After a couple of hours, Ryu Mee-Yon finally came back.
The hotel room door was still ajar, so she just walked right in.
The door creaked as she entered, carrying a bag with a new smartphone and an encyclopedia.
Michael was staring out the window, a glass of wine in his hand.
He turned his head and said, "Bring it here and open it for me."
He casually took a sip of his wine.
Ryu Mee-Yon walked over and sat down in front of him.
She opened the paper bag and pulled out the items he’d asked for.
"My Lord, here’s your new smartphone and the book you were looking for. But, may I ask you a question?" Ryu Mee-Yon said, handing him the phone, which was already out of its box.
Michael took it, then replied, "What do you want to know?"
He was busy powering on the new phone.
"My Lord, why were you looking for this book? Did something catch your attention?" Ryu Mee-Yon asked, watching him fiddle with the new phone while flipping through the encyclopedia.
"Oh, it’s nothing, just curiosity. How are things with you and the others? No problems, right?" Michael replied casually, putting the book down and looking at Ryu Mee-Yon.
Ryu Mee-Yon was mesmerized by Michael’s eyes, which shone in the moonlight.
Her face flushed slightly as she said, "I-I’m fine. My colleagues are also good to me."
She quickly turned her face away, looking at the view through the glass.
While sipping his wine, Michael looked at her and mumbled to himself, ’Korean girls really are beautiful. She looks like she works so hard for me, and judging by the curves of her body, she must be an athlete.’
After downing his wine, he put the glass down and spoke again, "Do you believe what I’m about to tell you? Have you ever seen a long-eared creature like the one in this book?"
