After Stuart left Christian was not in the mood to talk to her. So he directly walked inside to took a briefcase and walked out. But he did saw her hesitating to say something to him. But at last, she didn't say anything. So he left it at that. It was best for both of them to not talk about what happened. Otherwise, he wasn't even sure of himself, he might do something extreme and bizarre. Which can be destructive for their relationship considering where they were today. It would be more bad.
As he came out of the neighborhood, his PA Cynthia, came out of the car and held the door open for him.
"Good noon sir."
Sitting inside, he greeted back.
"Noon."
"Sir. Your mask is placed in the designated place."
"Okay. Great. Let's get going, Cynthia."
"As you wish sir."
Saying that she came around the car and sat on the driver's seat. And started driving looking at him in the mirror. As he placed the ugly mask on his face.
She looked at the contrast between his face after the mask. He Changed from the most handsome man to the ugliest man in a few seconds.
'What a pity, how much longer will he need to pretend to be ugly. What if they are already dead. His attackers. It is a futile attempt to waste your youth for those mobsters sir. But who had the guts to tell you that? Probably no one.'
She sighed and focussed on the road. When Christian spoke.
"What happened to the report I asked you for?"
"It is ready and placed on your table as you have instructed."
"Okay." He mumbled out a small Okay. Looking out from the window. As various vehicles passed by. His face. Expressionless. But millions of thoughts running in his head.
'Stay confident Christian. Maybe you won't be the one losing her. Maybe he will be the one losing her. All will be well. Just focus on her and not him.'
His eyes cast downward as his hands firmly clenched into fists. Overthinking.
Cynthia noticed He was overthinking. Again. He did that when he thought about her.
Waiting for a few seconds she informs him in n a monotonous tone.
"Sir we are here."
Inhaling few breaths, he nods at her and dashes towards his office. Quietly she watches him walking at an astonishing pace. She doesn't utter a single word. Just Quietly following him. Everyone greets him. Which he never returned. While Cynthia smiles at everyone. Showing two fingers first index finger and the middle finger in peace sign. Representing his anger. To tell them silently.
The atmosphere turned denser as some people's astonished faces came into Cynthia's way. Why, wouldn't they? They needed to submit their reports. And when he was upset! God forbid what will happen to them.
He heads towards his room. While Cynthia walks towards the pantry. To prepare a cup of coffee for him.
Leaning against the window Christian exhales looking outside. 'I shouldn't be mad. It's not like she cheated on me. She just met her best friend. Perhaps her first love too. A love she had before she even met me. But why do I feel so upset about it?'
'Why?'
"Sir your coffee is here."
"Thank you. Cynthia. You can go now."
Puffing her cheeks, She looks at him again. He seemed rather lonely. Depressed.
She used to think his anger and smile both were creepy. But now she missed it. It was slightly better than his sad face.
Exhaling, she walks back and closes the door without noise.

Stuart walks up to his room. Rubbing his temples in pure frustration with a bottle of water. Drinking a few gulps he lets out a cold smile. And Dials a number. Waiting for him to respond to him.
"Good Noon Sir."
"Noon. I want you to Do something for me."
"Yes sir. Whatever you want."
"I am sending you a picture of a man. And I want a detailed investigation upon him. His name, family, anything you can dig in. I want it all."
"Okay, Sir. I will try to get you all the information you want."
"I don't want just you trying. I fucking want the results."
The man exhales. Not expecting his outburst.
"I will get back to you with a positive result."
"Great. I want the information as early as possible."
"Okay, sir."
He exhales, pulling out the picture from his pocket. His eyes focus on it. Looking at it, made him wish he could be back in time just to stop her from leaving on the day he did. Just so he could reject the other girl's proposal. They would have been together if he didn't have decided to do something that absurd on that day. He regretted it. It was the worst decision ever.
The subconscious voice provoked him 'But then you probably would have never met this amazing family. Do you still regret it?'
'Yes. A family at the cost of her is too much. She was destined to be mine. But I let her go from my foolishness. You might have got her first kiss. Mr. Mendicant. However, I will make sure it remains to it. You won't be able to have her. Now that I am back.'
Clicking on the picture he sends it to the contact that was saved as the name of PI. Along with that another picture he clicked when he was outside.

Riley recalls the whole scenario in her head. And decides she needed to ask for forgiveness from him. The way she had unknowingly insulted him was wrong. And his expreswas was rooted in her mind. His hurt and sad expressions. She never saw it. Even when he was involved in the accident. There was no sadness on his face.
