The two women agreed. Their information was limited. There was no point speculating about the demoness’ motive.
“Why don’t we rescue my father first? We’ll stand a better chance against the demoness with his strength and knowledge,” Firework said with a hopeful gleam in her eyes.
“Have you found your father’s whereabouts?” Zu An agreed that her father, as Dreamland’s master, would have a better idea as to how they could quell the demoness.
“I don’t have a concrete location yet, but I have some clues,” Firework replied.
“Alright. Let’s try rescuing your father first.” Zu An knew there was no other solution at hand. That demon spider transcended the concept of strong and weak. There was no way they could defeat it, so their only option was to find other solutions.
Isabella meekly asked, “Will you help me save Uncle Alfred after we rescue your father?”
“That goes without saying!” Firework exclaimed. “We’re in the same boat now. We’ll definitely save Uncle Alfred after rescuing my father.”
Firework’s guarantee brought Isabella relief. Isabella perked herself up and said, “Alright, let’s go rescue your father!”
Firework led the two of them down a convoluted path, until they finally arrived before a door. She peeked outside the door and cursed, “Damn. There are many small spiders outside.”
Zu An took a look outside. There were indeed many little spiders scuttling around, searching for their whereabouts.
“These little spiders don’t seem too strong. Why don’t we...”
Before Isabella could finish her sentence, Firework interjected, “That won’t do. Their consciousness is linked to the demon spider. If we attack the small spiders, the bigger spider will immediately be alerted to our location. That’ll spell the end of us.”
“Are there any other paths?”

Isabella looked defeated. “I guess we can only wait for the small spiders to leave on their own accord.”

It was already dark outside, so the spiders hadn’t noticed anything amiss even when he used the dark jewel.
“How did you do it?” Firework asked excitedly.
“I have an ability that allows me to meld into darkness.”
“How many more abilities do you have that we don’t know about?”
An ability that could deceive the demon spider’s senses had to be of the highest caliber. This man carried many secrets, and that made him fatally charming to them.
“But what about us?” Isabella asked with a pitiful frown. “We don’t have such an ability.”
Zu An pulled out a cloak from his Brilliant Glass Bead and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll take you out. It might be a bit uncomfortable, but bear with it.”
He had once successfully carried Shang Liuyu with him using this method.

Zu An took out the black jewel and plunged the surroundings into darkness. He melded into the darkness and walked out.
He had to proceed slowly because the area was filled with little spiders. Perhaps they wouldn't be able to sense him, but if he touched them carelessly, they would notice him right away. Furthermore, there were invisible spider threads hanging along the corridor. Touching them would alert the demon spider as well.
