of time”
“you’re really desperate you know. you just want everything for yourself”
“Me? desperate? or is the mistress of my husband who wants to offer me money and do anything to have my husband” I say and a tear trailed down her cheeks.
“in case you’re forgetting Janelle, I’m the Mrs Salter, your boss and I have all the right to be here unlike you, game over” I said and just then Brian walked in.
“Ciara I’m home” he calls
“Hear that?” I tell her “that’s my husband calling my name because he knows who the wife is”

Brian managed to walk up to us and he was shocked seeing Janelle and I in that position.
“Brian honey, she called me a whore and that I’m desperate…she’s just jealous because we love each other so much”she said shedding fake tears as she threw herself on him.
“stop this Janelle, just stop. you’ll just keep on hurting yourself if you do this”
“Get her out of this house Brian, put that mistress in her place” I say and she rushed to hit me but Brian held her took her out. she kept on pleading, saying she loves him, crying her eyes out. I just sat down on the chair.
Brian came back to meet me sitting down, I didn’t say a word.
my mind was restless.
I just fought for Brian and defended him, all because I love him. I just hope it’s worth it!
