Chloe hated the fact that she was finding it hard to get the feel of his lush lips against hers out of her mind. She hated even more the fact that it was the next day already.
As she almost unconsciously recalled the night, Chloe turned on the tap of the wash hand basin and let the sound of rushing liquid ease her a bit.
Nathaniel didn’t come back after he left her standing in what one might as well call shock. Instead, after she had stood for almost an hour, he sent a driver to come get her and take her home.
It was quite rude of him, but it was established that he did weird things sometimes.
Sucking her lower lip in, Chloe got off the toilet seat and walked to the door handle where her smart watch which kept vibrating was hanging.
After she successfully connected her headset, she said, “Agent Pepper here.”
“How did yesterday go?”
“It was a short night. I noticed a few things though.”
There was brief silence before Agent Connor said, “Do tell.”
“Well Nathaniel Stone seemed to be wary of a certain guy named Anderson.”
“What are your deductions?”
“He might be a business rival.”
“He is. One of their taped conversations revealed that.”
“I see. Well, the second thing is an envelope.”
“An envelope?”
“Yes, a brown envelope he got from a Miss Sanquire. The delivery guy said that it contained some stuff.”
“Any rough idea of what could be inside?”
“No Sir. But I will dedicate today to finding that out.” Chloe’s heart flipped at what she just uttered. She was finally going to get some action and a very, very good distraction.
Again, no sound came from the other side, so Chloe who was still been attentive went on to sit on the edge of the bathtub.
As she played with the water she had earlier filled, Agent Connor’s voice came in. “Okay Chloe. Do all you can and take care.”
“Yes Sir.”
“And… about that time I talked about doing all you can even if it meant you giving into your hormones, forget about that and just do your best. Don’t go about doing things you would regret.”
Chloe found herself smiling. “Alright sir.”
And the call ended. That signified that she was about to get some work done. And that also meant that she was very likely to come across the man that kissed her the previous night.
How she was going to react, she wasn’t so sure.
All she knew was that it was time to turn off the basin’s tap and jump into the filled bathtub.

Holding the broom and dust parker tighter, Chloe spanned the room in question with her eyes.
It was simple.
All she had to was go in, get Nathaniel out using her cleaning duty as an excuse, and check for the brown envelope as quickly as possible.
Chloe let out a huge breath. 'Here goes nothing.’
“Good morning Nathaniel,” Lucille’s chirpy voice greeted from behind Chloe causing a pause to her steps.
Apparently, Nathaniel was coming out of Amir’s room. When he got to where both Chloe and a very excited Lucille stood, he faced them and said, “Good morning Lucille.”
“Good morning.” He ignored Chloe’s greeting and asked Lucille how she was doing.
Chloe resisted the urge to frown as she thought, ‘No good morning to me?'
As she looked his way again, he was being very chatty with Lucille who was responding to him with extreme joy.
“I’m going to clean your room.”
He ignored her again.
“Lucille,” he reached for the woman’s right shoulder and squeezed lightly.
“I’ll see you later.”
Chloe’s eyes widened a bit as he ended his statement with a wink at an already dreamy Lucille. Shaking her head a bit, she tried to process what exactly it was that just happened.
“I think Nathaniel likes me,” Lucille happily announced her deductions.
“Does he?” She still could not believe that he ignored her.
“Oh please, you are just jealous.” Lucille walked away after her display of contempt.
“Am I?” Chloe asked no one in particular but that state of surprise soon passed as she recalled she had a room to inconspicuously raid.
Steadily, she made for his room. On entering, she could not help but notice how moderately huge the white walled room was. The walls looking polished, they really matched the black and white theme that dressed his almost well laid bed.
While wondering what the rooms of the other two would be like, her eyes caught the closet tucked into a corner which was the extension of the wall. It was obvious Nathaniel was a man of style. But his style threaded the simple lane.
As she was about to walk to the balcony which looked so nice from afar, she noticed a brown coloured object sandwiched between two folded denim materials.
Ecstatic to have found what she was looking for easily, Chloe approached the closet carefully. But her steps were interrupted by a furious rattle of the door knob. Curious she wondered if Nathaniel had come back.
She quickly grabbed her cleaning materials that were just by the end of the bed.
“Hurry!”
The feminine voice was definitely not expected. Seeing that the door was halfway open, Chloe, without much thinking, flung herself under the huge bed.
“Oh yes, touch me right there,” the lady’s voice almost cried as whoever it was did what she told him to.
Chloe just kept listening and she could tell that they were approaching the bed.
When they did, the mattress sank a bit and the lady let out a low moan which clearly said with a touch of sexual frustration, “Amir.”
Chloe wanted to laugh at the fact that Amir was making out with a woman in Nathaniel’s room. But then, she was under his bed listening to them like a creep.
“What on earth is going on here?” Nathaniel voice suddenly came in.
‘Well, welcome to the party handsome.’
“Lucille?”
Chloe paused her mind for a second. Lucille was the one with Amir?
“Why are you…?” A clearly confused Nathaniel asked and Chloe figured it would be better to just lay low. “Wait, where is Chloe? She said she was cleaning my room.”
“We did not meet her here.” Amir responded.
“I am here.” Chloe confessed, her teeth gritted.
“Where?” She wished she could see his expression at that exact moment.
“Under your bed.”
