Chapter 47
Before I got out of the car, I removed the band-aid from my forehead. I bought fake bangs and a head-band from Nanny Yuna.
I put on fake bangs to cover the wound on my forehead and put the head-band. I forced to smile to get rid of the nervousness in my chest.
My wound is no longer obvious.
"I can do this," I whispered to myself. I got out of the car. The heel of my heels was broken so I just used the flat sandals I bought from Nanny Yuna.
Mommy and Daddy, who were outside the door, immediately opened up to me. They smiled as they looked at me. I smiled as I looked at them.
I remained standing while looking at them. I even looked at Driver Gong and Nanny Yuna. They both smiled at me.
I looked back at Mommy and Daddy. I came over to hug them.
Mommy hugged me tightly.
I heard her whisper as she hugged me, "I missed you, sweetheart."
Soft voice like an angel. It seems like those words touched my heart. It seems like it's refreshing because I just heard those words from Mommy again.
I smiled sweetly and say, "I missed you too," and I looked at Daddy then smiled. I slipped out of the hug to hug Daddy. I really missed them both. Finally, I was with them again, hugged, and saw.
I also hugged Daddy and said, "I missed you, Dad."
He stroked my hair and said, "I missed you, my princess."
I couldn’t help but smile sweetly. I haven't been with them for too long. I waited too long for this opportunity. I miss them so much.
. I held their hands as I looked at them both. I'm just smiling.
"You're growing up, sweetheart," Mommy commented to me. I smiled a bit, laughing a bit while holding my bangs which is fake. I used this bangs to cover my wound.
I laughed and replied, "I'm getting 18 next day."
"Exactly, my princess," Daddy said. "My princess is now a lady, a young lady," he added so I smile.
I missed having some talks with them. We rarely get to talk. They rarely go home in a year. I think, 6-7 times a year they go home.
"Let's go inside, honey, sweetheart," mom said. She put her arm around me as we entered.
I look at Nanny Yuna as we walk into the living room.
"How are you, sweetheart? How are you studying?" she asked as we walk.
"I'm fine, mom," I replied but I lied. I lied for a good reason. I'm not okay, to be honest, because I was about to be raped. I still have trauma and those things happened to me are bothering and hunting my mind.
Even if I want to say I'm not okay right now, I have to tell a lie and I lied. Sometimes, to lie is the best way to save us. Lie is a form of deception but not all lies are deceptions, 'cause there are white lies and lies that saves a person from suffering.
"... how about you, mom? How's your business? How are you?" I asked. We sat on the sofa first.
"We already have many clients and business partners of your Daddy," she replied before looking at Daddy. Daddy nodded at what she said. "We missed you so much so we thought of going home to see and be with you," she added causing me to smile.
"I missed you both every day. I miss you both every single moment, mom, dad."
"Your Daddy really forced me because he said he really wanted to see you and hug you again so we went home first."
"Really, Mommy? Dad wants to see and hug me so you go home?"
"I miss you so much, daughter, so we went home to see you," Daddy replied. "It's only 2 days before your debut and I want us to take care of your party," she added. I fell silent. I remember something.
Speaking of 'Party' ... as far as I remember, Bria said, she was here to take care of my party but she didn't take care of it. Leighden was helping me to prepare for my debut. She was acting Doña.
"Are you excited?"
I was shaken by mommy's question. I'm not sure yet what will happen on the day of my party. I don’t know perk there’s something in me that I can’t explain.
"Aren't you excited? Why?"
I just laughed suddenly and then said, "Of course, I'm excited! I'm really thrilled," I added even though I wasn't really excited about my debut. It's only 2 days — no! It's only 1 day because it's 12:03 AM now.
Why am I not excited? I don't know. There seems to be something wrong that I don't know what it is. There seems to be something missing that I can't find. I don’t seem comfortable with myself and anything else.
Is it just an effect of what happened to me?
