The minute I came out of Arius room to think of a plan, something that was going to help me keep my senses with me, I was tackled by reality.
Arius is a king and he has duties, duties I am automatically in charge of.
“Alal, there are issues that needs your attention.” Gogan started.
“Can it wait?” I snapped at him, all I wanted was to be in my room and search through the golden queen account of her time, I didn’t care that she might not have experienced something like this in her time, what I was concerned with is that she better has solution for it. Either in her scrolls or in a trance, she has no problem putting me in one so she can speak to me, she better be ready because if I can’t see anything in her writing, I will invoke her, I might not have an idea how to do that right now but I will know every soon.
“I am sorry my Queen but it can’t, rumors are already spreading around about Yama’s condition, you need to contain the spread before it get harmful and it will get harmful if you don’t do anything to assure the citizens that everything is fine.
Things were not fine and Gogan knew this, I saw it in his eyes just like I saw his fear, the fear he cannot hide.
“Fine, I want you to remove the service of everybody who you suspect had spread the situation Arius is outside and those whom you think are liable to spread the news should be sent on vacation and the help should be reduced drastically, the guards around the palace should be increased and this place should turnj into a fortress hard to get into.” I listed as Gogan mouth dropped open.
“Alal, that is not a good choice.”
“It is the only one we have Gogan. Arius should be protected and the people should have no idea what is going on, the servants should be reduced, less number of threats here, meanwhile the command that Arius had issued should go on without a hitch. Orel will be with the council to talk more on strategy matters and on no account is anybody supposed to tell outsiders about what is going on with Arius do I make myself clear.”
“Yes my queen but what do you plan on doing?” Gogan asked, noting that I didn’t include myself in the plans I made.
“Not sure yet but I do know that whatever it is that I will be doing, it is to find a cure for the king’s situation…”
“But the Yama.” Gogan started and I glared at him, he bit his tongue.
“I will be in my room and I require no disturbance.” I added over my shoulders as I walked as quickly as I could into my room, shutting the door behind me, I let out my breathe of relief as I started towards the drawers. I need an answer and I was going to get one regards of what others might think or what they will have to say.
Sitting down on the floor and ignoring Adela who came to curl up next to me, I opened the first scroll and continued reading. Hours flew by and I got more scared because there was nothing seeming like an answer or so it was until I opened a scroll and felt the words rolled off the page and into my head. My mind playing a story as I read the words written on the scroll.
“The ultimate power is what I need to defeat Mazikeen, Monar new form, it is the only thing powerful enough in this world currently to do whatever I bids it enough. It is sang of. Praises to those who hold the power of the gods and can mold it to whatever shape they would want. I have the coordinates of how to get it but I cannot leave the palace. If I do the world is lost. Mazikeen will win.
“Apsaras told me that there was nothing I could do to stop it in this life time, I will always fail they said. I don’t believe in their prophesies but still I knew the danger of discarding their words. Mazikeen will kill everybody close to me if I leave and so I made the first selfish decision I have ever made since I became the queen in this forgotten world. I chose to stay even though I knew that I would die anytime. It’s in the air. The end. I have done all I could do but I didn’t have enough time. I am burying the kingdom, when magic seize to exist, this world will be just like other empires and it will be a welcome development. An achievement and the only choice we have to living a free life. I had failed and we had no other option. The coordinates are useless but like my thoughts, they will probably be the only record of them in existence.”
After her words, I looked at the back of the scroll where I could see the faint trace of the routes to take. Placing the scroll aside, I sighed as I became aware of the path before me.
This was the journey which I ought to do. This was the trials they were referring to and I was going to do it.
I will leave tomorrow and before I leave I will assign roles on what to do and I would be taking Adela with me and someone who knows their way around the kingdom. Silana perhaps because she was the person who was the most logical choice.
My journey will have to commence as soon as possible and that was tomorrow eve.
Thoughts flashed through my head.
Was I making a huge mistake? Was this going to destroy the world, something which was prevented centauries ago and managed to still make people forget that some parts of their kingdom still existed?
I couldn’t remove magic like the golden queen did then, I am not even aware of the powers within me, if it is enough to do that or if it will work that way, I was sure that I was the one who awoke it.
I needed to end this and this was the only way I could.
Tomorrow will be a day that nobody will like.
