Then gradually she gathered courage to sniffle out. “D-daddy is Jo-jo-bson’s father.” Anas was filled with a mixed feeling of self-pity and anger. She was boiling inside her system. “How did you know this, Ama?” She asked. “From Jobson mum’s own mouth.” “What did your father say, then?” “Nothing! Daddy said nothing. Mum, in fact, he stood there, tongue-tied and grinning sheepishly. I was shocked as a bird landing on a burning fire that night. I have never seen my father as embarrassed as that before. I couldn’t believe my eyes and had to run out of the party.” Anastasia Donkor raised her upper lids to open her eyes wider to reveal the raised horizontal wrinkles on her forehead. Her jaw dropped to make the mouth stuck opened. She began to breathe very faster.
Anas started jumping and stomping her feet hard on the ground. “Today, what will be will be! Greg, Greg…!” Anas slowly shook her head and continued. “You have bitten more than you can chew. But this time around, there is no turning back. I can assure you that this marriage died the very day you had that bastard child. I am out for divorce.” “Oh, Mum…Jobson is older than me, so how can your marriage die before he was born?” “Never mind, my daughter. You are too young to understand these utterances.” Anas said finally.
There was a peep sound from Ama’s phone. Anas poked at the phone. “Pick the phone. You have a call, Ama.” Ama checked the intruding sound. “Mum, it’s a WhatsApp from Koryo.” Anas was irritated by the mention of Koryo. “After what happened the other day with your father, what else does she wants from you again?” Ama pleaded to respond to the WhatsApp. “Well, I don’t know, Mum.” “Okay, but I am leaving this marriage. You are no more a minor and can decide where to be.” “Mum, we shall talk about this later.” Ama told her mother and thereafter started to type on her phone.
