He says it like some kind of god whose word wouldn't be broken for the benefit of everyone, but then he is no god and there are only two people present in this room, which is the two of us and I wouldn't mind breaking anything with him I'm it.
Without saying anything to him I walk away. I make my way through the passageway which I brought Rory in earlier, and approach the code button on the door, but when I press in the code the door buzzes red.
I frown and try again, but on and on the doors gives me the same red colour signal.
I stay still debating what to do, certainly true, I can't stay here nor do I want to go back in and face Rory for fear of breaking his stupid cute face.
Screw him!!
"Who the hell do you think you are?" I demand, with a hard tone of voice as I walk back to the room where he is and meet him till sitting peacefully.
How dare he be peaceful when I'm raging on the inside.
I dare and take my stand directly in from of him that if he decides to get up we will brush each other. I place my hand on my hip and I stare down angrily at him. Every moment passing by from the last five minute my anger has been circulating and roaming the air, and he just chooses to ignore it.
Just like he's ignored the fact that he's been half-naked for the last five minute too.
He hisses' and roll his eyes as contempt, set into his face as he looks up at me. "Your problem, Ms Snowfall is that you are too stubborn."
"And your problem is that you don't mind your fucking business!" I snap with a cold voice.
His face narrows, and then widen almost instantly and he scoffs in disbelief. "You curse." He says, the surprise readable in his voice.
I roll my eye and snort in an unladylike manner. "That's also something that isn't your business."
His expression returns to the way it was a few minutes ago, still, composed and organized.
"Someday you're going to thank me for this."
"Thank you for what? Keeping me locked up against my will?! You have no right to hold me here, Mr Gate."
He shakes his head, looking up at me. "If you'd stop shouting and start thinking, you'll realise I'm doing this for your good, Ms Snowfall." He quietly replies and I can see in his eyes that he is telling the truth, but I'm too damn furious to care.
"Who asked you to? I certainly didn't. I have a life, a responsibility to my family who needs me to survive, I bet that's something you never experienced." I spit out bitterly at him.
I have a responsibility to my family and I know without me the three Js future will be in jeopardy. I know it's just four more months to go, but there are still a whole lot to be done. We made it to pay up Jake fees, and half of Josh, there completed fee for Josh and Jack we haven't realised yet and I have to complete it and I know what pressure is on me. Josh and Jack may not say it, but I know they do think about it and I just want it cleared up.
But that would not happen if I get fired from my job now, will it?
"You are right," he begins to say. "I may never have experienced poverty, but I sure have experienced insecurity and I bet it's worse than poverty."
"I'd pick insecurity over poverty any day, I'd bet I'd survive," I tell him without a second thought.
To that, he smirks. "Have your life ever been in danger before?" He asks, his brow raising.
It has, a few times with Jason.
"If it has, you'll know how it feels. Now think about being insecure all the time and you may think they need you, but believe me, if you die, your family will mourn for a while then they will move on"
I don't know if he's talking to me or referring to his own experience, and although I had saved him, the thought of death as a result of that did not cross my mind but it does with him, why? Why does he care? Why is he thinking about every possibility? Why would he want to protect someone like me?
He begins to get up and I realise that that is just not the best idea there is in the world. First because, his body is going to come in contact with mine which wouldn't be the best thing ever and secondly because the body in question is naked and thirdly because more than anything, I do want to keep my sanity intact when until I get out of this hell hole.
I take four steps back, my eyes never wavering from him and slowly I move from looking down at him to looking up at him.
Damn, I hate feeling small.
"You certainly didn't think your life was in danger did you." He questions, with a curious look. "Even when I told you so before telling you you couldn't leave."
The only danger I see now is you for being naked and carefree.
"Well, I'm thinking of it now," I reply with fake glee.
"You think I want to keep you here for the fun of it?" A look of displeasure spread on his face for a few seconds then he takes a pause, and an exciting look appears on his face. "Thinking about it now," he takes a step towards me and I take three quick steps backwards. "Keeping you here could be fun."
Fun with a naked man is the last thing on my mind.
"People like you have an absurd way of having fun," I tell him, with a squared as well as agitated look.
His eyes roll involuntarily. "You can think whatever you want, Ms Snowfall, but I have no intention of keeping you here for the fun of it unless you're interested in partaking in it."
Yeah right you're naked and showing your full glory and you have no ulterior motive, thanks, but I think I'll pass.
I scoff and an uneven frown settles on my face as I look at him. "Men like you don't care what women like me want." I turn away and I'm about to walk off when my wrist is grabbed and I'm pulled by Rory's strong hand to being incredibly close to him.