I didn't notice Daddy saying anything. I was just shocked when Daddy suddenly called me.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" Mom asked, I nodded in response. "Is there something bothering you?" she asked again. "Sweetheart," she softly called.
I forced a smile and raised my eyebrows then replied, "Yes, mommy?"
She stares me in the eyes. Her brown eyes, those little eyes that I missed. I missed to see her and I missed everything about her.
I could not read in her eyes what she was thinking or feeling.
But why does she look like that when she looks at me? Why does she look at me like that now? Seems puffy. It's like ... sad that I can't explain.
"A-are you okay?" I asked. She smiled, a wide smile drew on her face.
"I-im just happy," she replied while smiling. I also smiled at what she said. I wanna say, I am grateful to see them both. I am blessed that they were here. I am really happy to see them. I missed them, my parents.
"... I really missed you, my sweetheart," she softly and weakly said as she stared at me. I can't speak but smiling. I can't help but to smile. I missed to hear those.
I barely looked at Daddy who was behind us. Mommy and I are facing each other and we are turning our backs on Daddy.
He sweetly smiled to me. I widen my smile like it was a spark of love, I said, "I missed you both."
He stroked my cheek once saying, "You have no idea how much I missed you, my princess Shane."
My Princess Shane? I just heard him call me Shane. I’m not used to someone calling me ‘Shane’. Mostly, just Pershey or ‘Doña’, or ‘Señorita’.
Nice to hear 'My Princess Shane' from Daddy.
I looked back at mommy who was still smiling. I knew they would only stay in the mansion for a few days. After a few days, they will return to the States. I know they are busy taking care of, growing our business in States. I know they are busy with the Company so I am very grateful because they are here, they got home somehow.
"When are you going back to the States?"
They were still looking at each other when I asked about their return to the States. I wish they would just stay here so we are complete. I want to see them, talk to them, hug them, and be with them everyday. To be honest, I envy others who have a whole family. I envy them because they are together as a family and happy. I will not deny that I also asked to experience those things. I'm rich, I already have everything, I can buy whatever I want to buy, but it's still not enough because money can't compensate for the fun when the whole family is together. I want to experience that my parents and I eat together. I love that I always have them with me. Fun is different when family is the reason. It’s different fun when I’m with my friends, different with family.
I really like that they are always here in case .... I can't say. I can't tell them not to leave again and just stay here with me. I can't be selfish. I accept that half of the time they have is reserved for me. That’s a big deal and I’m thankful that they take the time for me.
I love them so much.
"After your debut, we'll be back in the States. We still have a business meeting so we need to–"
"I understand, Mommy," I interrupted what she was saying then I smiled. I know that they are busy and I am very happy because they are here even before my birthday. "... I'm really glad you came home suddenly. You didn't even say that I wish I could have cooked you your favorite foods," I added.
"Thank you," Mommy said softly. My forehead furrowed slightly.
"Thank you?"
"Yes, thank you because you understands us," she replied before looking at Daddy.
"Our daughter is very smart and kind," Daddy said before pulling my hair behind my ear. I immediately grabbed his hand to stop. Maybe my fake bangs will be removed and they will see my wound. I don’t want them to know what happened to me. I knew they would be worried.
"I inherited it from you Mommy," I replied then smiled as I looked at them. They looked at each other again as if they were talking mentally. "... the important thing is, you're here, I'm with you, I can talk to you, and I can hug you again," I added. I hugged them both once kissing their foreheads.
Everyone stopped when I saw Bria approaching. She was carrying juice.
Mommy stood up suddenly when she saw her, she hugged Bria.
I just watched them. Maybe, Mommy also missed Bria.
Wait! About the pictures of them! I want to ask Mommy and Daddy about the picture. I want to know why they are together and why I am in the picture. I also want to ask Bria why she is hiding those pictures. I wanted to ask her why she didn’t tell me the truth about her age as well as why they were together with my parents.
I really wanted to ask but I couldn’t.
Are they hiding something from me?
