Twelve Years Later.....
"Why are you sad my dear?" Empress Rose asked her daughter Reca. Reca, who married King Elliot the ruler of Koda kingdom in the west that was controlled by Emperor Dean, had come to visit her mother. They were in the Empress room. Empress Rose was sitting on her bed with a cup of empty herb tea beside her. Reca was sitting next to her.
"I want to leave his mother, I can't bear the suffering anymore. Our love is lifeless," Reca said as she couldn't control her tears anymore she began to cry. "I am dying in this marriage mother, the abuse is too much and I can't take it,"
"So? Look my dear daughter, that's what every woman faces in her home. You have to be strong and fight for your home. Take a look at me, your father cheated on me so you should know they are all the same."
"Father cheated on you once and he had to apologize to you even though you sing it to his hearing at every given opportunity. Elliot changes women like his clothes. He won't apologize to me when he is caught and he beats me every day. If I remove my clothes that I am wearing, mother, you won't find my skin smooth any more. I am ashamed of my skin mother. I don't want to marry him again."
"Did you hear what you said? You are not going anywhere my dear, Marriage is for better and for worse so get used to it."
"Mother, you are the one who forced me to marry Elliot in the first place."
"I won't deny that but you are to make your marriage work out. Do you know what your father would say if he hears it? You will be bringing shame to me. I know what I did to make him marry you. He serves your father's brother. Leaving him he will fight against us and your father is too old and sick to even lift his hands anymore." Empress Rose told her daughter. "Make your marriage work, Reca . After all, even if he brings in other women, he married you and you both have a child now."
Reca couldn't only nod and did her best to clean away her tears carefully without cleaning her powder which she had used in concealing her scars and wounds.
Six years ago her mother had introduced her to King Elliot. His kingdom falls under the kingdoms Emperor Ariadne brother rules. How her mother had crossed the thick long wall to get to the kingdom of Koda remains a mystery to Reca. She had told her mother she didn't like the man and her mother's words were:
"You won't like him now but as you spend time with him, you will gradually fall in love with him. Do you know who Elliot is? He is the only special advisor to your father's brother that is why he was given his kingdom to rule. Do you know what that means? With him joining our family by marrying you, you are making Ashland strong my daughter and people will respect us. So marry him and you will become the envy of every woman in the kingdom and outside Ashland. He is going to treat you right, he has promised me that."
Remembering those words made her eyes water briefly.
"I have heard you mother," Reca said, standing up on her feet. She was bound to this marriage and there is no escaping. The first day her husband had laid his hands on her was the same week she had found out she was a week pregnant. Early the next day, she had run back to Ashland to report to her mother and brothers, especially Morgan since Fred is still young. But Morgan took her back to Koda and warned her never to come back because of a mere beating. She cried her eyes out that day. After her marriage to Elliot, she, Morgan and Fred became distant. The brotherly and sisterly love wasn't there any more. On her previous visit she had noticed Fred and Morgan didn't see eye to eye anymore and their mother wasn't concerned about it. All her concern was about Morgan becoming the new Emperor of Ashland. "I am going to meet my father." Reca told her. Three years ago the Emperor had fallen ill all of a sudden and was bedridden. No healer could cure him.
"If he asks about how your marriage is, you know what to answer him, right dear?"
"Yes mother,"

Rumi who has now grown up to become the most beautiful girl in the entire Ashland was seen sweeping the ground. Her black hair which was now reaching her waist was tied in a ponytail. The house which was once filled with livelyness had nothing to talk about anymore. No one was in the house again, no students and most of the compound was overgrown with bushes and some part of the house had fallen. Just as she had promised Twelve Years Ago.
She had made Warlord Emera useless, a drunkard and a poor man.
It all started with her lavish weddings.
