Zu An looked over in delight.
A white-robed woman had lifted her skirt and was frantically running over. Her black hair was casually twisted into a bun on her head. A couple of loose hair strands hung next to her ears, contrasting with her fair, slender neck. She had peach blossom eyes that would seem to be brimming with seductiveness even when looking at a dog, though the more palpable emotions that could be felt from them now were delight and excitement.
Her face was reddened from her sprinting. Perhaps due to her robe tightening around her waist, her chest bounced more than usual due to her movements. It added a tender touch to the harsh environment of Genesis Mountain.
“Yuqing!” Zu An was overjoyed. He hadn’t expected to meet her here. For a moment, he was worried that she was just a lookalike like the Goddess of Wu Mountain, but the familiar soft touch when she pounced into his arms made him realize that he hadn’t misidentified her.
“Big brother Zu...” Yun Yuqing buried her face in Zu An’s chest as she sobbed. She embraced Zu An with great force, as if fearing that he would disappear if she loosened her grip.
Zu An asked, “Yuqing, what are you doing here?”
He looked around, but Ji Xiaoxi and Jiang Luofu were nowhere to be found. This unnerved him. When they first arrived at the spacetime fragment, the three of them had decided to move together, but unfortunately, he'd been unable to find them afterward. He had entered this world where the Celestial Court existed via the Fiend races’ imperial tomb, so how had Yun Yuqing gotten here?
Many doubts surfaced in Zu An’s mind.
The Goddess of Wu Mountain glanced at the Mermaid Queen. Yet another gorgeous woman has leaped into her lover’s arms, but why is she not angry in the slightest?
The Mermaid Queen was conflicted. Zu An had told her about his companions before, so she was mentally prepared for this scenario. However, she hadn’t expected them to reunite under such circumstances.
This woman is truly beautiful, but again, a woman who catches big brother Zu’s eyes can’t possibly be ordinary. How should I introduce myself to her later? Should I say that I just got married to big brother Zu? Would that make me sound like a vixen?
“Miss Yun, who’s this guy?” The man shrouded in flames descended to their side. He glanced at Zu An with wary eyes, particularly since Yun Yuqing was embracing him.
“He’s my husband,” Yun Yuqing was embarrassed, but she still gathered up her courage to say so.
The Goddess of Wu Mountain lifted her eyebrows. She secretly glanced at the Mermaid Queen once more. Oyoy, that woman is proclaiming her dominance now. Hm? Why does it seem as if I can’t wait for them to fight each other?
The Mermaid Queen frowned. I was hesitating about whether to first assert my dominance, but she beat me to it.
Zu An was perplexed too. “Yuqing, who is this?”
The man took a courteous tone with Yun Yuqing, and it didn’t seem to be because he wanted to court her. Rather, his respect for her came from the bottom of his heart. This is weird, especially considering the huge difference in their strength. What’s their relationship?
“This is the Celestial Court’s Fire Celestial Lord Wuhui,” Yun Yuqing said. “He saved me when I was in danger.”
“Fire Celestial Wuhui? Celestial Court?” Zu An was taken aback. No wonder those golden-armored warriors look so familiar. They're celestial soldiers!
The Goddess of Wu Mountain sent a telepathic message to Zu An to explain, “The Celestial Court’s Fire Celestial governs the world’s flames. It is a highly respected position. Zhongli was the previous Fire Celestial, but he returned to the great dao while separating heaven from earth. The Celestial Court might have called Wuhui back to take the position.”
Zu An nodded. No wonder his flames are so formidable. So it turns out he’s the Fire Celestial.
Wuhui assessed Zu An and remarked approvingly, “Miss Yun, your husband is formidable.”
But Zu An was more concerned with what Yun Yuqing had just mentioned. “You said you met with danger. What happened? And how did you appear... here?”
Yun Yuqing bit her lips. “After we parted ways, big sister Jiang, little sister Xiaoxi, and I investigated the whereabouts of the Brilliant Pinflower. We soon learned that it could be located in the Fiend races’ imperial tomb, so we made our way over to take a look. However, the area was already occupied by the monsters, so we could only continue our search discreetly.
“We eventually found a chance to slip into the Fiend races’ imperial tomb, but we were suddenly struck by a white light that caused the surrounding space to be plunged into disarray. Before we knew it, we were already in this world.”
The white light likely refers to the opening of the dungeon. They must have been caught off guard and were swept in as well. But this is a good thing too. It would be disastrous if they were caught by the Monster Lord or the Lord of Slaughter.
“Where are Principal Jiang and Xiaoxi?”
Yun Yuqing’s eyes reddened. “Ever since we arrived in this world, we were treading carefully to understand what was going on, as well as looking for a way to return. But we stumbled upon a mysterious altar, and Xiaoxi’s Cruel Poison Constitution was suddenly triggered by a mysterious power...”
“What?!” Zu An was horrified. He knew how potent Ji Xiaoxi’s Cruel Poison Constitution was, and the Firecloud Cave’s master had just warned him that once the Cruel Poison Constitution flared up, the chances of survival were slim.
The absence of Ji Xiaoxi and Jiang Luofu caused his heart to lurch.
“We tried to suppress Ji Xiaoxi’s Cruel Poison Constitution, but to no avail. A mysterious man suddenly arrived then, and he said he was delighted that such a constitution existed in this world. He helped stabilize Ji Xiaoxi’s condition,” Yun Yuqing replied.
How strong must that person be to suppress the Cruel Poison Constitution?
“We were initially thankful to him, but it turns out that he merely coveted Xiaoxi’s unique constitution. He first kidnapped her before attempting to kill us.” Yun Yuqing’s face paled. The thought of what had happened then frightened her. “Fortunately, we were able to survive thanks to your protection artifacts, the Last Breath Talisman, and big sister Jiang’s scale artifact.”
Zu An’s expression darkened. That mysterious man was vicious enough to try to take their lives just like that.
“Where’s Principal Jiang?” he anxiously asked.
“When we woke up, we were in despair. That mysterious man was too powerful. We wouldn’t have been a match for him no matter how many more years we cultivated.” Yun Yuqing glanced at Zu An. “If only we'd known that you were in this world too back then.”
She continued, “Big sister Jiang sees Xiaoxi as her daughter. She mumbled that she would pay any price to save Xiaoxi. She told me a bunch of things, as if entrusting her final will to me. Then one day, by the time I woke up, she'd suddenly disappeared.”
“Disappeared?” Zu An widened his eyes.
