"Who said I looked scared? Huh?" Sarah said with a fake laugh.
"I know what fear is, mother, why are you scared?"
"Nothing, I was just surprised to hear Emera's voice," Sarah said. "You've got to tell him that I am not around when he asks for me."
"Oh no, you will have to follow me if you have nothing to hide Sarah. Unless you are lying to me."
"Rumi!" Emera's voice was heard again getting closer to the room.
Sarah turned her back against Rumi. This is one of the days she needed her powers. What will she do? Will Emera recognize her? Will he still remember her?
Sarah thought.
"Mother, you've not said anything," Rumi said, closing the distance between her and Sarah and at that moment, Emera, Kira and Storm entered the room.
"I have been calling your name and you didn't respond, Rumi," Emera began to say, then remembering who he was talking to, he paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "Where is your mother? Where is the woman that told lies against me?"
"Don't call my mother a liar." Rumi said with gritted teeth as she turned slightly to glare at Emera then returned her gaze at her mother's back. "Mother, say something. This is Emera here you said you will tell him to his face that he is lying, well here he is, tell him and lets get this over with." she added.
"Whatever Emera told you is a lie, don't believe him." Sarah still said without turning around to face them.
"Why is she not facing us?" Kira demanded. "Or is she scared I will give her more house chores?" she mocked ignoring Rumi who glared at her.
"I can help with that." Storm whispers and focuses on Sarah's head and suddenly Sarah turned so fast that she nearly stumbled on her feet.
"Hey take it easy on my mother!" Rumi yelled out as she steady her mother who quickly regained her balance and tried to back them once again but found out she couldn't.
"What did you do to me? I can't move." Sarah said, staring at Storm with wide eyes.
"Well just something that will make you stay in one place." Storm replied and was surprised when Emera moved forward slowly towards Sarah.
A very loud gasp was heard coming from Emera.
"Sarah, is that really you?" Emera asked. as he stopped right in front of her. Slowly, he touched her chin then withdrew his arms, "It's really you." he added. "Where have you been? Ever since that night-"
Interrupting him abruptly.
"Where I was or have been is none of your business. Now tell this devil to let go of me." Sarah said huffing and puffing.
Emera was quiet then stare at Rumi with his calculating eyes. "Please don't tell me this is her?" he asked returning his gaze back to Sarah.
"I don't understand what you are saying Emera, this is my daughter." Sarah said stubbornly.
"Don't pretend as if you don't know what I am saying Sarah. Adaoh told me and Eden everything before we went our separate ways with her children. This was the child you stole from Adaoh that night, right? She trusted you Sarah but you betrayed her, why?"
"I don't understand what is going on here, father, which child again are you talking about?" Kira asked.
Pointing at Rumi. "This woman stole Rumi from Adaoh on the day of her delivery." Emera answered. "We were at war with Edgardo when Adaoh entered labor. She gave birth to triplets, Rumi, Gwen and you."
"I don't get you father," Kira said, shaking her head hoping what she was hearing wasn't true.
"Adaoh gave birth to triplets, Rumi is your blood sister. Just like the way Gwen is." Emera explained. "No wonder she has magic, she takes after her father.
"Impossible!" Both Kira and Rumi yelled at the same time, glaring at each other.
"This evil witch can't be my sister." Kira said with bitterness.
"I refuse and rebuke that. We can't be related." Rumi said with the same energy, then returned her gaze to her mother. "Tell him that's not the truth and that he is lying."
Sarah couldn't say anything.
"Mother, tell him right now!"
"Yes Sarah, tell Rumi the truth. Tell her how you stole her away from her real mother."
"I refuse to believe you." Rumi said her eyes were not leaving Sarah. "Say something to him."
"He is telling the truth, Rumiana, I am not your real mother. In fact I stole you from your stu.pid mother. I wanted her to feel the pain of betrayal. I wanted to kill you but then I had a second thought to train you, and now, I am regretting why I spared your life and didn't kill you."
"You see, I wasn't lying." Emera said, staring at Rumi. "I told you I wasn't lying."
"You're joking right? This is a joke Sarah, you are just trying to pull my legs." Rumi said not believing what Sarah was saying.
"I am damn serious Rumi. I am not your mother."
"Then why did you lie to her about me Sarah, what have I ever done to you?"
"Oh you deserve everything that has happened to you Emera. If not for you, I would have married the King but no, you presented Adaoh to him instead of me even though I have been your friend long before you became her friend. I had to punish you and Adaoh so I did what I did. But you and Adaoh had forgotten how powerful I am so I joined hands with Dean and with Edgardo out of the way, I gave Adaoh to Dean as his slave and guess what, I will gladly do it again, it's a pity that history doesn't repeat itself" Sarah gloated.
"So you lied to Rumi that you are her mother, you told her lies then afterwards you planted her into my family. You made her kill my wife."
"Well, if you put it that way, yes, but I didn't force Rumi to kill your wife. I was imprisoned the whole time and the little bas.tard released me not too long ago. So everything that Rumi did was her own doing, not mine."
"I can't believe this. You are not my mother and a woman named Adaoh is? Why did you make me hate Emera so much, why Sarah, why?"
"Revenge. Like I said before I wanted him to have a taste of his own medicine, besides, I wasn't the one who told you to kill Grace nor attack Juno. You single handedly did that yourself," Sarah said with a slight close-lipped smile.
"I refuse her as my sister. She is not my sister and will never be." Kira said with clenched fists. "We are better off as enemies because I hate you, like you said, you better watch your back." she added and angrily left the room. Storm followed her.
"Hey, get me out of this freezing state!" Sarah yelled at Storm who ignored her and went after Kira.
"Sarah, are you happy with what you've caused? You made an innocent girl nearly kill her own sister all because of your stupid revenge?" Emera said in sadness.
Rumi wasn't talking. She was surprised. It couldn't be true..Her mother is trying to pull her legs and she is succeeding.
Sarah laughed. "Nothing is sweeter than revenge my dear Emera. But if I knew Rumi would be a trouble to me, I would have taken Juno or Gwen. Unfortunately for me, one of the triplets I took was gifted with magic and then the 'thank you' I was expecting from her was she stealing my powers away from me and imprisoning me."
"I hope you die a horrible death Sarah, I truly hope." Emera said and with that he left the room.
Sarah tried to move again and breathed a sigh of relief when she was able to move her leg.
"Where is Adaoh?" Rumi demanded, closing her eyes and using her left palm to rub her forehead. Thinking hard.
"Dean imprisoned her," Sarah replied and sat down on the bed. "Don't worry, the chains I used on her can't be broken. She will be in that imprison until she dies." she added prompting Rumi to open her eyes and stare at her. "What? You have to agree with me on this, Adaoh deserves it." she said when she saw Rumi's expression.
"First of all, you took me away from my family-"
Interrupting her.
"And I didn't kill you."
"-made me hate Emera and his family and my own sister. You even have the guts to be talking about my real birth mother in my face Sarah." Rumi continued like she wasn't Interrupted. "You will be going back to the place I brought you out from." she added and the ground beneath them opened and they were gone the next minute, the ground going back to its original position.
In sheer horror, Sarah realized what Rumi meant when she looked at the place they were in. She was back to the place where Rumi had imprisoned her.
