Arius Pov
My coronation was fixed to be two weeks from that day, that day, I lost my son and I spent the next one week hiding from everybody including the mother once I had comforted her for the first day.
I was being a coward, I knew this but it was all too much for me and I didn’t want to be closed to anybody right then, I lost my father and my child within the space of ten days and I was expected to be a king and take up responsibility arising.
I could cope with my father’s death but my son’s own threw me off, I was not expecting that or my reaction. My reaction which still surprises me since I never one day wanted the child but I still felt the loss.
“You are ready for today?” Silana asked me from the tree top, I was not even shocked that she was there, I was starting to think that my sister was one of those weird creatures in existence. She had never failed to find me every day and sometimes, I am not even aware of her presence until I was ready to leave wherever my hide out that day was.
This time she chose to talk and I find her in a tree which I could have sworn was empty when I sat under it, a tree I had searched for any signs of her and she was not there.
“Do I want to even know how you got on top of this tree without me knowing and there is no other tree close by which you would have used to climb on top of this one.” I said as he smiled.
“Do you want me to tell you or you still don’t want to know?” She asked as I sighed and shook my head.
Within seconds she was down beside me. “I miss him too.” She said silently as she tucked her legs under her, her bare foot peeking out of her gown.
“Which of them?” I snorted.
“Father.” Silana replied as she looked at me with her eyes staring unblinkingly at me, anytime she had looked at me like this in the past, I always felt a chill down my spine, this time was not any different. “That is who you miss too, don’t confuse your feelings.”
“How would you know?” I argued as she shrugged.
“Maybe because I know that you never liked the fact that you were having a child with Faye. Somewhere deep inside you, your feelings towards that child were off and you knew. That is if you had any feelings at all for him.”
“Maybe that is the point, I never had enough time to love the child…”
“The only reason why you never had enough time to love the child was because you knew that it was never meant to be so you didn’t let it affect your decision, don’t start letting it affect your decisions and choices now and the difference is that this time, it would even be more worse because it is not sadness you are feeling but rather, guilt. You feel bad for not loving the child.”
I stared at my sister in shock. “You cannot tell me what I feel.”
“When I can decipher your feelings before you do then sure I can. Now have you yet thought about what I just said and realized that I am right like I usually am?” She asked.
My eyes narrowed at her because I knew she knows I haven’t but for her to know what she thinks I feel already which means that there was something of importance she wants me to know and she was not waiting for me to arrive at my conclusions late. Someone would thing that I have lived long enough so I should be used to my sister mannerisms now but they don’t know how far from the truth they are.
“If you have something to say, say it and let me be.” I retorted, not willing to think about her being right or wrong.
“I won’t let you be until you do what I want too.” Silana added and before I could tell her to leave me alone, she added. “Gwenn.”
The words which I wanted to tell her died on my lips as I looked at her. “What happened to Gwenn?” I asked.
“She thinks that you are still with Faye, now you know better than to let a woman think that and also, I think it was time you corrected that error since she will be thinking that maybe it would be best for you if Faye was your queen.”
“She would not dare?” I growled out as Silana raised her eyebrow.
“For all she thinks, you might be planning the Ceremony with Faye by your side. You have less than three days before you become the Yama brother. Get your head out of your ass and stop giving Gwenn more reasons to think that you two are not perfect for each other.”
I stood up, about to go find Gwenn when Silana next words stopped me.
“Enjoy these few days of rest brother. The minute you become the Yama. Everything changes and not for the better. Worse things are about to start and you need Gwenn by your side.” Silana said as I nodded and rushed out thinking her last words were just blabbing.
If I had known, I would have paid better attention to her warnings.

He would be Yama, you promised me that would be my position.
And it will be, you know better than to doubt me. The entity in my head responded, I could not control a lot of things but I know about his emotions and feelings and right now, he was feeling satiated. The same feeling he had when I let him run free in the forest so he could regain his strength quicker.
What a load of waste that had been.
He didn’t tell me that Animals will not sate him for long, he waited until he was done eating before he told me that.
Blood of a human he had said afterwards when he merged back with me and I found myself as hunger as ever. So hungry that all I wanted to do was to claw out of my body and eat the whole world.
We were not in the middle of a war, neither were we near any source of that but there was only one choice that will not draw too much attention to the fact that something hair-raising was in the palace.
A human with nobody yet.
Faye was useless to me since Arius was smitten with his wife. If I couldn’t cause him and his wife to argue, then I very much could remove his heir and so I did.
And how he is sated and Arius will soon be king.
I am not doubting you but you promised.
The victory is all the more fun when your opponents get a taste of what they want only for it to be snatched from them. Don’t worry about your brother. If he still lives by the time I am done with him, you can have a piece of him then. Our time is almost upon us Kastav. Get ready.
I trusted him once more because he flooded me with a wave of his power. He could defeat my brother. And I am him. I will get all I wanted. My eyes reflected red for a second before they went back to their browns.
All it will take was just time.
