-38-Introduction or no introduction

He appeared to be the same age as hers, but she might be wrong about that especially since he was wearing a mask. Riley looked at his left hand. 'No ring.'
"Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight is a night of celebration for me. Since Your company is the first company I had acquired in New York. Cheers to our merger. I am looking forward to it." A small smile hung on the corner of his lips as he lifted his glass in the air.
Whispers of Cheers filled the room.
While Riley felt like, his voice was too familiar to ignore. She squeezed Tina's arm who didn't have the glass but was throwing her arm in the air and yelling cheers. Embarrassing her. When Tina didn't react, she squeezed her arm again, earning a groan from her.
With a quick grunt, she turned her body towards Riley, looking at her with a glare.
"What?" Tina barked at poor Riley.
Feeling the people's stare at her, she rubbed her arms, her cheeks turning into a deep shade of pink.
Pointing her finger towards her hand that was still in midair. She said sheepishly. "You don't have a glass!"
Tina nodded her head, remembering how amazed she was by his figure and eyes. That she had thrown her arms in the air. Giving her an awkward smile, she placed her hand back.
"Yeah. I was just distracted."
Nodding her head, Riley smiled.
"Okay."
Their conversation was cut short when The mysterious man spoke again.
"Thank you for coming here. And about my introduction, I am your new boss and I would like to keep my introduction this short for now. Also, I don't want you to waste your time listening to me. So Go and enjoy yourselves."
Riley's eyes furrowed in confusion. What was he doing? What was the use of party if he wasn't going to introduce himself? Was it planned just for their enjoyment? It felt like something fishy was going on in their party.
"By the way, you can start with the dance." His amazing manly voice echoed in the hall.
While All whispers turned into chuckles.
People moved towards the stage, hand in hand, and started moving at a slow rhythm. Dancing beautifully. For a moment, her mind went back to Mindy, 'how amazing it would have been if he was with her. They would have had so much fun. You are doing this again Riley. Accept it that you like him. That you are falling for him. That you want to be with him.' Her private speech of fickle mind reminded her.
Clearing her thoughts she focussed on the stage again. An electric current went through her as he; the mysterious man stepped forward walking towards them. Filled with nervousness Riley held tina's arm in a death grip.
"What's wrong with you Riley? You are hurting me." Tina yelled in her ears as the music begun in the background.
"I. I am sorry. But. He is coming here." She immediately apologized and held her shaky finger towards him. Tina followed her finger looking at the man of the hour walking towards them.
"So? He is our Boss Riley. It's his party. He can go wherever he wants. Also, Don't you think he might be going somewhere else."
Hesitating she spoke, "I hope so." Then looked onto him again. His strides were quick but powerful. The Rolex watch glimmered as he held out his hand to check the time. A tattoo of the letter R emerged on the backside of his fist just near the thumb as he swung his watch. Although she never really liked people wearing tattoos, for some reason she didn't hate it. It might have been because it started from her first letter. It was in cursive but breathtakingly beautiful. She was still admiring his view when he stopped just near her.
Immediately though she held her breath, eyes looking at her shoes waiting for him to pass by her side. But he didn't. His black shiny polished shoes stopped just near her three inches heels.
Impulsively she looked up, knocking her head into his chin. Earning a groan from her. He was close much close than she would have liked. His manly scent engulfing her body in warmth.
Rubbing his head, he said softly.
"Interesting."
Her eyes for the fifth time met his blue ones again.
"Sorry?"
"What?"
"I said Sorry."
"Ah. It's okay."
The man put on a mysterious smile on his face and held out his hand in a dramatic posture. He swore her beautiful black eyes were calling him. Hypnotizing him. He didn't even realize when he came in front of her. It was like his body took him there even without his permission.
"Would you like to dance with me, princess?"
His voice melted her insight but confused her at the same time. For there were so many women present in the room, but he came to her. For a dance? What was his purpose?
"Sir. I. I. I don't know how to dance."
"Don't worry about it. I will teach you."
"I. I don't think you can do that."
"I promise I can." He held her hand assuring her with his warm touch.
"But I don't even know you, sir. How can I learn dance from you?"
"Ah. It must be because I haven't introduced myself. I am your new owner."
Though what he said was true, to Riley, it looked like a double meaning sentence. Was he threatening her?
Laughing, he shook his head.
"Ah. Don't misunderstand me, Miss. I just want to dance. Nothing else."
At that exact minute, Tina decided to interrupt them.
"How about I dance with you, sir? You see my friend here is a little nervous. I hope you can forgive her and in return, I will dance with you." Tina said and held her hand out for him, her little body was shaking but she maintained a calm composure.
"Ah. No, no pretty lady, it's okay. All mistakes are forgiven. I would like to dance with her first. I hope we can dance later."
Seeing Tina sacrificing herself for him, made her realize how good human she was. Seeing the man will not leave her alone before the dance. She placed her hand in his uttering.
"Okay. Let's dance."
