The place they took Mason and Noah was an abandoned storage about an hour away. They took them to a small room that seemed like they used it as an office and firmly tied their hands and legs with tape.
Mason glanced at the dark surroundings. There were a few chairs and a small television, sleeping bags and breadcrumbs laid out around them. Mason’s eyes stopped at the corner of the room, which was sending off a musty and desperate aura.
“…..”
He was wondering why they didn’t request a helicopter or a plane, but instead requested a car and came back here. They couldn’t have given everything up.
Then he noticed Alta’s safe lying at the corner of the room.
Mason lowly clicked his tongue. Well, everything started from there. No way would they easily give it up. But if they did and asked for money or valuables from Noah’s parents and left to a third world country, they would have higher chances of surviving. …No, actually the chances of survival was close to zero, but was still better none.
Not only did they betray Zii, they also held Noah Raycarlton as a hostage. It was worse than throwing your life away in a trashcan. They only had one path left and it was the worst way to go.
It seemed like those two thought the same because their expressions weren’t good. They’ve probably realized by now that, too much greed brings ruin. Mason quietly sighed and moved his eyes to Noah, who has been staring at him the whole time.

Mason bit his lip looking at Noah’s pale face. There was a cut on his handsome and clean forehead and Mason was so mad and annoyed that bitter bile rose in his throat. He should’ve kept quiet, why did he have to say something useless and-… No, the problem was that he went out to see those dangerous guys all alone. Who does he think he is to see those guys without any bodyguards?
“Why-…,”
Mason lifted his tied hands and touched Noah’s forehead that was drenched in sweat and blood. Look at this. The forehead that looked smooth like china, when he saw it while kissing, was now ruined with a bloodstain. As Mason checked the cut with a mad expression, Noah smiled slightly.
“…-How could you smile right now?”
‘Looking like this?’ Mason demurred and Noah bent his eyes as his smile deepened. He said very sweetly-
“Because I like it.”
“…Like it?”
Mason asked because it didn’t make any sense, and Noah replied, “Ah, I can even die right now.”

Mason stared at him for a moment, and touched Noah’s forehead with the back of his hand. Just like he thought, Noah definitely had a fever.
“Excuse me! Do you have any medicine? A fever reducer or antiseptic…,”
Mason turned back and asked, and Ashely glared at him with a scary eye. Mason hid fragile Noah and carefully said, “He has a fever….”
“You think our situation is funny, we are-!”
Ah, fuck! She hit the wall with the hand that was holding the gun, and the wall coating turned into dust. Mason waited quietly until she calmed down. She was angry for a long time and sat on a creaky chair and took out a cigarette. Her tears fell, and she covered her eyes probably because of this hopeless situation and once again said, ‘Ahh, fuck!’ and sighed.
Aaron, who came back after looking around outside, saw her and got annoyed at her saying, “Why the fuck are you crying?” He made Mason stand up and threw him into the wall and brought a chair to make Noah sit down.
“Mr. Raycarlton.”
Noah, who was smiling sweetly while looking at Mason, lifted his head with an indifferent expression as if he just got splashed with cold water. Aaron slightly bent his body towards Noah and said.
“It must be uncomfortable, but please listen. -We didn’t want to abduct you.”
“Ah, sure.”
“My forehead hurts, my arms and legs are uncomfortable because they are tied, but yeah. Okay.” -Noah answered sarcastically. Aaron looked panicked because Noah, who was famous for being kind and gentlemanly, had reacted like that. Even Mason, who had only known that kind of Noah, frowned. Those two are already nervous, and there was no reason for him to irritate them more. Aaron asked with a frozen expression-
“Did you see the note I sent through Fred?”
“Ah, about a safe or something.”
Noah tilted his head and laughed like it was funny. Aaron’s face, hardened.
“We heard that Mr. Raycarlton was interested in that safe. We were thinking of selling it to you-…,”
Mason looked back at Noah when he heard Aaron. He was interested in the safe? Noah? -But Noah was chuckling instead.
“Well-…, I don’t even know what that safe is.”
“You don’t? -I definitely heard that you were trying to get hold of the person who ran away with the safe from Zii…,”
“Ah, yes. I was.”
Noah nodded. He chuckled shortly as if this situation was funny and sighed lowly. Soon his face set into a cold, hard expression.
“I wasn’t looking for the safe though, but for Mason.”
He glanced at Mason, who was lying on the ground at a corner, as he said it. Ashely stood up and Aaron stared at Noah, dumbfounded.
“…For Mason?”
Mason swallowed hard under Noah piercing stare and only dared to glimpse at Aaron and Ashely’s expressions. “No, Noah. Don’t irritate them.” It was very dangerous for Noah to irritate someone who was already in a hopeless position. Please act more obedient, he wanted to grab him and say that, but Noah started talking before he could.
“I didn’t want to meet you guys because of a mere safe. I wanted to see your faces. I wanted see the people who killed Mason, slowly-…”
Noah looked at Ashely’s face, which was frozen and drenched wet with tears, and looked back at a pale and frozen Aaron. He smiled languidly.
“Ah, right. I wanted to see you guys make exactly those expressions.”
Aaron’s face slowly creased horribly. He realized what Noah was talking about. Mason quickly moved to block Noah’s mouth after seeing Aaron’s hand grab for the gun in his waist holster.
“The expressions that shows the only choice you guys have is hopelessness-…”
But he was too far away to stop Noah and his vicious words flowed without any interruption. At that moment Aaron lifted his gun with a scary expression.
“No!”
Mason screamed, but no one would listen to him.
Bang-! A creepy explosion deafened their ears.
